2 Structure problem of the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

Failure Date: 04/22/2025

The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal and attempting to make a left turn, the cross member attached to the control arm failed. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent center to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. 3 Structure problem of the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander

Failure Date: 10/12/2020

The contact owns a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated upon looking under the vehicle, the contact noticed that the whole frame and upper panel were completely rusted. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v867000 (structure). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was confirmed that the recall already had been performed prior to the contact owning the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

4 Structure problem of the 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander

Failure Date: 12/15/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander. While approximately 30-35 mph, a loud noise was heard when the brakes were depressed. The contact pulled the vehicle off the road, inspected underneath the vehicle, and noticed that the front driver side tire was up against the wheel well and that part of the tire link was rusted and separated. The front driver side tire link was damaged, but was not fractured. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
