While driving, consumer noticed vibration and a steering problem, vehicle was taken to a Ford dealer for inspection and informed of the left front tire showing signs of tread separation, tires are firstone wilderness at p235/75r15 dot w2hl.

1997, Mercury, mountineer. Consumer does not know if the firestone wilderness (p235 75 r15) tires are the original ones. Left rear tire had a bubble, about the size of a fist, forming on the tire. Tokk to firestone, and they replaced tire. Dot # w2hl1py476.

Tires not under recall/I found cracks around the side wall all around the threat on the inside and outside of tire, all four tires are the same. I check the tires back in August when the recall first came out and there was no cracks in the tires. I will be replacing the tires and keeping the old tires hoping that the recall will be expaned. Looking at the other failures that have been listed , I found other threat seperation on wildernees tires that are not cover by recall. ( dot number: vhhl tire size: p235/15 ).

Pe 00 020/tire tread separation: while parked, noticed front tires showed sign of tread separation from top of tire, where tread meets. Tires mounted on a 1997 Mercury, Mountaineer; original equipment, p235/75r15, dot# w2hl. Firestone was not notified at this time.

Firestone wilderness at tire p235/75r15 experienced tread separation, prior to failure consuemr heard a bumping noise and slowed down, when inspecting tire the belts were sticking out, consumer replaced all 5 tires.

Because of a recent flat tire, I realized the tires I had. All my tires have the tread cracking both inside and out but the firestone dealership has said because there are 50,000 miles on the vehicle, warranty is no longer valid! after 3 inspections at other tire dealerships, my tires have wear of 7/32 to 10/32. Wouldn't there be less tread if the tires were the original on the car? (dot number: vn tiresize: p235/75r15).

Pe-00-020-tire size p23575r15, dot number w2hl1py257, and tires only had 22000 miles on them. When driving at 65 mph on a very hot day driver's side frontal tread completely came apart in pieces, causing loss of vehicle control. Vehicle was damaged. Consumer contacted a tire inspection company, inspector noted that belt within the tread separated which looked to be a defect. Please provide any further details. After media publicity on the tire matter, I inspected tires on vehicle stated. All four tires have a separation between the tread and the sidewall around the entire circumference. The separation is both on the inside and outside sidewalls. I took the vehicle to the dealership where purchased, and they in turn sent me to the local firestone dealer. The manager of the store observed the separations and commented that he had never seen anything like it before. He said that I would have to wait for the recall notice from firestone. I am a resident of the state of illinois and we are among the last states to be considered for the recall (by year end 2001). Meanwhile, I feel that this is a safety issue that concerns my family that needs to be addressed sooner than 2001. I appreciate any help you can give on this concern. Pe00 020; consumer was traveling about 65mph on highway and heard a loud thumping noise. Right rear tire tread had separated. There was no sidewall , and tread was stranded. Actually, they were driving on the rim. Tire was firestone wilderness #at. There were no injuriues, and they had to replace the tire and rim. Firestone wilderness at p235/75/r15.

While driving freeway speed, my rear left tire experienced tread separation causing me to lose control of my vehicle. It was noted that this tire was still completely inflated, only the tread was missing. A witness directly behind my vehicle watched the tread come off of my tire and hit her car. At the accident scene, a firefighter told me of the news special on cbs channel 2 news that aired July 25th. I broke my hand, broke a rib, and badly sprained my neck. I am now paying for a rental car. I am a single mother of three. I would like to be made aware of any updating information on the firestone tire investigation. I have lots of pictures of the tire, and I even have access to the tire (until they total my car - which may be soon) it is still inflated. It looks as if it was scalped. Thank you! ( dot number: ).

Firestone wilderness at tires (p235 75 r15) experienced tread separation, there was also damage to the fender and the back tail light, consumer later had trouble with the alignment so a dealer replaced the tires at a discounted price, the consumer is requesting reimbursement for the damages to the vehicle, the replacement tires, and the spare tire that has not yet been replaced.

The left rear tire tread came off and damaged the brake system and rear panel. We were going approx. 50 miles per hr. The tire did not go flat but did catch on fire. The firestone dealer in alexander city, ala. Replaced the tire and repaired the brake system. Total cost $985. 75. The cost to repair panel is $534. 21. Firestone in kennasaw, GA. Replaced all four tires on Aug. 5, 2000, at a cost to me of $100. 00. I would like to receive reimbursement for all my costs related to the tire recall. I have all receipts if needed.
