I had went to a car wash & when I was leaving & turned right at the light my door flew open & few days later my steering wheel started to get hard to turn & it had started leaking bad . I had my kids in the car when both incident happened. Didn’t notify my insurance or police .

Steering column module is intermittently not working as intended, therefore the blinkers will sometimes not work causing it to be a safety concern if I can not signal where I am going. When looking this issue up online I have seen numerous different forums and posts where people have had the same issue. When I took my vehicle to the dealership they had told me that this is very common with the vehicle I have and they do the fix all of the time, just for the issue to happen yet again later down the road.

The fuel system faild had it replaced twice gss leaking as well as the power steering leaking badly went out while driving I had both replaced power steering is out again several months later car been sitting since then I looked up to see if there were any safty recalls I did find both on kelly blue book and a few other sites I contacted dealership was told I could bring vehicle the the recalls don't expire once the vehicle was there received a phone call they had my vehicle however the said they didn't know what kind it was or why it was there I asked how could u not know that was told they had keys but haven't went out to look I gave all my information before the vehicle was picked up I told them the issue again I was told then that as long as it's a recall problem no charge two days later I received another call same thing not knowing what type of vehicle I explained the situation again this time I was told they see 7 recalls all expired but 1 on the break system and I will have to pay $198 plus tax $233 for diagnostic ran and that price doesn't count towards repairs I waited a few hours called in act like someone else and was told recalls don't expire when I explained what was going on and who I was they told me my recalls closed and can't reopen and the was told they didn't see anything about power steering recalls however it was before I had my car towed if this was a safety recall hiw can I tell what information is correct with old recalls and how do I get them to fix this I do have a older model that I purchased 3 years ago from what I can see on there website when putting in VIN only show current recalls and shows my vehicle not having any recalls work ever done this information was on mercedes of louisville website I feel like I'm getting the run around please help with this safety recall I have small kids and won't to be safety.

The steering column does not operate properly. The column no longer adjusts positions and more importantly, the turn signals work ad-hoc. When you start the vehicle, the turn signals tend to operate properly; however, after driving for approximately 15 minutes, the turn signals operate sporadically. This is a safety concern as it's impossible to know when the turn signal will operate correctly or not, thus creating a hazard to me and others on the road. It is my understanding from investigating this online that this is a systemic issue with this model and not unique to my vehicle (just google "2012 mercedes Ml350 turn signal problems"). I discussed this with Mercedes Benz USA and they told me that the only way to resolve this issue is to replace the steering column (part #: 166-460-62-00) at the cost of $3,373. 81. I hope that the NHTSA investigates this further as mercedes-benz has decided to ignore this safety issue that may cause harm or death. Steering wheel tilt adjustment failed. Without adjustment it is impossible to steer the automobile safely due to hand placement for control. This is apparent especially when there are multiple drivers. There is not a manual over ride since the system is controled electrically.

On February 18, 2022 at approximately 2240 hours I was in a wreck which totalled my 2010 mercedes ml-350. I was approaching a curb and tried to brake but they didn't work and my vehicle pulled to the right and I totaled it out on an electricity pole. I was not aware of the recall 16v081 until September 04, 2022. My mercedes is currently under a tarp under my shed, and has been for months. Please explain the steps and procedures I need to follow to get my vehicle replaced because the damages to my vehicle as well as the transformers that blew, shutting off power in a 2 miles radius could have been fatal and I have since been without a vehicle.

Before the incident my mercedes started to pull away from me each time I attempted to press the brakes. At times the when I would press the brakes nothing would happen at all as if I wasn’t pressing them at all. Well on the night of February 18,2022 I was coming around a curb and when I went to press the brakes, my mercedes began to sway slightly but the brakes never kicked in. The result of the incident totaled my vehicle, took out two transformers and a light pole, and costed me a careless operation ticket, the storage and towing of the vehicle from the incident, to the tow yard, then back home, as well as paying the ticket and having to pay the dmv. There is still an unknown amount due to demco (the energy company) for the light pole, two transformers, after hours workers and the actual worked and labor they performed. The recall flyers hadn’t been mailed out until a few months after the wreck so I had no knowledge of the issues happening nor the fact that driving the vehicle could be detrimental.

After driving the car, the right/left turn signal switch fails to work (no signal is given both in the panel of the car and the external turn signal lights do not flash). However, the emergency flashers still work. I have searched the issue and found many occurrences on the internet. Such a common issue should be a manufacturing quality issue and deserves a recall.

Losing power steering pressure while driving the car: safety issue it appears hard to steer the Ml350.

I brought my mercedes to an independant mercedes specialist for a lubrication service. They noticed a bolt broken from the steering gear. They gave me the information contained in mercedes campaign no. 2019080019 and told me I should contact my local mercedes new car dealer for warranty repairs. Why isn"t this a recall?.

Turn signals will not operate, dealership quoted me $1400 3 years ago, had the work performed and now the issue is happening again and I am being quoted the same amount of money. This is a safety concern if I cannot signal to others where I am turning!!!!! this could cause an accident!!!!! this is highly unsafe!!! what if my kids were in the car?! talking to customers in waiting lounge at dealership other people have had same issue!! the one time they stopped working I had a person hit me going 30 mph, could have been much much worse.

Without warning while in motion, on a country road, an alarm went off stating "return to workshop" turn signals stopped working, dashboard when blank (no speedometer working), srs alarm and could not put the vehicle in park or nuetral.

I was driving in my car to work on the city street (santa anita Ave going north in the city of arcadia CA), within few minutes after I left the house I felt my hands get hot probably the air bag deployed and the next thing I know my car ran over the center divider and flipped over. Fortunately, I came out of the car dazed and with multiple bruises.

I was driving my mercedes in atlanta, georgia and had only minutes gotten off of an extremely busy 400. Within a few minutes of exiting my power steering completely went out. I was 80 miles from home and had a car full of young women. I shutter to think what could've happened barely 10 minutes sooner. The car was towed to rbm of atlanta where I was given an almost $6000 estimate. The car only had 27,000 miles on it. I bought it with approximately 18,000 miles on it . As I began researching and price shopping I was informed by several mechanics that this particular power steering equipment had been faulty for years. Unfortunately I didn't buy it as a precertified vehicle so there was no warranty. I was really astonished that a car with such low mileage would have such major problems. The part numbers have been changed several times and each mechanic expressed concern that there had not been a recall. Rbm and mercedes adjusted the price to get it to almost 4,000 which is still unacceptable for the consumer to pay when clearly the equipment was faulty. I also tried to address the fact of getting the same equipment put back in the car. I fear for my safety as well as other unknowing individuals. I hope a life doesn't have to be lost for mercedes to step up and take responsibility for an inferior part. Thanks for your time and consideration with this matter.

Mileage 80k and a steering rack needs to be replaced due to a broken pin. I see a recall 2008120011 and following the documentation this VIN qualifies for it but the mb dealer is saying that there is no open recall for this car.

The power tilt steering wheel is locked in the upmost position which makes driving uncomfortable and unsafe. I googled this problem and there are hundreds of Mercedes Benz that have this problem, not just the Ml350.

I own a Mercedes Benz ml 350 2014 and never had any problems with it untill this pass Friday March 31st I was driving to work that morning I same way I always go and while going around the small roundabout the SUV shot of and started pulling to the left and it sounde like a piece of iron being draged on concrete. It caused me to hit and other SUV and it was very scray for me so mercedes did some diagnostic testing and said that the car was fine. . I dont believe that if any car does what mine did that it would be fine something is wrong with it, I am now afraid to drivr it . . I told the head office of mercedes in new jersey that the sarasota FL dealership can keep the car for a month or so and do some additional test and chech up on the engine but I have not heard back from them as yet.

My 2006 merc Ml350, broke down on me 10/22/16, as soon as I got off the freeway because I was hearing a crackling sound from the engine. I was able to drive in a local parking lot to avoid embarrassment. This vehicle is always needing something, and at this time it was hard to turn the sterring wheel to park it because the serpentine (vbelt) had unraveled its way from the alternator pulley!! the lord had saved my life! same year in March fremont dealership said I needed to replace my air condersor but never said anything about my belt being worn or cracked or anything about this. This should have been noticed at that present time. They misinformed me at that time about the vbelt needing to be replaced and tried to sell me a air mass sensor. Mercedes knows about vehicle 2006 year and all the parts that are malfunctioning and wont lift a finger to recal or reimburse or pay entirely. I vould have died on tge freeway had this v belt wouls have came off! tookbitvin for repairs and the dealer is requesting $2350 to replace air condition unit and they will have to open up alternator & adjust + vbelt. Campaign anyone or botcott mbusa!!.

Steering feels weird.

The contact owns a 2012 mercedes-benz Ml350. While driving approximately 70 mph, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was determined that the steering wheel became inoperable and the entire steering wheel and electrical motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that a case manager would call the contact back within forty-eight hours. The failure mileage was 16,000.

The power steering is not working since April 2015. Check by the dealer and said it needs to be replaced and it is not recalled. But when check the consumer report mecerdez benz 2008 ml 350 has power steering recall.

Loss of power steering fluid resulting in diminished or total loss of power steering. Though total loss did not happen yet, this could easily have resulted in a loss of control and a crash without any warning. 1998-2004 class was recalled for that very reason; why not the model years thereafter that have same problem; likely in same frequency.

I was stopped at a red light waiting make a left. When the light turned green to make a left, I started going and got to the middle of the intersection when my steering got stuck. I was able to pull the steering wheel to complete a wide left turn. I was safely able to pull into a parking lot, but without a real effort to turn the wheel and again having to make another wide left turn before an oncoming car almost hit me.

Extremely difficult to steer at low speed, especially when first starting out after being parked for a while. Steering mechanism makes a terrible, moaning, wailing, screeching noise. Nearly impossible to control direction of vehicle.

While traveling at 55mph the steering suddenly felt very stiff and hard to move. Had to apply brakes when it seemed I couldn't negotiate a curve in the road. The steering returned to normal shortly after applying the brakes. The steering problem occurred again in a local shopping center parking lot at slow speed. Returned the car to the dealer service center. They performed a software update and stated they couldn't find any problems with the steering. Within 3 days the problem reappeared at slow speed while steering through barriers entering a local air force base. The next day (4 days after dealer service) the wife had the steering lock up at slow speed in a local grocery store parking lot. She could not move the steering wheel at all. She shut off the engine, restarted the engine, and the steering returned. The same thing happened again on the way home after grocery shopping. She is now afraid to drive the vehicle on the highway. Returned the car to the local dealer for service. We have only had the Ml350 three weeks. Could not believe the problem hadn't been discovered before by the previous owners or the sales manager that was using it as a dealer vehicle.

I am going to uhaul to rent trailer. Uhaul is around 8 miles from my house. After 7 miles of driving on the road suddenly showing error message " power steering malfunction refer to operator's manual" at that time steering was super super super hard to turn. Immediately I turned on the hazardous lights. Applied full amount of power with my 2 hands turned steering wheel to right to exit the road. Slowly it moved and changed lanes and took vehicle to off the road it took around 5 minutes to off the road. I referred, manual nothing mentioned in manual. Try change mode from power manual, but no luck. Called emergency road side assistance. They don't know how to solve and even problem, but they agreed that its too hard to steer wheel when u get this message. My Ml350 towed to nearest dealer and also towing guy also surprised and he felt it was too dangerous. After 2 hours mercedes service advisor called me and told me that they did not found any mechanical failure, but they have to update the software. And also they are observing my vehicle for 2 days. If it happens on highway with the speed of 70-80mph how should I control the vehicle and I will be in the accident and it will lead to anything, my wife is too afraid to drive the vehicle. I spend 60k on it. I am also too scare to drive the vehicle.

My check engine light came on about 24 June 2013 or so. I contacted atlanta classic cars, my local mb dealership to address the issue. My vehicle was inspected on 2 July, and the report indicated my balance shaft needed to be replaced ($5,100), my power steering components needed to be replaced ($3,067. 50), and my transmission valve body needed to be replaced ($1,812. 95). I have been the sole owner of this vehicle, and have had it serviced regularly at mb dealerships (critz - savannah, GA and atlanta classic cars - duluth, GA). Previously, this vehicle had transmission problems, which occurred just after the warranty expired. At first, atlanta classic cars did not want to take responsibility for the issue, since the vehicle's warranty had expired. After my husband got involved, they agreed to fix the problem for no charge. Another minor problem involved the locking mechanism on the vehicle's hatch -- it had to be replaced three times before it finally worked properly. I am very dismayed that after seven years and 109k miles, my vehicle is experiencing such expensive problems as this.
