This is a concern issue. . . The adjustable shoulder belt anchor protrudes from side post 1" at my height seat adjustment it places my head alongside this anchor post. On a side impact (with no side bags available on this model year) couldn't this cause severe (unnecessarily) head injury ?.

Consumer was traveling about 30mph on highway on a bridge and it was raining. He applied brakes three times, and braking system locked up because there was another vehicle in front of him. Vehicle slid and hit vehicle in front. Upon impact, airbags didn't come out, but airbag light did come on. Dealership was aware of problem. Consumer states the three point restraint system also failed, 2 people were injured in accident.
The driver seatbelt anchor (the part that the belt buckles into) broke on the date given above. The belt does not lock into the anchor, therefore making the belt useless. I have to buckle into the passenger anchor, which not only renders my passenger seat obsolete, but it is very uncomfortable (the belt crosses my neck) and not to mention unsafe. I contacted peachtree Nissan in chamblee, GA immediately. Don in service told me he would place an order immediately for the belt. He called me a week later and informed me that the belt was on backorder with the manufacturer and that no one had it in stock. I kept in touch with don weekly. Finally, on the 23rd of February, I spoke with the manager of the parts dept. After researching the matter, he informed me that the buckle should arrive at the end of February/early March and that it was bumped up to super urgent status (they would fly it in v/s regular mail. ) today is the 9th of March and my belt still has not arrived. I feel that a safety item such as seatbelts should always be in stock. I feel very unsafe having to buckle into the passenger side anchor, but that is my only choice since Nissan would not give me a loaner car until mine was fixed. Please contact me to let me know if anything can be done about this situation.
