The vehicle has activated a false aeb on several ocassions since I purchased the vehicle. I immediately took it back to Nissan and they stated there were no recalls and the vehicle seemed to have no issues. I've had the vehicle for 5 years and it continues to occur, nearly causing a traffic collision. Twice this year, the vehicle made a complete stop on the hwy and took a minute before I could resume driving.

While driving my Nissan Altima in normal operation, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly stopped and applied the brakes without any input from me. This occurred without warning and created an extremely dangerous situation. There were no other vehicles, obstacles, or apparent reasons for the vehicle to engage any safety systems. This is a critical safety defect that could have resulted in a serious accident. I was fortunate that no vehicles were following behind me, but this incident could easily cause rear-end collisions or other accidents if it occurs again.

The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system in my 2021 Nissan Altima sr frequently malfunctions. The forward radar sensor, located behind the front grille, becomes easily obstructed by normal road dirt or weather conditions. When this happens, the system falsely detects obstacles and engages braking or gives collision warnings even when the road ahead is clear. This places my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle can suddenly slow or stop without cause, increasing the chance of a rear-end collision. To avoid false activations, I must disable the aeb system every time I drive, which defeats the purpose of having this federally mandated safety feature. The problem is ongoing and repeatable. Warning lights and collision alerts appear when the sensor is dirty or misreading conditions. Nissan dealerships have acknowledged this issue through technical service bulletins, but there is no permanent fix and no recall. The malfunction has not been resolved by the manufacturer and continues to pose a safety hazard.

Emergency braking saves lives at speed. However this feature is absolutely outrageously unwarranted when I'm trying to back into a parking space at 0. 05 mph and the car slams on the emergency braking system because I'm 12 inches away from a stationary unoccupied abandoned shopping cart. The vehicle is further insulting by not allowing me to back up further after the emergency braking system disengages, I attempt to back up a few more inches and it activates again as though I was traveling at speed. My only remaining option is to change parking spaces to one I can pull into, or leave the front car bumper sticking out a good 12-14 into the lane of travel risking potential damage to the car. This has been occurring since the car was purchased and has been growing in annoyance over the years each time I try to back up to park. Let's find a way to permanently disable this feature when speeds are under half a mile per hour. I'm already using the backup camera and other visual aids to ensure I don't hit anything, the last thing I need is the sudden grinding jerk to a stop to break my focus and concentration on completing a task.
I have a 2019 Nissan Altima sr 2. 5. I have currently had the car for about 3 or 4 years now. For most of the time I have had the car, the check engine light stays on. I have had it tested, and it always states that it is the mass air flow sensor. When sitting in park idling, it will "malfunction" and state that the engine is reducing power. During this, the automatic emergency brake warning light and the vdc light will come on. It's rare that it happens while I am driving but it has happened. I recently had the vehicle checked again and again it stated that the mass air flow sensor and the grille shutter actuator were throwing codes along with some other minor items. I purchased the mafs and replaced it in hope that this would correct a lot of the idling issues, however after a few days of driving the vehicle, it again has started to malfunction and idle harshly. I do know it typically happens in the morning recently, but I was also having issues with my battery draining for no reason. This car is a certified lemon. I currently don't know what to do, as this sight states I have no unrepaired recalls for this vehicle, and I currently owe too much money to trade it in.
Well, first, my struts are bad on the right wheel. And I've went through about 5 tires now. And I guess my wheel bearing or something is messed up too. I don't I don't know exactly, but it does not sound good. Next would be the brake light is on and it won't shut off. No matter what I do, it will not turn off. The third thing is my cameras are not working, right and the fourth thing is, as it's making some kind of weird noise. I don't know if it's the engine or it could be where the wheel is. I don't know.
Engine failure while driving. While driving on NJ turnpike, engine light appeared on dashboard. Car began to jerk and immediately lost speed from 70 mph to barely 15 mph. The vehicle continued to jerk then rolled to a stop. Vehicle has had regular inspections, repairs and oil changes completed. Engine malfunction reduce power lamp comes on occasionally and goes off after a few minutes. A state trooper stopped & said I may call #95 if unable to get off at next exit. No report was made. Problem with engine failure started on 08/08/2025. Vehicle is parked, I am afraid to drive vehicle because I have to stay in far right lane or on shoulder with hazards when driving. I have an appointment with Nissan edison NJ on 08/10/2025 to check if my vehicle is eligible for upcoming recall. There is a recall for 2019 Nissan possibly coming the end of August 2025.
A car slammed on brakes in front of me and I hit the brakes but my car still hit the other car messing it up pretty badly. No one was hurt but the car has stopped automatically before, it’s like the sensors couldn’t tell I vehicle had stopped or was even in front of me.

The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system with pedestrian detectionb warning light coming on in my car. No, I dont feel my safety was at risk at that time no, it has not been reproduced or confirmed. We did take the veh to Nissan of greenville, TX and was told there was nothing they could do about it since the light was not on at that time and dwas told the sensor might be dirty, or that the sun "hit the sensor, causing it to go off" there was no other lights or wanrnings prior to the malfunction wanrning.
Water leak. . . From trunk and sunroof. . . . Electrical problems airbag light on and off. . . . . Sensor issues I paid out of pocket.

This car is going to kill me! it randomly hits the brakes on the highways! I am literally driving a deadly weapon. I turn the emergency brakes off and had it checked and still brakes. It break everytime I pass a shade spot on the road and even highway going over 60 miles per hour! it hits the breaks while I am in traffic making the driver behind me almost hit my car. It breaks whenever I go under a tree. It breaks when I am in a parking garage when there are no cars around. It breaks randomly in traffic with no cars too close by to create a collision. It breaks in front of a school bus that was driving close behind me. It hit the breaks going 30 miles per hour. If the school bus would have hit me then that would be child endangerment. The bus driver thought I would break checking him but it was hard to explain it was my emergency breaks. It’s been getting so bad that I am writing a complaint until something can be fixed or changed. It’s ruined my breaks in general from always setting off the emergency breaks. It is not even emergency breaking, it’s breaking to kill at given moment. It’s ruining my car and my ability to drive! this is not correct and it’s keeps going off even more. I am scared to even drive it. This has been happening since I got the car but for the past year since I turned off the sensor, it’s gotten so much worse. It can turn deadly on my end or someone else’s. This was not properly designed for safety. It’s doing the exact opposite. This happens literally every week! so there is not way of giving you every single date nor do I have the time to wipe my phone out to take a video during those moments because it’s random.
Driving down the road and my parking brake light came on when it wasn’t in park and I was on a highway. Malfunction light came on, but car runs fine and had it looked at with no problems.
My car constantly turns off mid drive and then turns back on , also all the lights on my dash pop up eveytime I start the car so I’m pretty sure it’s an electric issue sometimes it’s doesn’t start I have to play with the battery little bit and I’ve had it tested even bought a new one so ik it’s not the battery it’s electric, it frequently turns off for like 5 seconds while I’m driving and then turns back on.
The vehicle was unknowingly purchased with an improperly assembled braking system from which is formally known as koeppel Nissan. The braking assembly failed during operation, resulting in loss of proper braking capability and causing a collision. The braking failure created a serious safety risk to the myself (the driver) and others on the roadway. There were no warning lights, dashboard messages, or other indicators prior to the braking failure. The issue with the braking assembly was not identified at the time of purchase and when the vehicle was returned to koeppel Nissan to have cosmetic damages fixed. A request was made to thoroughly check of the braking system. After repairs, koeppel Nissan assured there were no issues with braking system. It was discovered months afterward by thruway Nissan dealership that the rear rotor pads were mismatched and the driver rear pad was installed upside down. The issue was viewed by a thruway Nissan service technician, who identified the improper braking assembly. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan motor corporation consumer affairs for this issue but has been reported. The vehicle and the braking system components are available for inspection upon request.

[xxx] slams on brakes going in reverse for no reason, I wish there was a way to disconnect this to me it's more of a safety issue. Problem is there trying to dumb [xxx] down for all the idiots out there that don't know how to drive. . I don't have that problem. Vehicle breaking on its own while driving I am writing to file a formal safety complaint and to demand immediate corporate intervention regarding an extremely dangerous mechanical/adas defect. My Nissan Altima has serious, ongoing safety issues where the vehicle will unexpectedly and aggressively apply the brakes on its own while I am driving, including on highways and regular roads. This defect happens without my input, without warning, and creates a major risk of being rear-ended, losing control of the vehicle, or causing a serious accident. This issue is not minor. It is a life-threatening malfunction that makes the vehicle unsafe to operate. I have taken the vehicle to authorized Nissan dealerships for diagnosis and repair on multiple occasions & originally they told me it should be under warranty & when they spoke to the dealership they said it did not qualify under the warranty nor the extra insurance purchased & I'd have to come out of pocket for repairs. A vehicle that breaks on its own, especially at highway speeds – is not safe, not reliable, and not roadworthy. This situation has gone on for years and the vehicle is now a clear danger to me and the public and my three minor children who ride in the car with me. I am requesting immediate action and a good-faith resolution.
Every time I drive under an over pass my vehicle will come to a stop. Placing me in danger with traffic.

I noticed a month ago I was driving and both the rear and front emergency braking lights came on in my dashboard but the car never actually began to brake. Fast forward to today when I was backing in to park my car and the emergency brake engaged and I could not back in. Nothing was around me, I wipe off the sensor and it still would not let me back in. I had to turn off the emergency brake system just to back up my car.
Purchased the car in June of 2024 with around 33,000 miles. I thought the doors were locked and someone was able to just open my back door when my car was unattended in a store parking lot; the car was supposed to be locked. Lights and horn started going off. Being a female with a child this is a very scary issue. The idea that anyone can get in when you think the doors are locked or vice versa, in the event of an emergency no one can get in because the doors dont unlock. It started with the passenger side rear door lock not working with fob or button. The lock needs to be done manually. The dealership looked at it and said they could not replicate the problem and everything was working. Now both rear door locks dont work with the buttons or the key fob. The rear doors have to be locked and unlocked manually all the time. Car is currently at the dealership and they confirmed the issue and are telling me that the bcm (I believe is what they said) needs to be replaced and reprogrammed. The car only has approx. 42,500 miles. The other issue with the car is the automatic emergency braking system light comes on and flashes on the dash. It is very random and sometimes it doesnt do it at all. There can be nothing in front of me on the road when it starts flashing. It also does it in all weather conditions, and even when its dry. There have been multiple issues with this car since the day I purchased it.
The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while his son was driving 35 mph, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The contact stated that his son depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle continued to drive with no additional failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was diagnosed as a sensor with the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system and a fractured bracket. The aeb sensor was replaced; however, the contact was waiting for the bracket to be replaced because the bracket was on backorder. The contact stated that the aeb system was deactivated as per the service manager's advice since the dealer was waiting for the bracket to be received. The contact provided part number: 28438-5fa6a (sensory assemble dist) and part number: 62310-9hf8e (grille radiator). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.
I saw the recall about the backup camera malfunction however my car isn’t listed for the recall but for the last few months my backup camera has been saying malfunction and doesn’t beep. I’m trying to see if I could receive the recall to get this fixed.
The transmissions go out fast in the ctv Nissan Altima 2012.
Aeb system malfunction for front end. Will not allow cruise control to be used because of it.
My issue began 1 month after buying the vehicle. Regardless if I'm on the highway or back road no transition from one lane to another needs to be initiated , my whole dash will light up red and the car will come to a complete stop , at this time I just hold on and brace myself . Im a rn w/2 kids I went back to the dealer they said they checked it out but on my own I found out the car was in 2 accidents those things were not revealed to me during the buying process. I didn't know how to report this im pretty ignorant to this type of thing however I did complain to gm by way of phone few times I called early on. No one at the dealership will help. Im literally in fear of me and my children's life. I test my luck because I don't know what else to do and can't afford another vehicle. Please help this complete dead stop sometimes turns the back end of my vehicle if im going over 70 when it stops, for this reason I drive like 40mph. I hope knowing this issue you can help there is no reason I know of for this incident which is now happening approximately once a week. Again this happen almost immediately after buying ,I went to the mngr no one will help but this is very scary for me and two children will it take a nurse dying in an accident before someone does something , I dont now what else to do again out of nowhere no matter the speed the dash turns red all lights come on and vehicle comes to abrupt stop. Thank you and its at this point once a week,by the way I only guessed the parts involved d/t effects of incident I do notknow which or what from the car would have these issues from because I absolutely bought it like this.
Emergency brake engaged when there were no objects near the vehicle. Vehicle stopped.
Adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning has failed. The cruise control will not engage. The electronic braking system has malfunctioned and this has somehow disabled the cruise control on the vehicle. The car will still brake. I understand that this has been known issue with Nissan but they are not willing to repair it.
I went to stop at a stop sign and the breaks didn’t not work causing a collision, prior to I heard a loud clinking noise and my car smelled like burning rubber. Blind spot didn’t not light up accurately or notify me correctly.
Multiple times the car will brake while triggering the forward collision warning, sending the car into a limp mode of 40mph. This occurs at a stop sign/light, or while passing a car. I had the part replaced and the problem continues.

The forward emergency braking system on my vehicle disables itself. I receive a message stating "front laser obstructed". There is no obstruction on vehicle. I relly on the emergency braking system to give me a heads up on possible forwars collision. Problem started around 50000 miles. It went away for a few months then came back.
1. The automatic emergency braking activated while approaching a railway crossing. And yes, it is available for inspection. 2. If anyone had been behind me, it very likely would have resulted in a collision. 3. Not yet confirmed by the dealer, but has happened to me three times. 4. No. 5. No warning before the malfunction.
On two separate occasions my vehicle stopped on its own. Once while doing roughly 35mph the brakes applied on their own and the car stopped immediately. The second time I was at a. Traffic light that had just turned green as I began to accelerate the brakes locked up and the car stopped immediately. What are my options regarding this issue. That I am having?.
I just recently had my brakes done & the abs light came on, along with the brake light, then the rear & front automatic emergency braking sensor lights came on as well. My independent repair shop did a diagnostic & said it was a faulty abs pump went out. They also told me to take to the dealership to get it looked at too.
