Drivers rear shock rusted off the wheel well causing wheel to snap and metal frame to hit the ground while I was traveling 40 mph. At this time the other wheels locked up and started squealing causing loss of control of vehicle shooting me across lanes and hitting curbs on both sides. This was heard all the way inside a church and they came running out. If I had not been able to gain control it would have flipped. The vehicle is available for inspection. It has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service other than the tow truck attendant telling me that the car need to be junk because it could not be repaired. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, or insurance company as it only has liability insurance. A police officer did show up on seen to direct traffic around vehicle and did see the issue but no report was taken. There was absolutely no indication that this was an issue until a few seconds before it snapped and that was the wheel started to wobble.

Driving home from work in the pouring rain going 45mp, my hood flew open, busted my windshield, damaged the hood and a few other things, I could not see where I was going as I was scared did not know what happened I finally pulled of the road and sat there confused, apparently the safety latch did not catch , this should never of happened, so going on 3 weeks and 2,500 in damages and no vechicle later we cannot understand how this could of happened.

Rear hatch window hinges cracked due to the metal deteriorating causing the window to shift and become loose and subject to falling away from the vehicle. I had the hinges replaced on 1-25-17 prior to any accident that could have resulted. My online research shows Ford has not taken any responsibility for the defective window hinge laches.
The front sub-frame has completely rusted out. We live in a salt zone (michigan). There is also visible corrosion throughout the exterior. We were driving and the front passenger wheel started bowing out and we started vibrating. We got to safety before anything happened.

She pulled into a patients driveway and stopped she went to put it in park and the car just took off into the house. She (the driver) had to be taken to er. She had her foot on the brake still when the car took off. I have pictures of how the right front tire was dragged through the dirt while brake was applied. It damaged the home and did over 5000. 00 damage to the car. She insists it exelerated unexpectedly.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated she had noticed that the sub frame near the rear tires were were corroded. The vehicle was taken to collision center for body maintan and the inspector informed the contact that he noticed that the frame above the rear tires were manufactured with a foam like substance and when it rains or the vehicle was washed, it had absorb the water, which caused the corrosion to spread inside out. The inspector also stated that the bumper could eventually separate from the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they stated that they were aware of the failure, however, would not compensate the contact because there were not enough complaints regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000. Gb.
Rear hatch doesn't seal tightly, resulting in leak when it's raining- then because of leak (I think) the rear defrost doesn't work- and I'm in michigan! also, the sealcoat on the rims chipped/wore off? this resulted in rims rusting and when I had tires replaced, now the tire won't seal to the rim edge because of pitting. Now I have no rear defrost, a leaking lift gate, and have to replace rims because the sealcoat failure allowed my rims to rust. The lift gate and rear defrost failure happened a couple months after my warranty time expired (my car only has 25k miles on it); and the rim I just found out after replacing all four tires due to 'dry rot' (not worn down) from the car not getting driven all the time.

The failure and the current mileages were 110,000.
