One problem related to brake fluid leak has been reported for the 1997 Mitsubishi Montero. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Left front brake lines are too close to air conditioner lines. Friction caused brakes line hose to have hole in it & leaked fluid. Was applying brakes & vehicle did not stop quickly. Had it repaired. Took to dealer & was reimbursed.
