The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner. While driving approximately 15 mph, the front driver's side door fell off the vehicle. The contact had to pull the vehicle over and temporarily tie the door while driving the vehicle home. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that it was due to a manufacturer defect and was installed incorrectly. They replaced the driver's side upper hinge under warranty, but the contact believes that the failure should be recalled. The current and failure mileages were 35,800. Updated 3/16/09
