The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. While driving approximately 70 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle suddenly stopped. The contact noticed that there was no gasoline in the fuel tank because the fuel gauge displayed inaccurate readings. The failure occurred without warning. The empty fuel tank was consumed with gasoline. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer and they stated that this was a common issue with no available remedy. The technician recommended that he fill the fuel tank every 200 miles. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact was concerned of the safety risk involved.
