Tl the contact owns a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated that a message displayed, indicating that the transmission was getting hot and to slow down. The contact was driving in stop and go traffic in hot weather at the time of the message. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission pump failed. The mechanic checked all over the nation and could not find a used transmission because of the recall issues. Fuccillo Mitsubishi (18822 us-11, watertown, NY 13601, (800) 244-1745) stated that the warranty was expired and the repair would cost more than $8,000. The manufacturer was contacted and rudely stated that they were not going to issue a recall just for the contact's vehicle and it was out of warranty. The failure mileage was 106,500.
