Brake pedal gets and remains hard (pedal at full top) while at highway and then at local street speeds. Although this has happened twice and reported to dealer at service time (10/26/2000 & 05/22/2001), when it does happen it is constant. Feels like the brakes are activated, and sometimes problem causes the car to vibrate serverly , causing concern of possible accident. Dealer could not verify my concern at both instances.
Only on wet / snowy roads vehicle would not stop when brake are applied. Dealer was notified, and refused to look or inspect vehicle. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.

There is a short in the abs controller system which causes the fuse for the fan blower to blow therefore there is no heat and no abs which makes the car inoperable. When I took my car into the Ford dealer there was another lady with the same problem.
Power steering is lost when driving thru puddles or wet street. Does not happen all the time. Battery light remains on for short distance and brakes become very noisey. Cannot control car at this point and must stop until power steering comes back. Almost went off road and into bank when turning and this happened. Dealership has not fixed this problem yet, and will be taking the car into the shop today because this problem continues. 9/15/00. It happens during rain, of if puddles are in parking lot.
After the "abs" warning light came on, the car was taken to a dealer who after a few days of investigation said that "mm needs electric hcu harness and module" with an estimated cost of $1500 to repair. It seems that a wiring harness should last more that 3 years, espically on a braking system. Ford offered to pick up 50% of the repair, but the premature failure of the abs system seems to be a design defect that should be Ford's responsibility to repair. Form completed by frank p frandina (owner's father) - day phone 716 632 7200.
