Headlights are malfunctioning. My 17yo daughter got pulled over because only her high beams were working. The regular headlights are dim. Very dangerous. This happens at all times and unexpectedly.

The contact owns a 1999 Mercury Mystique. The contact noticed moisture in the driver's side headlight. In addition, the driver's side tail light dripped water into the trunk when it was opened. She noticed that the moisture was always present, especially after it rained. The vehicle has not been diagnosed. The current mileage is 51,504 and failure mileage was approximately 48,246. Updated 07/07/08. The passenger side seat belt was inoperable, the timing belt was replaced. Updated.

: the contact stated the headlights covers clouded up on the inside causing limited lighting distance. The dealership has been alerted and no recalls were found. The dealership explained the buffing would improve the problem not correct it. Updated 06/16/06.
Consumer has a concern about the plastic lens over the headlight are discoloring and causes poor visibility when driving at night. Dealer was notified. Please provide any further information.
Both headlight lens assemblies have become cloudy/hazy, so the light emitted is greatly reduced, creating an unsafe driving condition. Replacement cost is $400 plus labor. I feel Ford should cover this, as the assemblies are obviously defective, and this is a safety issue.
Head lights go out when driving, and there are no brake lights. Also, passenger's side seatback will not stay up. Consumer feels this is unsafe. Please provide any further information.
Consumer took vehicle in for recall 99v103000/anufacturer's recall 99s14. Recall was noted as repaired, but it wasn't working when leaving dealership. Tail lights & panel light were malfunctioning,they were coming on & going off.

While it was raining driver's head lamp got soaked with rain, and caused low beam light to go out, which may cause visual difficulties. Also, passenger's side was soaked. But, bulb did no go out. Dealer said it was a common problem.

Taillights and headlights are working intermittently.
Directional lamp socket keeps blowing bulbs. When using t blinker system, right side light flickers very fast before the bulb blows. Deaelr has been contacted.
Consumer is disappointed with the number (6) of recalls that have been issued on this vehicle. Nlm.
Headlight lenses developed a cloudy white discoloration that reduced the lights illumination. The headlight lenses were replaced at 36,000. Now that the vehicle has 64000 miles the problem has recurred.
