The first incident happened prior to knowing about the fuel pump recall. My 16 year old was driving home with other 3 younger children and the vehicle just stopped driving while they were on the interstate. Thankfully he handled the situation well and was able to coast to the shoulder safely. At only 16 and a new driver, things could have gone very badly. I never dreamed my children would be in such a dangerous situation in my brand new vehicle. The vehicle would not do anything. I could not even lock the doors. It had to be drug onto a wrecker truck because everything was locked up. It was this incident that I learned about the recall. We had no vehicle for 4 days but the problem was “fixed”. Then a month later I was driving on the interstate and the vehicle just stopped driving again! it again completely locked up and nothing worked and had to be drug onto a wrecker. I went another few days with no vehicle and the dealership said they could not find anything. They suggested that I not let the gas go below 100 miles to empty that they thought the angle of the fuel line or something might be the issue. It’s scary driving knowing it could stop at any moment with no warning. I live in louisiana and I drive the causeway often. It’s the longest bridge over a body of water in the world. No shoulders, no way off. Just 24 miles over a lake. I’m scared to death every time I get on it. And after the last incident my hud and some other electrical things are no longer working. I have an appointment next week to have those things looked at.

Two issues: 1: since the purchase of the vehicle the hood would bounce up and down while on the highway. The service team acknowledged this was a known issue and advised they would resolve. It has been 3 month with no resolution. 2: when the gas mileage drops below 30 miles left to empty the display changes to “—“ and no longer comunicates mileage left to empty.
I received a recall in April 2022 for a fuel pump. I have been in and called 2 different Mitsubishi dealerships over 25 times to get this recall resolved. Each time they say they are out of the part and I was put on 2 different list to be called once they get the part. They keep telling me the parts are on back order. I feel that if they have a recall it shouldn’t take now it’s been 10 months for the dealerships to get the parts to have this fixed. I have to drive my car to go to work and doctor appointments, so it not being fixed it puts my life and anyone around me in danger if the fuel pump just stalls.
I have had a recall on my SUV since March 2022. Every time I call matt blat Mitsubishi they tell me they haven’t received parts yet. So I called Mitsubishi motors and was given a case number of 02621691 and was told a guy named caesar would be calling me. He never has. So here I sit wanting my brand new car fixed and I’m being told it can’t be done cuz no parts but the lady at Mitsubishi told me the parts were released months ago.
Back in October 2021 the vehicle in question stopped functioning while driving with our 12 year old and 10 months old baby in the back seat, a warning of engine malfunction showed up on the dashboard almost causing an accident. The vehicle was towed to the dealership and after a few days they didn't find anything. 5 months later and 7000 miles later we received the safety recall letter for what we believe is the same issue we had last year. In addition and after many calls an a few visits to the dealership they haven't been able to address nor fix the fluttering in the hood and rear bumper which we consider is really dangerous. Is Mitsubishi waiting for a tragedy to happen? they want us to drive this vehicle knowing that the engine may stall again and cause an accident.
Hood flutters.
The vehicle shows a check engine light after refueling. After some troubleshooting, I found that the issue is the cap-less fuel fill system. After some time, the check engine goes away. Or in some cases never does. This creates an issue because the vehicle does not remote start due to the present check engine light.
My transmission doesn't go into gear right away and doesn't drive right in automatic. If I switch it to manual and only go up to 5th gear it shifts fine. There was a transmission recall for same year make and model as mine. Those recalls happened around 80,000 miles. I have 84,000. I was previously told I needed either a fuel tank or fuel injectors, never got it diagnosed. My gas gauge reads full all the time even when I dont have gas.

Service engine light, slow emissions leak. It was at the gas cap. Rust around filler tube. Needed to remove rust so gas cap makes good deal. Slow accelerate with transmission and noise from lower control arm.
2015 Mitsubishi started sputterring while waiting for red light and hesitates when accelerating. Check engine came on. Looks like there are other similar complaints, but when I looked up the recall my vehicle is not included.
I was driving on I 75, me, 2 passengers and 7 animals deep. When out of no where my acceleration stopped and the rpms reved, the car started to slow down, I wasn't able to accelerate anymore. I costed to the side of the road and we were stuck. ! my cvt transmission is bad.

The mouth part where u put the fuel nozzle into ur vehicle is rusting very bad and I try to clean it out often but I'm still concerned that there are rusted pieces of metal still getting down into my actual gas tank. What can be done about this? I wouldn't think this piece would rust considering it's made to handle fuel.

My name is raymond, e-mail address is f14c@optonline. Net. I was at the victory Mitsubishi dealer for service on 7/20/19. I complaint about hesitation and reduce power when accelerating. I told them about the NHTSA campaign number: 16v563000 and Mitsubishii recall number sr-16-006 on this safety issue, they refused to entertain this potential risk because mmna did not list my VIN number as possible vehicle covered by this recall. They instead offered to charge me the throttle body cleaning and change the transmission fluid. I paid for the transmission fuel change at approximately 26. 600 miles in advance of the maintenance schedule. The car is still hesitating at various temperatures. I need this fixed!! and I would like an apology from the factory trained service technician that did not listen to my complaint!.

Has been happening for a few days now I try to start the car and it seems as it will fail me soon. I went to a mechanic and they told me it's a problem with the ignition or starter. It's a new car bought it brand new in 2017. I believe they should also recall the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. Also seat belts don't lock .

Traveling on freeway began experiencing hesitation in engine. Thought possible poor gas. Added 91 octane. Got back on road hesitation got worse. Engine light saying transmission service required. 20 miles from nearest town transmission stops and I am stranded on side of interstate 10.

No lights on. The vehicle is hesitage when driving.
Ever sense I have purchased this vehicle it has had a noise in the front. It sounds as if it is coming from the control arm. When it started getting worse I called to tell the guy I bought it from and he said there was a lot of people thinking this, but it is just a noise from the bottom of the car. This only happens in reverse and it sounds like a popping noise coming from the bottom passenger tire. I will have this looked at hopefully on Thursday. Also, I have a smell of gas coming from the engine when it either idles or is driven for a long period of time. I will hopefully have this checked out as well. Also, when the car is turned off I smell antifreeze. . . Badly in the car and also outside of it near the grill. Also, the transmission drags when I try to accelerate or if it has been driving for a long period of time.
Respectfully, we bought our brand new 2016 Outlander from the dealership this may. My wife rear ended a car less than a month later on the highway. She said the car didn¿t stop when she hit the brakes and that the brakes don¿t work. The car was repaired by geico for $20k damage paid and she said she wasn¿t driving it anymore. She had multiple injuries from the airbags and saw the doctor. After repairs, we ended up switching cars and the Outlander became my car and I noticed that it seemed very heavy like it was surging forward and resisted stopping. Two months later I changed the oil on the other car, so I asked her to take the Outlander just for the day. She didn¿t want to drive it, but I said just be very careful. She had a second accident that day on the highway causing $10k damages for repair and the air bags never deployed this time and her head, chest and knees hit hard against the steering wheel and dashboard and her back snapped and she is seeing a chiropractor now for the pain. She is a good driver and has never hit anyone from behind and now has done so two times in two months? again she told me the car didn¿t stop when she stepped on the brakes. Last week we received a factory recall notice in the mail for the accelerator. I took the car in this Saturday as soon as possible to have it repaired. When I drove the car after the repair and applied the brakes now in comparison to before it stops very well and is totally different. I believe Mitsubishi¿s defective acceleration system is the cause of my wife's injuries to her head, back and knees. This accident is not my wife¿s fault at all. I am sure that this defect in the accelerator system was the cause of the accidents and I am asking the NHTSA to please rectify this with Mitsubishi for us to find cause to be placed on Mitsubishi's faulty vehicle not us. Took my vehicle in on a recall it was hesitating when you entered the freeway or even taking off from red light the problem still exist this issue need to fixed it is a safety concern for myself also others on the road also my car give off false fuel readings brakes are horrible please someone help. . .
New vehicle purchased Nov 16 2015. Two weeks after bought, vehicle began to slow down, then hesitate, stall out. The vehicle was put into shop due to a computer chip issue that occurred on 'the line. ' got vehicle back and same problem. Mitsubishi put back in shop and replaced the transmission in Dec 2015. Now same issue, stalling in lighted intersections, at stop signs, won't speed up, decelerates. Mitsubishi's answer? put back in shop and going back in today, Jan 12, 2016. Three times in less than three months I have had vehicle. I am afraid for my family member's safety while in the vehicle and my daughter in law who dries and rides in the vehicle is seven months pregnant. Please help us!! do not want anyone using these vehicles to get injured as Mitsubishi is aware of line problem and repairing many of these 2015's with same issue with no recall and will not replace the vehicle. Thank you.
Yes I have a 2015 Outlander and I am have two issues with it. Number 1. Have the time the car doesnt want to start. I turn the key and it barely wants to turn over so I turn it off, wait a minute or two then I will try again and then it will start normally. The 2nd issue is the usually when I start the vehicle, I smell gas fumes like crazy. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they told me nothing was wrong. These issues are still not fixed and it is giving me a bad taste in my mouth having to deal with the two dealerships not very professional at all. I have witnesses two both of these issues and they keep telling me nothings wrong with the vehicle.
When I bought my car some time last year everything seemed fine but after a few months things started to go wrong on the car. It began with me constantly having to get the oil changed the the tires were bad the car started making noises that I couldn't explain and the tires in the tires in the back were constantly busting. The engine is now going bad and I have bought at least 10 sets of tires for the back in this year alone. I dont have the money to keep putting in this car and continue to pay the lease off for it as well. Its getting absolutely ridiculous.
