My vehicle has the same problem as 2006-2008 model years of the same car. That is, the heater controller signal to the hvac system codes as u111, and consequently the a/c will not turn on at all, but indicator light shows it to be on. The compressor is not receiving the signal from the controller. The dealer says this recall (number 10v514000) does not cover 2005 cars.

Standing water on driver side floor. Hvac drain plug is clogged and now warning lights for many different items are appearing on dash display and this is caused by water running through. I do not know of many auto makers that put drain plug under dash board. This could very well turn into an electrical and or fire hazard. Contacted dealer and was told this was the first they have heard of this. There are many many many complaints online so they do know about the problem.

The contact was included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v139000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
Noise of sloshing water in the trunk and water dripping onto the driver's floor; soaking wet carpet. Very bad odor! causing a sick feeling. Rear passenger windows failed; right and left approximately six months apart. The malfunction caused the windows to fall down into the door panel. Roaring noise coming from both front and rear wheels.
The ignition key got stuck, key cannot be removed from ignition.
I was driving along the highway, I smelled what seems to be burning plastic, I saw smoke from under my glove compartment, suddenly my a/c stop working. Upon inspection I notice that the electrical plug to the fan motor looked charred/burnt. I removed it for safety reasons. I read over the internet that is a common problem with these vehicles, the item should be recalled.
Air conditioning water drains into the vehicle causing clogging and flooding of the drivers side floor the mileage is only115k. This causes bad odor, growth of microorganisms and could lead to accidents because the floor on the drivers side becomes slippery. Took it to the dealer but they said they have been receiving same complaints. They inspected it for 30 minutes and said looks like the problem has been fixed. Next day after using the air condition for about an hour the floor was flooded again.
I was driving the vehicle home from work when I smelled electrical wire burning through out the car. It was coming from under the glove compartment. I pulled off the road to investigate. The connector to the a/c & heater motor was charred. During internet research I discovered that this is very common occurrence. What people have said on-line was that it was a poor design, thus the connecting pins are too close which causes them to heat up and char the connector. If I would have had a new paper or backpack in that area, it could cause a fire while driving resulting in a fatal accident. I tried reconnecting, that part I used was charred a second time. I believe it should be recalled by the manufacturer.
It looks like that the Mitsubishi Endeavor has design defects where the a/c water leaks inside the car. I started to notice water under driver and rear seats. I thought that this is due to rain but when I took it for repair the mechanic told me that this is due to the a/c and the water is not draining out instead it is draining inside. I also went to the dealership here in jacksonville, FL and they also told me that this is a know problem and happens with this model. They told me that I have to either replace the compressor for $800 or they can clean and do something that will temporarily fix the problem costing $189. They also told me that there is no recall even though they know that this is a manufacturing defect. There is no guarantee that this problem will not happen even if I replace the compressor. Which is insane!!! searching the internet reviled that a lot of people are having the same issue. So far I drained more than 3 gallons of water from under the driver and rear passenger seats. I cannot use a/c in hot florida weather. So much water inside the car can also cause short circuit even fire. I believe this is a serious problem which Mitsubishi should recall and fix.
While air conditioner is running and vehicle is in motion, blower stops blowing cold air, water drips inside vehicle on passenger side floor gets soaked with water and moldy smell inside vehicle. When making turns, you can hear water sloshing around inside the dashboard, and what sounds like static or sparks behind the dash. Water sometimes run over onto the gas and brake pedals, casing a dangerous situation. Blower motor has since stopped working as a result of water constantly running down on it.
Car hesitates or tries to stall while making right hand turns as well as the steering does not always want to auto correct after completion of a right hand turn. This seems to be very dangerous when trying to turn on a busy street.

The initial issue is the seat belts in the rear fail to return and/or do not come out. The more recent issue is the rear tailgate which is now failing to open unless done mechanically by climbing over back seat and attempting to access switch internally. We are being told by our mechanic that it is an issue with the internal computer.
My 2004 Endeavor has had water leaking on driver's side front floor. Based on the volume of complaints in this forum and others, I would suggest that this is an issue that should be recalled and covered as a manufacturer defect. If it is not recalled, perhaps a class action lawsuit is in order.
The consumer had to take the vehicle into the dealer because none of the windows would roll down, and the doors would not lock or unlock from the driver side remote button. A whining noise was heard in the transmission. Windshield wiper blades would not turn off. Warning light in the dash continues to come on.
No event leading to failure. Several electrical itmes in the car stopped working- radio, display, dealer are currently trying to locate problem, they believe a ground wire is loose.
