Ignition Switch Problems of Mitsubishi Endeavor

The contact owns a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The contact stated that the ignition switch failed. The vehicle was unresponsive when shifted into drive and the contact attempted to accelerate. In addition, the neutral indicator would illuminate erroneously when the vehicle was shifted into drive. The vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 08v139000 (electrical system: ignition switch). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the contact was told that the warranty on the repair had ended. The failure mileage was 142,000 and the current mileage was 142,700.

Mitsubishi Endeavor 2004, 48k miles, moving at approx 40 miles per hour, passenger front door panel near the lock and window switches began smoking and quickly filled the entire vehicle with smoke sufficient to obscure all vision.
