On the freeway transmission failure service light came on and the cars acceleration geared, had to immediately pull over on the side of the freeway, restarted the car with emergency lights to get out of the freeway. Vehicle would not accelerate much and the rpm was switching fast up and down. Check engine light came on the next day and the diagnosis read catalytic converter needs replacement. Car does not accelerate on hills, its shifts and tugs on a regular road.

I have a coolant leak with my egr cooler. The part is on back order for 90 days. Clearly the egr cooler is being replaced on these cars on a regular so there must be a defect if I can’t get my vehicle fixed for 90 days or more.

Distance sensor failed and dealership now states the bracket is bent and it is due to a front end collision but there is no damage to the vehicle, has never been in an accident. The sensor should be covered under the warranty but they want to charge $1715. 06 for repairs.

Vehicle trips the gfi on disconnect from charging. If vehicle finishes charging, no issue. If you pull the cable before completing full charge, trips the gfi. Have a prius hybrid using same charger and no issue. Have checked this with another Outlander and same issue. Unplugging it during charge cycle trips the gfi.
I am unsure of the proper name of the component with issues. There are several little issues but the main is, I believe it would be a software issue. . . Basically, on several different occasions (4) while driving at 60 mph and over, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off completely with no warning. The one incident which was the very first while I was driving less than 1 month ago. I was on a two lane road/freeway with another passenger in the back seat going somewhere between 60 and 65 mph. The car went completely black and everything shut down the entire vehicle, engine and all. I was in complete shock and end up scraping my front left rim on the curb I was next to, damaging the vehicle as a result. I am just recently out of my warranty and I do not have the funds to have it looked at just yet. I did inform the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from. I originally thought it was something maybe I had done to cause it. I also was completely unaware of any recalls on several of the year and model of my vehicle. When I looked up recalls on them, my vehicle has very similar issues to a lot of other cars like it that have already been recalled. I am upset because if I had known there were potential safety issues with these particular make and model car I would have not wanted to finance it, especially at the price point I have. It seems that several thousand were recalled a few months before I financed mine. Why wouldn’t I be notified that there could be potential safety issues when I was looking at the vehicle for purchase? now here we are and I don’t think it is a safe vehicle. I need to do something. . I am not sure I want to keep it honestly ! what can I do? please let me know at your earliest convenience. Check engine light is on. My car is still under 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. My local Mitsubishi dealership closed and the nearest one is hours away. I also have a recall. I have called Mitsubishi customer service several times only to be put on hold without the ability to talk to someone to get these problems solved.
My vehicle kept going into "limp mode" so I took it to the shop and they basically said $9,000 to replace. It's a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander sport which I purchased from carvana just over a year ago. After reading up on my vehicle, I found there were recalls on the cvt transmission the previous years because of the same exact issues. It's very unsafe because on more than one occasion, I pulled out of a parking lot and, drove for about a half a mile and then suddenly, my car loses power and starts to slow down in traffic. Now the expense to replace is just about what I owe on the vehicle. When I look online, there's many customers who have gone though the same thing. Now I have a car payment for the next 4 years on a car that I cannot safely drive. The issues from the previous years have not been resolved with the 2017 model year. I will continue to pay on it and leave it parked until there's a recall.

Cameras fail to work with the camera button or when vehicle is in reverse which causes the sensors not to work either. Therefore you cannot see if you are too close to something and the sensors dont go off to notify you that you are close too close to an object. Huge safety concerns.
I bought this car from market place face book , the seller deleted his account. After the sale, so I felt suspicious and search in the google using rhe VIN number and found out the mileage on VIN check page doesn’t match the number in the car.

In the morning where I live for the last few days it has been below 0. The Outlander phev even when plugged in over night will start the gas engine and drive for about one minute until the gas engine shuts off and comes up with a message saying power reduced with a turtle symbol. When it does this you have no heat (hvac) the heated seats and heated steering wheel does not work as well as the front and rear defrost. The car speed seems to be limited to about 40mph. This issue is not news as many phev owners are dealing with the same issue, from my understanding Mitsubishi didn't install a battery warmer on the new generation Outlander phev however the prior generation Outlander phev did have a battery warmer and there were no issues with that model in cold climates. Your vehicle should always be a reliable source of heat when needed it doesn't seem to be very reliable in cold climates and it really is a hazard when it decides to reduce power with no warning.
My car started with remote starter app x2. I went out to the car and it would not start. Indicator light said to put fob near start button. Still didn't start. Jump started and had multiple malfunction lights on. Replaced batter with brand new battery. Followed all instructions. Forward collision and blinds pot warning malfunction errors persist and those features will not work. Research shows this can can severe vehicle malfunction and cause an accident. Dealer can't look at it for 8 weeks.
The vehicle is not starting in 20 degree fahrenheit needing to be jumped every time it is cold. The phev has a full battery and there is gas in the tank and it has been doing this lately. Every test is coming back okay from the dealer now it says service engine.
Transmission light frequently comes on, car stalls/sluggish to respond. Has occurred while driving or at rest. No change despite several transmission servicing/towing expenses. Per online research, others experiencing same issues. Often resolves temporarily by turning off engine and restarting car. Recalls issued for other Mitsubishi models, but not for this car. Needs to be addressed to prevent injury or loss of life.
Rusted suspension crossbody unsafe to drive. The brakes and calibers seem to always seize as well making this vehicle a death trap no matter how many times I get it fixed.

I bought this car used less than 30 days ago. It had 21362 miles on it. It made a weird nose when putting it into drive. Thought it might be a heatshield. Took it to a Mitsubishi dealership for an outstanding recall. Ask them to check underneath. The exhaust pipe was rusted out. 3000 dollars to repair. The dealership didn't believe it cost that much so they used a mechanic they new to fix the issue 10/15/2024. We are not impressed with that repair. It seems the exhaust is not covered under the extended warranty. We feel that Mitsubishi should cover this because they do have a warranty of 5-6 years for the exhaust system. A car with this low mileage should not already have the exhaust rusted out.
As far as the engine, I received two different dashboard notification icons about engine issues. However, they both disappeared suddenly. Now, my car is starting to stall at random times. I looked to see if my car had a recall and it says my vehicle was not effected. But I'm wondering if it as. Also, my front collision warning is malfunctioning. There is a malfunction warning label on the dashboard.
So my push to start has to be pushed twice in order to crank the vehicle and when I first got the car about 9 months ago it didn’t do that and about since January the computer system failed twice and it showed a message about the computer system don’t remember exactly what it said and took a 1/2 to a hour to get it to come back one.

I took this car 2 times to the dealership about the same issue the steering wheel it has a lose parts inside keep giving a weird noise and the second issue the gas smell inside the cabin if you stop the vehicle on hot day and the ac running they are a very bad gas smell coming inside the cabin throw the ac vents I looked on this issue online alot of people have this issue dealership said can't smell nothing they don't want to put the work in to this issue I need help please even last night we smelled it its very bad alot they said on line other people that the gas tank vents on hot day the vent out the gas and its get in to the ac thats why we smell it but when you are driving you dont smell nothing but if you stop and keep the car running come back it will be inside the cabin full of gas smell coming from the vents I have a disabled son I can't keep going throw this issue and some people said that Mitsubishi know about it and they are working on it to fix I can't breath no more gas.
The backup camera view is not shown on the infotainment system. The screen goes blank. Checking the hidden menu, the backup camera view is available. This impacts reverse packing and hence safety of the pedestrians and passengers.
The hood vibrates. It looks as if the hood is popped, but not actually unlatched. I had the update done on my backup camera, and now it's starting to glitch with lines that go across the whole screen. It reminds me of regular nintendo in the '90s glitching out. And having to restart the whole system.
The battery in the key fob died. Upon attempting to turn the car on, the car completely shut off. Nothing works and is completely blacked out as if the battery is dead. Jumping the car with jumper cables rebooted the system but the same thing will happen only when the battery in the key fob dies.
Unknown. The transmission service light comes on and the vehicle drags until you turn the car off and restart it. I noticed online there's a cvt transmission recall and was wondering if this is what is happening to my vehicle.
I have a cvt system on my SUV and the transmission keeps slipping. A transmission light comes on and the car starts to stall. It happens mostly in stop and go traffic.
The lights on my clutch are not coming on. I’m concerned there are other electrical issues affecting the cluster and the odometer display.

I had a recall on this vehicle for the cvt software update which I got fixed by Mitsubishi at the dealership but now its doing the same thing and seems worse, everytime I push on the gas it does not excelerate and usually gets stuck at 30-45mph no matter how much I press on the gas, and the rpms get stuck at 3-4 thousand rpms which causes a safety threat when we are driving. I did some research and found out that this a well known issue with Mitsubishi and its Outlander sports vehicles I’m not sure what to do from here.

This is the second time the bushings on the rear motor (I believe they said inverter motor) have needed to be replaced. Currently the motor is being held by two of the three bushing. I was told by Mitsubishi that this is a common issue. If it's a common issue and if all three bushings failed, the rear motor would be displaced and could cause driver to have accident while driving the vehicle. My brakes are better made then these bushings, I have only had to replace my brakes once.

The key fobs aren't working ,vehicles are locking children inside and users are having to use manual key inside key fob to open. . Alot of people are not aware of key. . This is a huge saftey issue with summer coming. . We were in school drop off with 2 special ed kiddos and the car locked and would not unlock and when you go to the forum many many parents having kids locked inside cars. . . This started happening after the last computer update on my vehicle. . Dealer is attempting to fix Friday but definitely a issue on a vehicle only 8 months old.
“since April, I’ve had an issue with the caliper in my car, and as of today, October 16, victory Mitsubishi still hasn’t resolved it. I went back on July 4, and they told me they ordered the parts, but they’ve been on backorder since then. I’m still waiting, and my car’s brakes feel rough, plus the noise is really annoying. ”.
The shifter assembly was replaced by the manufacturer and I do not know if the item is available for inspection as the dealership handled the replacement. Mine and my daughters safety was put in danger on April 10, 2024 when I was turning into a parking space at my doctors office and went to put the car into park the car accelerated on its on over an embankment and into a busy 5 lane highway. When trying to stop the brakes failed several times and the only thing I could do to stop it was push the on off button to kill power to the engine. Upon stopping we looked at the car and saw quite a bit of damage to the car after going over the embankment and through several bushes and small trees. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and manufacturer. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership at which I bought the vehicle and by my insurance company. The week before the incident when trying to change shifts out of park into drive the car failed to shift and I had to turn the car off using the off on button to stop the power to the car and turn back on to get the car to shift out of park.
My parking brake locked up by itself. Took 4 trips to the mechanic to find out the module or switch is bad. It's 400 dollars just for the part. My drivers widow stopped going up thr tract stuck and bent it thsts 200 bucks. I have a 2019 Outlander theses problem was at 40k miles. Need some recalls.
I only had my car 6 months, this is second set of tires I have put on it and it the back ones right off. Also the hood shakes and wobbles while driving the vehicle down the road. I have consulted a lawyer because the rear suspension was fixed once with only 19,000 miles on the car.
The rear view camera doesn't work when I go backwards.
Master light came on and had me sign power of attorney papers and no lawyer or notary was present.
