1 Car Slowed Down On Its Own problem of the 2010 Mercury Mariner

Failure Date: 08/17/2013

Very dangerous throttle body malfunction: as I was accelerating from approximately 35 mph I pressed the gas and suddenly there was no power. . . Nothing. I had power steering and brakes but the car slowed down rapidly and went into what I later found out was safe mode. It was idling rough and the car was slowing down rapidly because I was on a slight incline. A wrench appeared on the dashboard. This happened four more time in three days. The throttle body was replaced. This was extremely dangerous because where this occured the speed limit was 55 mph, I do a lot of highway driving and I was very lucky this did not happen on the expressway. No code appeared on the diagnostic code reader even though this occured four more times.
