I purchased my vehicle 11/3/19, traded in my 2016 Mitsubishi for 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. 3 days later my lights went out and I took the car to victory Mitsubishi dealership in the bronx and they said it was a loose fuse. They tighted the fuse and my lights came on. On 11/26/19, I was on the cross bronx high way in traffic and drove but could not stop the car. My brakes failed. I got off the highway and called the police and geico. The police did not come and I had the car towed to juniors automotive center in the bronx. My geico adjuster will inspect the car on 12/4/19. I should not be going through this. I know my car will eventually be repaired but I do not feel safe driving the car.

The contact owns a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to 90 mph without warning. The contact depressed the brake pedal to slow the vehicle down, but the brake pedal failed. To avoid crashing into a motorcycle, the contact had to swerve to the left and crashed into a curb and fire hydrant. The vehicle then went airborne into a canal. The brake pedal connection detached. The contact sustained back, left leg, and neck injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a police impound lot. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was contacted. On 2/2/11 the brakes failed when my daughter's 2007 mistubishi Outlander was moved one car length forward in the dive way. The Outlander struck the rear of our 2002 Ford windstar. There have been 3 other incidents with this vehicle failing to stop when the brakes were applied, 2 of them resulted in accidents. I checked on-line for brake problems for Mitsubishi Outlander and found a recall for a defective "brake booster vacuum check valve" dated 3/10/2009 for 2008 and 2009 Mitsubishi Outlanders. The check valve "sticks" causing insufficient braking assit resulting in increased risk of crash. I checked the part numbers at the dealer for the defetive part. It is the same part usded in the brake system for my daughter's 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. Defective p/n 4630a055, replacement p/n 4630a187. Mitsubishi must be held accountable for this problem. How many lives has it taken??.
