I had the car for less than a month. It had about 850 miles on it. I was driving on a flat service going between 25-30 mph. I was not using the adaptive cruise control. Without any warning, the car suddenly accelerated and I immediately felt like I had no control. I do not know how fast the car was going at that point. I tried to brake - I was practically standing on the brake pedal. It all happened very quickly but knew that I had no control over the car. The forward collision warning system did not activate and I hit the car in front of me, which in turn, hit the car in front of her. The airbags on the driver's side deployed. The car was deemed a total loss by the insurance adjuster. I informed the dealer. It is also mentioned in the police report.

I was making a turn out of a driveway across a three-lane streets into the left turn lane on the street in front of my children's school, while pulling out of the driveway and crossing the lanes, having clear distance to cross the lanes and visual confirmation from the oncoming drivers as they were waiting for me to proceed, my car abruptly stopped, it breaks on its own and left me across the three lanes sideways exposed to be t-boned. It would not start or move out of the stopped position. I tried to put the car in park and again in drive to no avail the car still would not budge. I had to completely turn off my vehicle and restart it in order to get out of the way of oncoming traffic.

The forward collision mitigation camera failed, prompting the center screen to continuously blink and beep uncontrollably with no ability to turn off the blinking or beeping. The constant blinking locks up all controls such that you are unable to adjust any of the settings, and the constant beeping is loud enough to cause the driver to be unable to reasonably hear their surroundings and cause annoyance/agitation to the driver. The problem was inspected & diagnosed by valley Mitsubishi in longmont, CO. The problem first appeared on [xxx] with the warning light first coming on in the morning and the continuous blinking/beeping/lockup occurring by evening that same day. Driving home with no other cars around the forward collision warning goes off for no reason losing power and slowing down on it's own. This has been an ongoing situation since the car was new, I've made numerous attempts to have my local dealership look into this situation and all they tell me is to take video when it happens.

My car started with remote starter app x2. I went out to the car and it would not start. Indicator light said to put fob near start button. Still didn't start. Jump started and had multiple malfunction lights on. Replaced batter with brand new battery. Followed all instructions. Forward collision and blinds pot warning malfunction errors persist and those features will not work. Research shows this can can severe vehicle malfunction and cause an accident. Dealer can't look at it for 8 weeks.

As far as the engine, I received two different dashboard notification icons about engine issues. However, they both disappeared suddenly. Now, my car is starting to stall at random times. I looked to see if my car had a recall and it says my vehicle was not effected. But I'm wondering if it as. Also, my front collision warning is malfunctioning. There is a malfunction warning label on the dashboard.

The software system in regard to the bsw and fcm. The car tried to put itself in reverse while we were driving. Yes, the problem has been reproduced on the computer only. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being looked at now. The transmission service light came on, the fcm temporarily not available, came on, and the bsw light came on.

I had a wreck 12/05/2023 the rear ended a commercial truck it didn’t give me any indication ahead it didn’t not slow my vehicle down or brake I just slammed right into the vehicle 23 feet in front with no warning so now the truck is saying crash malfunction it just abs and lane change in dictation nothing.

The warning light starts flashing to alert me it is not active, this happened periodically but the dealer was unable to see it happen. Saw it happening so I went to take it to the dealer but didn’t notice the car in front of me due to the flashing light taking my attention and hit the car in front of me.

I was parked in my family yard and my dash service symbols just came on 5 at once. I have not been involved in any collision or any trauma to the vehicle. Those lights are the fcm, lfw, ahb, and asc service required lights. The fcm will come on go off and come back on. I am concerned that these issues can cause a crash or other issue on road. I have not had this issue before and again my vehicle was at a standstill but it was running.

Ok button on steering wheel got stuck in while driving and it turns off all anti collision systems.

My windshield has cracked three times I have only had the car for a year these cracks all happened within 6 months of each I do not drive behind trucks I do not have rocks that are coming and hitting it there are no chips and it's always cracking in the same space almost directly in the middle. This has got to be a defect. I have gone to two different places to have it replaced so it cannot be bad workmanship. And twice the crack has appeared overnight another reason I know it's not rocks and I just have really bad luck.

Unexpected collision warning and emergency braking application on may 8, 2023 at approximately 5:55pm local time. Traveling southbound on beneva road in sarasota FL at 35 mph. Closest intersection parkland avenue. Two lane southbound configuration. Subject vehicle was in the rightmost lane with a pickup truck in the left southbound lane. Pickup's rear bumper was adjacent to the front of subject vehicle's front bumper. Pickup was slowly passing subject vehicle. There was also a bicycle on the sidewalk to the west of the subject vehicle. All of the sudden the collision warning alerted and the subject vehicle performed an emergency braking application. Vehicle slowed to about 10 mph before the emergency braking was released and driver was able to recover car operation.

The sensors will go off for a collision when no cars are around. The automatic emergency break will break when not close to any cars.

Nothing but issues with the safety of this vehicle since I purchased it. Hood flutters while driving. Backup camera stops working. Audio stops working. Front end collision sensors constantly say they're blocked and can't function even when the car is clean amd its sunny outside. The dealership says they can't ever reproduce any of the issues when I take it in. They did replace the hood but it still seems to flutter a bit when driving above 50 mph. All 4 tires have severe edgewear and the vehicle doesn't even have 17000 miles on it. I have had nothing but issue after issue with this vehicle since purchasing it in may of 2022.

Whenever I was attempting to pull out into traffic the Outlander had little power to the point where in the middle of the turn it hesitated to accelerate so much that I was afraid I would get hit so I had no choice but to swerve over to the shoulder to avoid a collision. I took it to two different Mitsubishi dealers and were told by both that they could not find any problems with the transmission even though I know what I have been through with the lack of power ,hesitating, and noises that I have recorded on my phone coming from the transmission when I change gears.

Brought vehicle in for recall repair for the software update. The update failed and also caused the tcm module to fail. Its been over a week since I last had my vehicle and the service shop is still waiting for the replacement modules which is on "backorder".

Following a car they stopped all of a sudden collision warning did not activate and did not try to break had to stomp on the pedal to stop. Parking sensors do not activate until you are 2 or 3 inches away from hitting it.

4wd error. You can feel a small kick from the transmission before the error occurs.

Was driving through a sand storm at about 65mph. Forward collision sensor had to be turned off as when the wind and sand hit car, the car kept giving warning. Also hood shock aggressively. Was scared that it will pop open.

My wife was parked and inadvertently put the Outlander in gear while turned around to get something from the back seat. By the time she noticed the Outlander was moving they ran into the front end of a SUV about 20 feet away. No warning alerts went off nor did the imminent crash braking engage.

Front collision mitigation system, fcm, failed on frontal impact and airbags did not deploy. Vehicle did not activate audible or display emergency warning signals prior to frontal impact. We filed a complaint with Mitsubishi motors national cr, and director of service with many calls, voicemails and emails just fell on deaf ears. Their response documented in the case report on the last call we made to Mitsubishi motors on 6/17/22 the cr rep said the decision is final and that they would not do anything, and we should contact our insurance. Mitsubishi's not only "did not inspect the vehicle" but also never inquired with any intelligent questions as to why the airbags and fcm system failed to operate. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone and is currently in my garage with less then 400 miles on it and is available for inspection. No prior warning lights were displayed. The dashboard currently displays crash signal and forward warning lights.

I purchased this vehicle on 12/24/2021. Today 01/03/2022 I was taking it to the dealership for a very severe case of the hood fluttering and my forward collision warning came on for no reason and began flashing and I got the message that the system is off. I informed the dealership about it and they said there was some glitch in the system and they reset it. At about one mile from home after leaving the dealership, the same warning came on. I'm afraid that in an emergency situation where and when needed the system will not respond as designed.

Forward collision warning light comes on with no car in front of me and car starts braking. I did see that Mitsubishi was recalling these cars with this particular problem but I have not received a recall notice.

The hood has fluttered since I bought the car on 7/29/21. I brought the issue to the dealership's attention, but they denied hearing any other complaints. While I was waiting at the dealership for an oil change, I was talking to other Outlander owners, and they expressed the same concern. I also have an issue with the front collison senor. Since day one, the sensor will disengage in direct sunlight, fog, and rain, making the feature useless. Once again, when brought up to the dealership, I was informed the case this was a one-off and they had not heard or seen any issues reported to Mitsubishi. And as of today, it appears my alternator has gone out.

Good morning. Mitsubishi attempted fix at my hood flutter recall in July 2021 and problem still active. Hood bounces and flutters and is very distracting. There is no permanent fix at this time. Also, the forward collision included in the mipilot is not active. When looking at the manual, the image of a “car” appears when system is engaged. For my vehicle, this is not showing as active. Again, no fix or remedy from dealer and Mitsubishi tech support. Very unsettling as this would really assist with distracted driving while the hood is bouncing around.

While traveling on the freeway at 70mph, the car suddenly started flashing warnings of "ev system required stop safely", "rbs service required!", and the service engine soon light came on. Also, I wasn't able to accelerate over 20mph. I quickly exited the freeway and turned off the car. When I restarted it, the car seemed to operate normally as far as the acceleration, but the service engine light soon light remained and the "brake!" forward collision mitigation system started to randomly kick in. Interestingly, in the week leading up to the system shutting down the forward collision mitigation system had randomly kicked in a few times, but I assumed there was something low in the road I wasn't seeing. I've also experienced issues with the audio system and rear camera in the week leading up to this incident; the rear camera twice never appeared when in reverse and the audio source would erratically switch from xm radio to apple car play on its own. The vehicle had just under 1,700 miles on it when this happened.

Fcm keeps blinking and alarm sounding when I started the car. My car been service at car dealership since purchased. After 100k miles they now discovered catalic converter need to be replaced per dealership. But nothing about fcm problem.

When driving the vehicle and a approaching another vehicle, person bicycle or object, the fcm, forward collision mitigation system is suppose to slow the vehicle down and eventually stop the vehicle and give and audible alert. It does nothing. I took the vehicle to cerritos Mitsubishi in California and asked them to fix the problem. They connected the vehicle to their computer for diagnosis and a code came back under system name: fcm/ldw/ahb, and under diagnostic trouble code c1809 (system temporary not available). I was told by the service manager that they needed me to leave the vehicle and they needed to call Mitsubishi to find out what that code was for. They call me back that evening and said the vehicle was ready to be picked up and said it was working fine. I went out on a test drive with the head mechanic the fcm was still doing the same thing and he said he could not find a problem with the system. I suspect that they just cleared the code and gave the vehicle back to me. I took the vehicle to puenta hills Mitsubishi (where I had purchased the vehicle from) and left it over the weekend. I was told by the service manager that they needed me to leave the vehicle and they needed to call Mitsubishi to find out what that code was for, again. They call me back that evening and said the vehicle was ready to be picked up and said they drove it and could not find a problem. The fcm (forward collision mitigation) still does not slow the vehicle down and eventually stop the vehicle or give and audible alert. It does nothing.
