Two problems related to engine exhaust system have been reported for the 1996 Mercury Sable. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle started to act sluggish, engine check light came on. Vehicle was not operating properly. Took to dealer who said that it was a multi-function relay switch that caused air pump not function properly.
Owner had heater core replaced 3 times,and fumes still enter into the vehicle, owner thinks fumes can cause fire.
