Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Mitsubishi Lancer - part 1

Accident that resulted in the car being declared total loss. The car was hit in the upper front and side area of drivers side. During the accident the air bags did not deploy. Resulted in injuries, of course. The car was making left handed turn from residential area onto a busy main street. And the other vehicle was not paying attention and hit the car while it was trying to turn. The car was going approximately 15-20 mph. The other vehicle was going 40-45 mph. What would cause the air bags to malfunction?? because I would love to know why injuries had to even occur since they only happened due to the malfunction of the air bags.

Son was driving vehicle rear ended a vehicle, at 35 mph, rolled Mitsubishi 8 to 9 times, sled on roof about 50 feet before coming to a stop up side down. Airbags never deployed. Not even when the tow truck flipped car right side up.

My husband was in an accident and over corrected hit an embankment and a tree and this pushed him back into the road and spin shooting him into another embankment and this resulted in him being forced backwards and into another ditch on the other side of the road hitting a mailbox and another ditch. The airbag never deployed and the seat broke as if he was laying down to sleep but it was broke into this position. He hit his face on the steering wheel and injured his eye some how and the hospital said that it was due to the airbag not deploying. Why did his seat get throwed back like that and break please explain. I could have lost my husband. .

This car we own was in a accident the whole front end was pushed in cause it hit a Mercury mountaineer. The geico adjuster couldnt beleive that the airbags did not deploy nor the seatbelt retracted! the only thing that saved my wife was the seatbelt for a sec and hitting the steering wheel. I lost control of my vehicle due to snow and slush off a tractor trailer hitting the back end of my car. The tractor trailer was going about 80mph past me as I was going only 60mph, due to my car being front wheel drive it caused me to spin out and lose control of the car. I crossed into the left lane of traffic (not hitting anyone) and then back into the right lane where I then proceeded to go off the road down an embankment. I bashed my head against the driver side window as I lost control, I then hit my head again against the window as the rear end of my car hit a tree stomp. Through hitting the tree stomp it caused my passenger side airbags to deploy but not the driver side, side airbags. Due to the driver side, side airbags not deploying as I hit the tree stomp my head smacked against the driver window extremely hard and caused me to get a concussion.

I was traveling southbound on the florida turnpike, I was on the left hand lane when I looked through the rearview mirror and noticed a vehicle behind doing about 80-90 miles per hour. I merged to the middle lane so that they could continue on. They were recklessly driving and they swerved to my lane, I proceeded to swerve to avoid getting hit and when I tried to hit the brakes they jammed on me. I lost control of the car and hit the right divider with the front of my car, the car proceeded to spin out of control and every angle of the car was hit with divider and then I ended up in the middle lane facing traffic. Only 3 out of 8 airbags deployed. The main airbag which was the steering wheel airbag and knee airbags did not deploy. The car is claimed to be a total loss by geico.

I was involved in a major accident yesterday 8/26/04 and neither of my frontal airbags deployed. With the impact that the car took there is no way that the air bags would not deploy!.
