Car Stall Problems of Mitsubishi Outlander

Car has rough idle, rpms idling and car stalls while shifting gears or at a stop. This is unsafe for the road. Car inspected at shop of my choosing. Has not been to dealer. No alerts on fashboard for check engine or service soon.

Within 16,000 miles of owning my I noticed it would randomly stall sometimes at the stop light of an intersection. It doesn't take long to start back up even accelerating . Several months went by where the issue was no longer present but over the past few month it started again. I get tune ups twice a year.

Vehicle started having rough idle at about 70,000 miles when air conditioner would be turned on. Rmp's would fluctuate between 500-1000. Now at about 90,000 miles vehicle has rough idle whether ac is on or not. Vehicle has stalled when changing gears, while waiting at a stop or when sitting in traffic. Today 3/24/21 vehicle stalled while entering an intersection which could have caused an accident. Vehicle also has a hesitation when trying to accelerate whether from a stop or from a coasting speed. Vehicle was taken to dealership on October 2019 for cvt8-ecm reflash as per recall but it only solved the acceleration problem for a couple of months. There should be another recall on this vehicle as these problems can cause personal injury/accident.

Several months went by where the issue was no longer present but over the past month it started again. Likely related to the whether now that winter is near. Finally my ebrake has never worked since I bought the car in early 2019 with 21k miles.

When reversing the vehicle if you switch it into drive to fast the vehicle completely stalls out, requiring you to put the vehicle in park, shut it off, restart the vehicle then go. This is completely dangerous. It is an accident waiting to happen and should not be happen on a brand new vehicle. This has been happening ever since I bought it brand new with less than 50 miles on it. This has happened to me pulling out of a parking space at a local grocery store, to backing out of my driveway to take the kids to school.

When it rains or after car wash gas fill compartment is full of water. There is no drain in there and the water sloshes around until it finally evaporates. Worried about water entering full tank. My guess is that they forgot to install a drain hole or tube. Sincerely:mr. G. Temesvari.

The contact called Ford of port richey at (727) 478-0975 (located at 10715 us-19, port richey, FL 34668) where the dealer stated that no recall was associated with the VIN. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 17v609000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified and stated that there was no recall associated with the VIN; however, a free diagnostic offer would be mailed. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.

At times, when pressing the gas to go from a stop my vehicle will try to stall and not go, I have to let off the gas and press again and hope it picks up that time.

There have been many problems the last couple years with my car, I noticed last year when I was on a long distance road trip that my transmission overheating light was coming on? I had to pull over a couple times and let it cool down before I could continue. . . It stopped doing it for awhile, and then now my car is losing accelleration on the freeway and seems to be stalling , it is very dangerous and no one at Mitsubishi or other shops knows whats wrong? please help.

New vehicle purchased Nov 16 2015. Two weeks after bought, vehicle began to slow down, then hesitate, stall out. The vehicle was put into shop due to a computer chip issue that occurred on 'the line. ' got vehicle back and same problem. Mitsubishi put back in shop and replaced the transmission in Dec 2015. Now same issue, stalling in lighted intersections, at stop signs, won't speed up, decelerates. Mitsubishi's answer? put back in shop and going back in today, Jan 12, 2016. Three times in less than three months I have had vehicle. I am afraid for my family member's safety while in the vehicle and my daughter in law who dries and rides in the vehicle is seven months pregnant. Please help us!! do not want anyone using these vehicles to get injured as Mitsubishi is aware of line problem and repairing many of these 2015's with same issue with no recall and will not replace the vehicle. Thank you.

Several problems with 2004 mistsubish Outlander. All fixed under warranty, except latest problem. Car won't run. Had to tow to dealership. Car shakes and engine cuts completely out. Dealership not cooperating, fixed the wrong thing, engine still cuts out/stalls, now saying I "overfilled the gas tank, ruining the charcoal fuel canister. " this is not covered under warranty?! there has to be another reason this happened. I have never overfilled or topped off my gas. I think they messed it up, or perhaps the gauges are wrong. If the gauges are wrong, it's a factory issue and should be covered under warranty!!!!.
