Failure Date: 09/09/2023

My vehicle keeps throwing codes for the evap system. I have noticed many of these vehicles have to have their purge valve cannister replaced along with the selenoid for it. I have to replace mine. Is that not a defect if the vehicle? I have owned several vehicles and never had this issue with any of them.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2023

I bought a 2010 Mercury Mariner on June 22, 2023 from a local dealer. There are several recalls associated with the make and model of the vehicle, but they do not appear to be associated with the VIN on my vehicle. However, the recalls on the vehicle appear to be affecting my vehicle and there is a warning on the dashboard of my car about the fuel system which is one of the recalls on the vehicle. Fuel delivery system is causing issues in my vehicle.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2023

I recently purchase 2010 Mercury Mariner. There is a few errors appearing on the screen in front of the steering wheel. One of the error is "check fuel lines. " it also has an error about the tire pressure sensor. It also rides roughly, but the wheels are like new, so it feels like the suspension or shocks have something wrong with them. Also, there is a lot of play in the steering wheel when driving it. When I went to check on the recalls in the system by putting in my VIN, it shows that there are no recalls on my vehicle. However, these errors and issues are connected to the recalls for my vehicle. I am sure that these recalls have not been taken care of for this vehicle and they need to be fixed.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2022

My vehicle has been running out of gas extremely quick. It also leaks underneath when I am pumping gas into the Mariner. I am having a loud thunking sound underneath the vehicle an when I let off the accelerator, my car slowly comes to a hault. My power steering went out one day also without warning. I can't figure the problem out except I seen a recall for the power steering module or some sort that has malfunctioned an causes the computer to erase the power steering sensor completely clean of it's existence. Please help!.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2022

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2020

The vehicle was in motion at a stoplight. The light had turned green, and the vehicle was breaking to stop behind the first vehicle. I pressed the gas pedal to follow the first vehicle and the car stalled. The car could not be turned back on or put in motion. There was no indication of a problem prior to this throttle body failure. The car was pushed off the road by 3 people and into a nearby parking lot. The problem that made the vehicle unsafe was a defective Ford throttle body. The reference consumer satisfaction program 13n03. I received the recall notice June 2014, but Ford only suggested a recalibration (not replacement). The recalibration was completed at Ford autonation on June 23, 2014. Ford had estimated a throttle body reduction in movability and not failure. The mileage of this Mercury Mariner on the date of repair was 142551 and the in-service date, 06/18/2010. Therefore, the reimbursement should be covered under Ford's extended warranty of 150000 miles/10 years. The repair was completed 06/08/2020. Ten days prior to the expiration of the extended warranty. Ford claims they will not reimburse for the throttle body failure. This was well-documented in the previous claim 13n03 and this case should be reopened, based on the fatality possibility of a throttle body failure with the original part that came with the vehicle, which was also re-calibrated per Ford's recall in 2014. This incident proves that Ford's re-calibration did not prevent failure of the throttle body. Asking for a recall for the throttle body for the similar makes and models still in circulation as it's a safety hazard and also reimbursement for this service for vehicles that had it completed.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2020

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2018

After receiving Ford's recall notice 16s41/16v-777 (fuel delivery module potential leak), my husband & I took our 2010 Mercury Mariner to lebanon Ford to perform recall "repair". We were not having an issue with the Mariner, but we were following Ford's instructions (via their mailed recall notice to us) to have the recall done. Now, our Mariner is messed up! it now won't start without a delayed crank (we have video recordings of how long it now takes for our Mariner to start!) & sometimes while driving, the Mariner jerks (both problems seem to be as though the car is not getting fuel). We made a 2nd trip to lebanon Ford after informing them of the issue they created, but they did not fix the delayed crank issue or the car jerking issue! lebanon Ford service is stating they can only perform the recall repair "according to Ford's guidelines". My husband asked lebanon Ford if the old parts could be put back on, but lebanon Ford said they had to send back the old parts to the manufacturer. So, now our once nice Mariner has significant issues because we had a recall "repair" done! we regret having the recall addressed! prior to the recall "repair", we had a nice Mariner with under 60k miles. Now, we have a Mariner with problems due to recall. It's not a repair! it's damage! further, they're not offering us any fix to the damage Ford did to our car.

26 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2014

Car felt like it was running out of gas. We pulled off the street and shut it down and waited,we had plenty of gas. We started it back up and it seemed ok, the engine and power train lights remained on. Since I had taken it in for the recall already and we were close to southgate Ford we pulled into the service area I spoke to the service person and was told it would cost 600. 00 to fix. I mentioned the recall, he said that was just for the software we then left an went to auto zone where they put their diagnostic tool on the car and the print out read there was a problem with the throttle body. Ford dealers refuse to replace the throttle body under the recall.

27 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2014

My vehicle suddenly stalled when I was driving and no matter how much I tried to press on the gas. . . It would not move safely. I was very lucky because this was at a traffic intersection on beechmont and eight mile. I proceeded to drive it to the enterprise parking lot albeit it was extremely slow and I had cars honking at me because of the lights on the intersection. The mechanic repair shop says it's the throttle body.

28 Other Fuel System problem

During normal driving on the highway the engine lost power, the wrench light on the dash lit. The vehicle sputtered and suddenly decreased in speed, making for hazardous driving conditions. I moved to the side of the 4 lane highway and into the breakdown lane. I placed the vehicle in park, the engine idled roughly. I turned off and restarted the car and the symptoms were gone. A week later the same trouble returned. Please press fmc to resolve at no-cost to consumer the obvious and dangerous manufacture defect with a recall on the affected parts/system.

30 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2013

When accelerating through an intersection, my vehicle lost acceleration power and the power brakes failed. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle was slowly moved to a side street, backing-up traffic on the busy street. The vehicle was towed to a Ford dealership and the diagnosis was that throttle body needed replacing. The service cost me $503 plus tax.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2013

While driving upon a roadway in our neighboring community at approximately 30 mph, my 2010 Mercury Mariner suddenly stopped traveling at speed, and went into 'limp mode'. I was able to slowly pull the vehicle into a parking lot. I called my wrecker service and they towed (flatbed) my vehicle back to the Ford dealer where I bought it. I purchased the 2010 Mercury Mariner new from the same dealer. They examined it and determined that the 'throttle body' needed to be replaced. They declined to repair it under warranty, stating that the part was no longer covered. They also stated that a recall had not been issued. I paid a total of $409. 27 for the repair. The tow bill was covered under my membership in aaa.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2013

Driving to work on 1431, the car felt as though it hit a bump, lost all ability to drive. Pulled over to side of road, turned car off for about 10 to 15 seconds and then back on. At this point it seem to operate properly. Then about threee miles down the road it did the same thing again. This time there was no shoulder to pull off on, so traffic was tied up. Was traveling at about 40 mph this time. Did the same thing, turned off and then back on and seemed to work normal. Later that evening going home from work the car did the same thing, two more times before I reached home. One time as I was going from palmer to 1431 on a curve. The next time it was on a slight incline going home. The icon on dashboard was a wrench which indicates it had something to do with the throttle control. Took to dealer and they confirmed it was a defective throttle control unit, and charged $650 to repair. Beleieve that this is/was a serious problem safety wise and should have been covered by Ford.

33 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2013

I have 2012 Mercury Mariner and I’ve had issues with my car going limp. When I’m driving uphill, my car loses power, the ‘wrench’ light comes on and I have to pull over (coast over) to the side of the road and turn off my engine and restart my car. The dealer said it was throttle body. Even though my car is under the mileage warranty, it is just over the 3 year warranty. It will cost $436 to repair/replace. My car lost acceleration power without warning and put me in dangerous situations several times.

34 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2013

Driving to work at steady speed when all of a sudden the car lost acceleration. While I was able to steer to the side of the road, had I been in the middle of a turn or an entry on the highway, it could have resulted in an accident. Pulled over to side of the road. Turned off vehicle and restarted. Drove about 1/3 mile and it did it again. This time when I put the car in park and kept it running it felt like it was trying to jump out of gear and accelerate which was very scary. We determined by calling internet it was the throttle body. Called three Ford dealerships where they were all sold out and back-ordered. We found one at the fourth and put it on ourself in 30 minutes. Cost $180 p/n ds7z9e926d. Ford needs to do the right thing and recall the affected vehicles as they know it's a problem. They have multiple cars getting this problem fixed daily!!!!!!!.

35 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2013

Lost power while making a left turn vehicle stalled restarted but continued to stall towed to repair shop replaced the throttle body assembly.
