I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander sport ES 2wd has 21,500 miles. The front rotors have deep groves on the driver's side and smaller groves developing on the passenger side. I have never experiences any squealing when brakes are applied. It appears to be a defect with the rotors and/or brake disc pads. The dealer will not investigate and only speculate that the problem is caused by stones. I had a 2008 Mazda 3 sport with 65,000 miles prior to this Mitsubishi and never experienced a disc brake rotor problem. My other vehicle is a 2000 Ford f-350 170,000 miles and there are no signs of groves on the front rotors. I drive on streets and highway.

Vehicle was purchased in virginia with the assumption it would pass maryland inspection as it had passed virginia inspection. Front brake pads were worn too thin and the rotors were rusted. To pass maryland inspection is needed new front brake pads and rotors and would have needed rear pads also. Dealership refused to be responsible for the problem. The consumer stated the dealer provided a reimbursement and requested to withdraw the complaint.

2011 Mitsubishi overland. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle not passing inspection due to thin brake pads and too many knicks in the windshield. The consumer stated the failures were discovered two weeks after purchasing the vehicle. The dealer did not offer any assistance with having the vehicle repaired.
At approximately 18,500 miles I noticed that there was vibration in both the steering wheel and brake pedal when braking. Based on the mileage I figured it must be something wrong outside of the brakes - took it in for service at jeff d'ambrosio and was told that I needed front rotors, back rotors and back brake pads - and they would not be covered under the warranty. I took it to someone else to service the vehicle (kept the parts) and replaced the front brakes and rotors and will have the back done this weekend - parts were not available. The front driver side brakes showed uneven wear with the inner brake pad wearing at an angle. . . This is not normal wear and tear.

Front brakes squeak and lock up when cold, (mornings) dealer say it's normal. My friend has an Outlander and he does not have the same problem. I have taken it it 4 to 5 times. The brakes locking up nearly caused a collision from the car behind me.
