Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer. The contact stated that the recall notification was received more than four weeks ago and the contact was not able to schedule the recall repair. The dealer indicated that the part was not available for the two recall repairs. The contact was included in NHTSA campaign id number: 14v562000 (engine and engine cooling) and 12e012000 (exterior lighting). The contact also called the manufacturer who indicated that the part was not available. The contact in conclusion had no estimated timeframe to determine when both recalls will be performed. The manufacturer and dealer were notified several times of the safety concerns to schedule the appointments. Dyd.
Shortly after starting the engine; take a turn left and then made¿¿; I turn on the abs light shortly after engine light lit too and, days later, the abs light went out. The next day I started the engine; running the car at 15 to 35 miles, sounds a hit; in the transmission and abs light comes on again. This has been doing so far.

When hitting the volume control/hands free system buttons on the steering wheel they get mixed up. If I hit volume down it triggers the hands free system so I have to hit volume up which works in order to get the volume down button to finally correct itself. It's only just started doing this within the past couple months.
The vehicles kick plate where all the wires connect are all corroded its a major problem with all evos there should be a recall to get this problem fixed.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer. The contact stated while driving 70 mph the vehicle suddenly ran out of fuel. The contact was unaware of the low fuel in the vehicle due to the fuel gauge reading three quarters of a tank. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The results shown a defective fuel sensor. The dealer replaced the fuel sensor but that did not remedy the problem. The contact stated the fuel sensor was replaced twice. None of the repairs have remedied the defective fuel gauge reading. The contact did not call the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 24,830. Jo.

I was driving northbound on the CA is-15 north at approximately 5:55 pm pst between the exits of 138/wrightwood and the route 395/joshua street exit. I was traveling in the fast lane going about 68-72 mph. I got a "service required" error light flashing, then the "slow down" light came on with a picture of a thermometer. I checked the temperature gauge (which is displayed on the led screen by the speedometer, not the usual independent gauge) and the temperature showed that it was right in the middle, which should be working great. I slowed down to 50 mph as I merged from the #1 (fast) lane to the slow lane by the road shoulder and my engine lost power. Luckily I had enough power to get over to the should before the usual line of semi-trucks blew past me. I checked the coolant, oil, and ctv trans fluid levels, all were at capacity. This is the second time that I had experienced this issue. The first time was this same time last year (August, 2012). I had bought the car used in July 2012. The first time this occurred the dealership (victorville Mitsubishi) fixed it under TSB 10-23-005. At that point the car only had 46,000 miles on it. I plan to take the car back into the dealer this Saturday, provided I can make it back up the hill today and tomorrow. This is a really serious problem and I hope it becomes an official recall. Luckily I wasn't run off the road or rear ended and killed with the loss of power issue due to the faulty sensor.
Acd pump failed and dealership wouldn't cover it car was still under warranty!!.

The temperature control knob was very hard to turn on the ac/heater module and eventually broke off. A failure of the temperature selection could result in inability to defrost the windshield properly, resulting in unsafe driving environment.
Requested dealer to repair under warranty a problem which can cause vehicle to become inoperable at temperatures of 20 below zero as documented in Mitsubishi TSB-10-13-002. Was advised by dealer and later by Mitsubishi customer relations that this would not be covered by warranty since the problem has not occurred on this specific vehicle. I recommend that this TSB be considered for a possible recall in those parts of the country where the temperature regularly goes to 20 below zero. Having a disabled vehicle at that temperature is a safety issue.
I got into my car to start and it would turn over but not start. After replacing the fuel pump, checking all the fuses and relays, still the same problem. The wire harness fuse block that sits inside the drivers foot well has been corroded by water from a leak in the fire wall. This is a very common problem that even goes back to the previous generation , evo vii, and wasn't fixed for the following generation, evo ix.
I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer and the temperature control knob in the vehicle has been difficult to turn since I bought the car. The knob broke off two weeks ago. I contacted my dealer who stated that I can not just change the knob I have to change the whole unit which will cost me around $ 600. 00 plus services fees to install it. This should be a recall item, since heating (and cooling) a vehicle allows it to be operable during hot and cold temperatures. It is now beginning to get cold.

As im driving down the highway 95 or i4, my car in the odemeter area prompts the car to slow down on the car slows down on the highway until it stops. This is very dangerous as it slows down traffic when diving on the highway. This car then have to cool down for 20 mintues . This car can not drive in traffic for no more than two hours then it slows down and stop.
This is a complaint I have seen on other websites from thousands of other Mitsubishi Lancers from 2000- 2005, but mainky in the 2002 model range. The heater/air conditioner controls sieze up and either the cable freezes up and the control knob snaps off on the temperature controls. To me this is a safety concern not necesarily for the use of the vechicle, but rather for the health of the driver and those who who ride in the vechicle. They could freeze in the winter or get heat stroke in the summer.
I own a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer sportback. The heater and cooling control knob for interior heating and cooling will not change over from air conditioning to heat. In the area that I live it is very cold in the winter months ( 20 - 30 degrees). According to research I have done on this issue it is s known issue at Mitsubishi. This is a safety hazard due to the heating system not working to defrost my windshield when needed and no heat. If Mitsubishi knows this is an issue then why is there not a recall to correct the problem. I have located many complaints with this and it is on newer models as well. So new products are coming out with the same issue. This needs to be resolved before more vehicles are produced and the used one need to be fixed so that owners do not run into a hazardous condition that could have been avoided.

Temperature knob was always difficult to turn, then it broke completely off. Not a problem for the summer (it's stuck on cold) but needs to be fixed for the winter so that the car can defrost the windshield. Technician said it would be between $1500-2000 to repair because you have to remove the dashboard and replace the entire knob panel plus fix the real problem which is the "air mix door lever". Apparently this is a common problem for mistubishi owners and the company has not done a recall to fix it; therefore owners are dropping $1000s of dollars to get their car operational for seasonal temp changes. Isn't it a safety hazard if your defroster does not work???.
I was driving down the road and heard a pop noise. Smoke came rolling out from underneath my front drivers side seat. I stopped and looked, but found no fire. Now the speakers do not work and the box underneath my seat smells like smoke. There was no fire, but definitely could have been.
I've had my 09 Lancer since July of 2008. I haven't had any problems up until recently. For about the past month now, on four occasions, usually in the morning, when I go to start my car it just wont start. It makes the same sound as if my car was to start, but just doesn't. So I have to wait and keep trying to get it to start. I brought it to the dealership where I purchased it (girard Mitsubishi) on 4/1/09 and the mechanic had said he ran it through the computer and couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Headlights keep failing. Was pulled over after having just replaced a bulb and notified the bulb was out again. Blamed the shop that replaced the bulb, and had them put in another. Then when driving a long distance drive, as I began to get dark, another motorist flashed me to notify me that I did not have headlights on, even though they were in the on position. Both low beams had gone out and would only work on high beams. I was lucky that the motorist notified me, and that the lights did not blow after dark while I was driving. This is a huge safety concern. Took to shop, diagnostic was run and 1st thought was the ecu for headlights, ordered part, installed and 30 seconds after running lights, blew the new ecu part. Currently only 1 headlight works, and only on high beams. Sometimes it does not work even on high beams. If unplugged & plugged back in, only then will it work, but only on high beams. There is some sort of electrical malfunction, but mechanics have been unable to determine the problem. Taking back again Monday 4/27 for another attempt to find the problem. In the meantime, I continue to have to drive an unsafe vehicle, when circumstances require me to drive after dark. All mitzubishi dealers & service in my town have gone out of business and the closest dealer is 2 hours away. I cannot afford to 1. Take the time to drive it down. 2. Get a rental car while they try to figure out the problem. I have purchased numerous bulbs prior to knowing there was an electrical issue, and have spent hundreds of dollars on diagnostics & attempted repairs. None of the other electrical components of the car have failed. Only the headlights.

All three brake lights stopped working with no warning. 1. Normal driving to and from work, unsure of anything leading up to failure. Was alerted by another driver that was behind me while driving and then pulled up next to me at a light. Was lucky there was no crash. 2. Lights are completely out, have not been able to get them back on 3. Have checked the fuse as labeled in the manufacturers handbook, checked the brake light switch, checked the light bulbs, all are in ok fashion and work when tested separately.
I had just left my home. I had not been driving for more than 2 minutes when my front speakers shut off. I then start to notice a burning smell. I see the interior start to fill up with smoke. I thought it was an engine fire at first until I noticed a fire in my passenger door speaker. I pulled over but was not able to extinguish the flames. I made a call to 911 to send the fire department. Thankfully the fire house was very close and was able to put the fire out before it damaged more than just the door. I have the door and subsequent damage scheduled to be repaired Aug 18th 2008. I have not taken apart, replaced, or upgraded any dash, radio or electrical component of the car. I don't know what would have caused this. Additionally I am also missing the heat and a/c knob as it broke off last winter.
I had purchased a brand new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer in April 2007. After having the car only 2 weeks, it would not start. I brought it into the dealership where it was tested and examined. All tests came back perfect. From then on my car would intermittently not start. Every time I brought it to the dealership. It was in the shop 6 time for a total of about 3 1/2 weeks! nothing could be detected therefore nothing was ever fixed!! I filed a claim with Mitsubishi and my car was finally deemed a lemon. I had received another brand new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer in October 2007. Now it being about 2 weeks since having the car, I am experiencing the same problem!!!! the car just won't start. There has to be someone else that owns one of these cars that is having the same issues??!! I cannot be the only person that purchased two brand new cars that turned out to be lemons!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

My hot/cool knob is broken. My heater fan only works on 4, ac only runs on 1,2 or3. I also had water on my passenger side floor due to condensation from the ac not properly draining. The water also got into my blower motor, which I have already replaced. Will be replacing heater resistor this week, so I can use my ac again. Hot/cool knob will cost at least $1000 to fix, so it's staying broken.
Sensor one had an internal failure. Mitisubishi service tech stated it was due to the bad gas in north carolina. According to that it would be manufacturing problem. But was told since no recalls, would have to pay $400 plus tax to have it fixed. If not fixed would affect the catalytic converter and would cause the car not to run.
I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer sportback. The fan control unit is defective and was fixed once at the dealership of purchase however, since that time fan has repeatedly malfunctioned in terms of it running during the entire time that the vehicle is in operation in addition to it staying on even after the engine is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition.
: the contact stated while parked with the engine idling, the driver air bag deployed without warning. It was removed and an hour later while driving 45 mph, the passenger side air bag deployed, which fractured the windshield. The vehicle was towed to the residence. Although the vehicle was not inspected, the dealer was alerted and indicated the problem was most likely an electrical short due to flooding.
I purchased a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ralliart sedan and paid it off in full upon reciept of the vehicle. In the past few years I have been experiencing numerous electrical issues, however my primary concern today is a sensor that is currently being replaced for the 5th time today. The sensor is called the app sensor. When it goes out, it causes my vehicle to rapidly decelerate and the engine won't rev past 2,500 rpm's. This has become an issue because two days ago the sensor went out on me again, after being replaced just weeks ago. This time when the sensor went out, it almost caused me to be involved in a major accident on i25. I have asked the service department why this part keeps failing on me and they replied "we don't know, your the only person we have had to replace this part for and dont know what could cause the part to go out. " this concerns me a great deal because if they dont know how to repair, how can I trust my safety whenever I am driving my car on the highway again? I have been dealing with the service manager at arapahoe Mitsubishi and service rep brian green. I have receipts of all repairs and can send them to you if you need them.
My car caught on fire while I was driving it down the street.
My heat and cooling control sticks and it hard to turn the knob from cold to heat and heat to cold. The piece finally broke 3 on 11/12/11. The unit now has to be changed under the dashboard which I am unable to do while driving, when my windows are foggy I have to drive with them been foggy if it is not in the right position. It appears to be a known issue with mitis. Since I see many issues with this online. Thanks for your time jen.
The hot/cold switch broke off. Since I bought this car it has been difficult to turn the switch for temperature control. Both knobs are damaged and now im not able to control the direction of the air neither the temperature. This has to be a manufacture defect since. During my research online I've found many similar problems like this one. Mitsubishi should make a recall and fix it .
My p300 error code comes on my Lancer evolution randomly while driving around.
