1 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 01/22/2019

Takata recall. Had original airbag replaced 2 yrs ago. Received a letter from Mitsubishi stating I needed to have it done again. I called customer service for Mitsubishi when I learned they no longer have a Mitsubishi dealership locally. I was advised at that time that the nearest dealership , in either direction, was 4-5 hours from where I live. I was advised that I needed to call all the mechanics in the area to find one that is certified by Mitsubishi! if I could find one and they were Mitsubishi certified, the work would be done and Mitsubishi would pay for it. However, they need to have current certification. I have called a few dealerships in the area, but no one has a certification for Mitsubishi. I didn't install the bad airbags. I would have to travel to either of these dealerships, spend the night in a motel, wait for the appointment and work to be done, and drive home. This is ridiculous! in the meantime, I have received a second letter from Mitsubishi stating that I shouldn't allow anyone to ride in the passenger seat of the car until it's repaired. I don't know if the drivers side airbag is any good either. I would appreciate all the help you can give me. I feel like my car at the present time is useless. I'm in fear of driving even to the grocery store.

3 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 02/08/2018

Received notice of a recall on the pass. Side airbag. Called local dealer, out of business (greenville Mitsubishi). Next closest dealer is 2 counties away (don herring Mitsubishi plano), spoke to benny. Said it's a 5-hour repair and they are open on Saturday, but will not perform the recall on Saturday. Due to the distance involved, it's unreasonable to tow or drop off my vehicle, and like many, I don't have 8-9 hours to lose to fix Mitsubishi's issue (drive and repair time, plus considering light north dallas traffic). I'm unable to provide the exorbitant time this dealer requires of me to physically be present for the repair, and I don't know who would be. Missing work, plus literal expenses for something I had no part in is wrong, as is the 50+ mile cab or uber fair that would be required to make the return trip during the repair. At that point, this becomes a bill, not a safety recall. And my wife is the only passenger in the front seat of the vehicle. Recall site sent me here to file a complaint if the dealer was unable to perform this recall in a timely manner. Need resolution on this matter that doesn't cost me more than the repair itself.

6 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 11/14/2009

Hi my name is fernando santiago and the reason I'm writing this email is because I'm an owner of a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer that I lease on April of 2007. Now the problem is that I was driving the other day and my side airbags on my driver side deployed for no apparent reason I could of killed myself or cause a major accident. I took the car to the dealer and services said that they need to get the car checked out I explain to them that I didn't crash the car I was just driving but I guess they don't believe me when there's no damages to the body of the car. Now they come back and tell me that Mitsubishi is not going to fix the damages and for me to contact my car insurance and make a report so they can fix the problem b/c the warranty is not responsible for what happened and they not giving me a loaner car. I been a loyal customer with this company my 1st car was a galant I think they should take into consideration that I'm leasing a car with this company and help me out by getting my car fix at no cost. This is a safety issue is not like I cause the damages if it was up to me I wouldn't even want this car back no more b/c I have kids and is not a very safe ride. So what I'm asking here if that if Mitsubishi want to keep me as a loyal customer and keep having me leasing cars from their dealer I would appreciate if they go out their way just how they do when they selling a car and help me out here, I'm loosing work hours and my kids are loosened days of work b/c I don't have a car to get back and fourth. I look forward to hear from you.
