Automatic Transmission Cooler Problems of Mitsubishi Galant

The insured stated that possibly, the cooler line caused fire. (claim#43-r857-994).

Vehicle experienced fire in the engine compartment, possibly caused by a faulty transmission cooler line, claim 43-r857-994.

Vehicle was taken to the dealer for a leak. Dealer stated it was coming from transmission. Dealer corrected the problem, and within 15 minutes, consumer pulled over/ got out, and watched vehicle catch on fire. Vehicle was totalled. Please provide any further information.

While driving, vehicle began sputtering, consumer pulled over to see flames and smoke, there was a recall, c0104c, regarding sparking in the engine which could cause a fire, also, transmission cooler line was found defective, the fires cause is unknown. Ohio traffic crash report.

There is a recall on transmission hose. Consumer took vehicle into dealer, and deaelr did not want to do the job.

At 32,383 miles dealer replaced transmission due to leakeage. Currently,at present mileages, transmission stopped operating while driving. Dealer notified, and informed consumer vehicle was out of its warranty. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.

Vehicle overheated and there was black smoke coming from underneath. Also, transmission fluid was leaking.

Had 800 miles on vehicle when the transmission started leaking fluids. Took vehicle back to dealer & was informed the LS axle clip had popped out & needed to be replaced.

Transmission fluid ran out from the bottom of the car/insurance did not fix transmission.
