: the contact stated while driving, there was slight vibration in the rear of the vehicle. While the vehicle was pulled into the emergency lane for inspection the right rear tire rolled onto the highway. The sidewall completely disinterested and the tire came off the rim. The psi was at 30 for highway use, but the manufacturer recommended psi of 40. There were no obvious road hazards that could have caused the failure. The tire was a toyo, 22535zr18. The tire has not been replaced due to the damage the rim sustained.

One of my goodyear eagle rsa p215/50/r17 tires had a nail in the traid of the tire. When I took it to goodyear to my surprise there was a crack in the inside sidewall that would have blown out on the road. There was no cracking on the outside so I had no idea.

I bought my 2003 Eclipse gt in March of 2004. At approximately 30,000 miles two bulges suddenlyappeared on left side front and rear tires (one bulge on each). When the car was taken to the goodyear retailer I was told it was the result of running over pot holes. However, the position of the bulges doesn't suggest so. The tires are goodyear rsas which came stock on the car. The tire size is p215/vr17.
On highway with 65 mph, front tire (bridgestone potenza re92 p205/55r) blewout with no reason. There was a quarter sized hole on the sidewall. This caused damage to rim as well. Bridgestone authorized dealer did not accept this as a defective tire even though tires should be covered under manufacturer's warranty. I had to buy a new tire and rim and paid tow.
Consumer noticed that both falken tires, size 225/40cr-18 were splitting on the sidewall. Vehicle had only 7,000 miles on them. The dealership had not yet notified.
Two out of four tires had bulges coming out of the sidewalls after less than 14,000 miles. Took them to goodyear and they blamed it on me. They said the plys delaminated because I was running into too many potholes (which I wasn't). I've never had a tire do this before. I think the rsa's are an accident waiting to happen and a serious investigation needs to be initiated on these tires, especially the low-profile version. My tire size is p215/50vr17 , and came stock on my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse gts.
I have 17 inch alluminum wheels on a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse gt. Under normal driving rims bend and tires loose air resulting in weaken tires and bloww out under norma driving conditions. Not safe. Must check tire pressure daily. Metal used is soft and allows space between ties and rims. Tires fail. One tire blew on highway due to sidewall failure potential safety problem to me and public. Rims are too soft.

3 tires failed in 1 year -- tread completely separated from outer sidewall (can put your hand inside). In most recent failure, a nail was found to have penetrated tread, causing the air to escape prior to tire failure. Separation runs 360 degrees around the tire. (dot number: m612 ener tiresize: p205/55r16).
