I had an accident while driving down a hill in snowy weather. I have driven for 29 years so I am an experienced driver, having driven this road for eleven years. . . Without an accident. My neighbor was the first one to come to me after the accident and he said it looked as though my back wheels were locked up. I know not to hold the brakes. . . And I imagine that all four brakes would have slid had it been because the brakes were being held. I was headed for the ditch. . Hoping to be able to slow the car down without crashing and for some reason the vehicle just shot in the other direction and struck three trees head on. My air bags did not deploy and I don't believe that the seat belt caught either. . . I hit the steering wheel with my chest and hurt my neck and my teeth clacked together hurting them. I was wearing the seatbelt. I am questioning why the seat belts and air bags didn't work and wonder if there is a malfunction in the braking system and or the acceleration.

1- I was driving at 55mph(55 posted) on route 38/Lincoln highway in west chicago, IL and as I approached the intersection an individual did not yield and turned in front of my path. I put on brakes probably about 10-20 feet before I made a high speed impact with his passenger side rear wheel and quarter panel with my front end. My car took the impact on the front end and my airbags did not deploy. I believe I hit the other car at about 50mph and it seems that my airbags should have deployed. My car was deemed a total loss and was not repaired by the insurance company because the frame was bent and broken. I do not know if it would have helped but my neck was injured in the collision. My safety restraints worked properly luckily.

On June 21,2007 I was involved in an accident. The front of 2007 mitsibushi outlnder was crushed in. The car was 4 months old. The car has since been totaled due to about $13,000 worth of damage. The problem is that I was 9 months pregnant and the air bags failed to deploy. The body shop stated that they should have and that the crossbeam that holds the airbag sensor was what busted the radiator as well as the block. I could have been killed as well as my unborn child.
Airbags did not deploy.

The contact's vehicle was involved in a three car collision. Upon impact, the air bags did not deploy. The front end of the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was towed to the mechanic, and he determined that the wire for the sensor was torn. This should have made the airbags deploy. A police report taken at the scene.
