9/16/15 took vehicle to riverside Mitsubishi due to the airbag popping out on the passenger side. Airbag was replaced and issued resolved. On 1/25/16 had to return the vehicle to riverside Mitsubishi due to a bad rattle on the passenger side dash area, the airbag was removed and the screws and bolts were re-torqued and reinstalled the airbag. On 4/22/19 took vehicle to auto gallery Mitsubishi -murrieta due to the airbag and airbag hatch had again popped out again. The technician at Mitsubishi-murrieta said they do not have a technician that can adequately diagnose and fix the problem and the airbag manufacturer was no longer in business. We also contact Mitsubishi corporate office and was told the Mitsubishi does not manufacture the hatch or dash parts any longer. The vehicle was parked at the Mitsubishi -murrieta for 48 hr and requested us to pick up with nothing resolved and no repairs made, along with no paperwork given to us.
I was getting on the freeway when I lost control of my vehicle out of no where, luckily I was in the middle of the on ramp and not in freeway traffic yet. My vehicle pulled toward the drive side, I quickly pulled e-brake turned my wheel opposite of traffic and braked. The car started fish tailing right to left because of the drive side pulling and me trying not to allow the car to spin out or go off the side of the on ramp. When the vehicle came to a stop I made sure my family and I were safe and no other vehicle were involved. Got out to the vehicle to find my drive side tire bent in my fender my axles in half and tire blown, I called for a tow and paid out of pocket for tow and parts plus repairs. I also have fuel pressure problems, srs light, secondary air injection malfunction. My fuel pressure relay is black, the smog technician said the vehicle has recall issues that need to be addressed.
Takata airbag: my incident has already been reported. I am adding the police report. I am still requiring surgery and unable to use my left arm 10 months later.

Passenger airbag deployed caused me to veer off to the right for safety. Passenger visor flew off hit my arm and flew out window. Unable to see with airbag in my face I ended up half on and half off a culvert with cement pipe. Car stopped and then my driver airbag shot fire and chemicals into my face. Horrible still after a whole year noone cares noone helps no therapy follow up none only er when I can no longer tolerate the extreme pain. 2 titanium rods n 38 screws hold it together. Some screws are coming off and 3 bones are still shattered. Some are even missing. Please help.
Please verify if this vehicle has takata airbags that are being recalled for safety reasons. If this vehicle does have the takata bags, what procedure do I follow with the Mitsubishi dealers to correct this serious problem. Thank you. S thompson.
The airbag on the passenger side won't deploy if its in a accident. The dash pad on the passenger airbag side is elevated and out of its position by around 2-3 inches with the passenger airbag sign on. Surprised to see similar issue by other customers as well here. Looks like is a common complaint and need to be fixed by Mitsubishi. God forbid if there is any incident.

The leather on the dashboard is lifting which will cause a problem if the airbag is deployed. It will not fit back into the lip of the dashboard which sticks up and is going to cause a problem when the airbag is deployed I have asked Mitsubishi to fix it as it should be a recall and they refused.
The lady crossed two lanes of traffic and ran a red light and hit my car on drivers side front including the door. Door willn't open and airbags didn't deploy. The car was towed cause it couldn't start and wasn't drivable. Seat belts didn't lock so the people in my car hit steering, dashboard and back of the seats. My car was hit in the front in Dec. 5, 2013 and same thing happened. Airbags didn't deploy and seatbelts didn't lock. From the accident before I made a complaint with Mitsubishi and they done nothing. Thanks for your time.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The contact stated there was a whining sound emitted from the breaks, after the breaks where applied and released. This failure continued until the vehicle is turned off. The contact also indicated that the seat belt and srs light is continuously illuminated in the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to dealer . The manufacture was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 25,040. Rg.
Dash of my car starting on the passenger side just started popping apart it's come apart all the way up to the radio and now my passenger airbag keeps light keeps coming on.
Dash has splite apart at seam on passenger side in front of airbag I feel there is a default in the air bag.
My car was hit by a driver who ran a red light when I was making a left hand turn. The point of impact was the passenger side front. The other driver hit me at approximately 60 mph. None of the airbags deployed. Thank god my seatbelts worked properly and I escaped the accident with very minor injuries. It is quite a concern the airbags failed. The accident happened yesterday and my insurance company feels it is a total loss. This severe of an accident should have triggered the air bags. I think an investigation should be conducted on 2007 airbags before someone gets killed.
Drivers airbag deployed while turning into a parking space. Airbag deployment caused bruising and lacerations to neck and chest.
The airbag cover on the passenger side is peeling off. I feel that if I tried to glue it or modify it in any way, this action could result in the airbag not deploying like it should and cause serious injury incase of an accident.

I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse and it kept going to the left side when you drive it, either in town or on the highway. It start happening after the 2 month from the day I bought it. The dealer said they fixed the problem by making an alignment, but the same things happened after 2 months and I went to the dealer about this issue about 4 times in 1 year and after that they told me we can't do anything if this problem kept occurring. So I stopped going until a week ago I was in crash because the car moved to the left of the street and I hit a wall.
Son driving a Eclipse ran off the road and hit a tree going 55 mph and the air bags never came out resulting in the death of only child.
Me and my wife where recently in a car accident our rolled into a ditch and the airbags on the drivers side and the passengers side did not deploy. . I felt like our lives where in danger because of this malfunction.
I was in a car accident. We were hit on the front corner of the drivers side. We were going 35mph and the other driver was going about that speed. He was turning from the opposite direction and turned right into us. I'm not sure if you would describe it as head on because it was at an angle. The whole front of our car was crushed in. The battery and radiator were pushed up near the dash. I was the passenger. My seat belt didn't lock up and my air bag didn't go off. I hit the rear view mirror and my knees slammed into the dash. I also twisted a vertebrae in my back and bruised or cracked a rib. It's been over 6 months and I still have trouble walking because I have tendinitis in my left knee and I have fluid on my knee from the impact. My fiance㉠was driving. His knees hit the dash and one of them still bothers him. He has injuries to the tendons in his shoulder and he has a 2. 8 mm cut in his thoracic spinal chord. His air bag did not go off either. Both of us had horrible bruising from the force of the crash. I believe our airbags should have gone off. The guy who hit us had very minor damage done to his vehicle and his air bags went off.
I was leaving my driveway and something popped and hit me in the right eye. After stopping car on the side of the street,I heard more popping sounds and a piece of the dash hit the windshield. After looking at the dash I found 4 cracks in the dash material, 2 of the vent grates had popped off. This could have caused me to have an accident if I was in a more congested area at the time. I have had to put tape onto the dash to keep from more pieces from hitting me or my occupants.

The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The horn will sound without warning. Occasionally, the horn will not sound when pressed. The only way to stop the horn from blowing was to remove the fuse. The manufacturer was unable to diagnose the failure. The dealer attempted to repair the vehicle four times by replacing the horns twice and performing maintenance to the air bag, yet the problem recurred. The contact has a repair invoice. The current mileage was 19,000, and failure mileage was 13,000.
While driving home from work on 12/8/05,I was involved in a rear impact collision, my vehicle sustained heavy rear damage as well as heavy front end damage not one of the air bags systems deployed as the vehicles manual stated it would, which resulted in myself being severely injured, the vehicle was a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS,less than a month old,I feel the vehicle is defective, and would like someone to look in to this matter.
My Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder 2004 (VIN #4a3ae55h24e095068), done nearly 21,000 miles met with an accident on July 25, 2005. It veered off the road, went downhill for over twenty feet and collided head-on with a tree to come to a halt. The front of the vehicle was severely damaged. Despite the front-ended crash, the air bags failed to inflate. The severity of the crash is evident from the fact that the vehicle was categorized as a "total loss" by my insurance company. I believe the air bag should have gone off as a result of the impact.
