However, dealer refuses to honor policy and charged for service.

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

Check engine light comes on. Shop runs diagnostics and all systems, independently are working, however collective issue. I. E. Mass air flow sensor code reads as broken, but sensor is independently fine when tested. Multiple systems read out with error codes, but all are fine when tested separately to further analyze. No connection between multiple codes - random assortment. Vehicle fails emissions test due to these errors. Shop now states they have found tbs on this problem through Nissan & there is a part requiring a swap out. My vehicle has experienced this issue for 6+ months. Huge time & financial burden to bring car in & out of shop. Vehicle unable to get re-registered due to faulty computer system.

3 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2018

I had a check engine light that was for a problem with my catalytic converter. I had it replaced with an after market that went out 13 months later.

4 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2018

2 weeks back I was driving and suddenly car slowed down. The rpm was very high but the speed was around 20mph. Looked like transmission stuck at lower gear. Last week I was driving about 100ft of uphill and it could not tow. Only one person and lost power in gas. No matter how much I pressed the gas, the rpm was low and could not pull car uphill. Yesterday my check engine light came on and today my dealer says there is problem with transmission. Something inside the transmission needs to be replaced. Recently less than year ago, they replaced few things which was under power train warranty. Now I have 63k and out of warranty. The total cost is about $1300. 00. How can such a reputed brand car have so many transmission problems within a year? this is my first and last Nissan.

5 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2018

My vehicle stalled as I was going through an intersection. Would not start and I coasted to the side and had to get a tow. Check engine lite was on. No codes found. Car sat for a week and then started right up and drove fine. Check engine light turned off. Car started stalling again only when I put it into drive or reverse, and as long as I put it into neutral and gave it gas, then threw it into drive I would be able to drive it. Still no light on. Car drove semi good for a week or so, seemed to run a little rough but didn't stall out. A few days ago it started to not take gas and rev up on its own. I would start to go and the car would accelerate by itself. When I was on highway, or regular roads. Usually under 50 miles an hour. Tachometer would rev even though car didn't seem to go any faster. Then it just stopped taking gas all together. Now today it just stopped going. I would give it gas and it wouldn't go anywhere. I shut off and turned on and it would go for a little and then stop. Now check engine lite came on and the first code p0776 is for a bulletin that went out and the the other code is for p0965. Pictures are attached. I have been afraid to drive the car, worried that I will get into a crash. I googled the problem and saw that a lot of other people are having the similar problems. The mileage is at 77,000. The majority of the other people I read had around the same mileage. Is this a problem that Nissan should be taking care of?.

6 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2018

I have a 2013 Nissan Altima with 45k miles on it. The car starts up and idles in park just fine. However, when I shift it into gear (drive or reverse), the car sputters and stalls. It doesn't sputter and stall until I take my foot off the brake. I am able to drive it just fine if I immediately press on the gas after shifting into drive. The check engine light turns on only when the car stalls. I took it to Nissan there was no code recorded - not sure why. It happened with me 5 times in a row in a day.

7 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph, the rpms fluctuated and the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was able to be driven under 40 mph or the rpms would fluctuate. In addition, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed transmission fuel/ service sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact than took the vehicle to the dealer and informed them of the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the repair for the failure was not covered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,525. The VIN was not available.

8 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

The check engine light has been on since September 2015. I have visited the dealer three times (until end-Jan 2015) and there is no resolution. I have a metro mile tag that transmits me error codes and as per that the problem is p0037 - ho2s heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 2 the dealer has not been able to resolve it and it is a absolute waste of time getting the vehicle to the dealer so many times.

9 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2013

Well the main selling point on this vehicle is that the dealer told me they were top in mpg's with 27 city and 38 highway. After a week or so I noticed that my mpg average is no more than 23. 1. And that was with more than 50% travel on highways with no traffic(never went under the speed limit). I figured it had something to do with it being new and it would average out better later. So after 5,000 miles on the car I took it in and they told me that this is just because every driver averages different and I kept saying but I am not even getting close to the 27 city and I drive more highway. But they told me that everything is normal and they reset the average calculator. After a week it was worse than it was before and I was bringing it back for my many other problems I have with this car. They had my car for 4 days and finally told me that while they had it a check engine light came on saying that my air fuel ratio sensor was faulty. They replaced it and told me that was the fix. I have put about a tanks worth of mileage on it since and I am getting uner 23 mpg still. Either something is very wrong with my car or Nissan is lying about the mpg's and yes I get that they are presented by the epa but Nissan does the test first then sends it to the epa and then the epa tests later on. Either way the mpg's are wrong and I drive to try to get the best mpg's I don't even go over 2,000 rpm's unless going up hill. Which brings me to the vibration fromt the trans. But thats in another complaint. Nissan needs to fix this problem becasue I chose this over the Honda accord just for the mpg's.

10 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2012

When turning my car cut off a few different times and you can hear a pop noise when turning coming from the right tire,I took may car to Nissan I was advised that they couldnt find a code and didnt no why it cut off, and didnt hear the noise, or feel the slack in the steering wheel, my car was there at 7996 miles and out at 7996 miles which means no one test drove the car to even try to see what was going on they did a so called dianogtic which the check engine light didnt even come on. And I was told they drove my car to see what I was talking about. 4 months later it do the same thing but being that they didnt do what they said the first time I didnt take it back. In 12/14 it did it again while getting on and off the freeway and coming to a stop took it to Nissan and was told I needed a air filter which was changed 2 oil changes before this happened. Took it home and it cut off many more times, now 4/15 it did it again but worse sitting in traffic it cut off and everytime I start it and put in drive it cut of but will go in reverse and it jerk really bad, and when it do go its hesitate and when smashing on the gas it takes a long time to go then takes off when it decides to. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs and was advised they were going to call to where I take my car to 3 days later I get a call back and was advised to call Nissan and go have a dianogstic, like it was set up. When I asked for the name I was giving that consumer affairs was talking to she didnt have a clue to what I was talking about, when I called the lady I been talking to at consumer affairs I didnt get a answer nor a call back. But im sure they will not find anything wrong with my car due to no one will drive it to see what it do. Im scared to drive my car due to it may stop and someone can hit me or being that when smashing on the gas it take off when it want to and I can hit someone.
