When pushing the gas on the highway or the streets it feels like the power of the car is holding back. Feels like the gears are messing up. And there's problem with catalyst converter. It's always showing check engine light even after I have tried other solutions on fixing that and the gas odometer is not reading the gas levels right either. Plus the passenger seat buckle is stuck and doesn't latch to the seat belt for a hold from a car accident. Like you have to really push hard for the seat belt to hold on.

After purchasing vehicle, I realized the driver's side seatbelt doesn't lock securely in place once fully extracted. I called the dealer that I purchased the vehicle from & they stated that none of the Nissans on their lot drivers seatbelts locks in place once fully extracted. I find it strange that every other seatbelt inside my Altima locks in securely except for the driver's side. I think that's a major safety (yet basic) hazard on a vehicle with multiple complexed safety features. Nothing happened per say yet, I want to get this addressed before it's to late & something does occur. I just pulse like this preventative observation handled at your earliest convenience. Purchase date 01/07/2020.

Low beam lights very dim. Cannot see well at night at all, it's like I have no lights. Changing them did not help. I'm only 40 and have no vision problems. The seatbelt light comes on and off while driving and my seatbelt is on. Nissian cannot pull a code on why.

A truck turned quickly in front of my wife which made her hit him in the side of his truck while she was traveling at approx. 55mph. The truck was traveling southbound on highway and she was traveling northbound on a foggy day. She hit her brakes slid about 30 ft before striking the side of his f150 tearing his rear axles out and damaging her 2018 Altima in the front end badly. The problem is none of the impact devices deployed: air bags nor seat belts or anything deployed. She hit the steering wheel with her chest and knees went into dash and had to be taken to the emergency room and has rib, back, and neck pain for several days. I think we may have a defective car and have contacted Nissans consumer affairs division for an investigation of the vehicle. The picture is from the accident scene, you can see both vehicles.

Rear driver's door cannot open from the inside. It make fly open while car is in motion. While driving on expressway, I had to slam on my brakes because a car jump in my lane without warning; both passenger and driver seat belts did not snatch back.
Passenger light airbag is never detected. (been on going for a couple of years) engine light stays on (for about 3 months) seatbelt airbag (3 months) will not go out. There is never a recall and a problem is never found by mechanic. Can get the engine light off for a little while, but comes back on usually within a week.

Car seats dont work properly and wont adjust. Battery has to be replaced frequently. Car lights blinks on and off own its own. Car wint detect key. Car wont crank st times. Car makes sound as if its shutdowning. Sometimes the vehicle has.
Gear shift is unable to move. It will not move when breaks are pressed. Also, engine dies when car is put in reverse or drive. The engine will also die while driving, and when I go to turn it back on, it only dies when I try to switch the gears.
Seat belt light stays on when there someone sitting in the seat and have the seat belt on. . . . And the gearshift locks for no reason. For the seatbelt this will be my second time tacking it in for the same reason.
Front passenger seat belt has no automatic tension with the application of brakes. I have to manually tighten the seatbelt or it doesn't.

My "vehicle was previously recalled to reprogram front passenger occupant classification system (OCS) electronic control unit (ecu). " I took my car in for the recall to have it taken care of, but now I'm still having issues with the OCS. Currently, the driver side airbag light is on, indicating that it is not functioning properly. In addition, while the car was in motion and I was sitting in the passenger seat, the passenger side airbag light was lit up. This indicated that the airbag was off, despite the fact that I was sitting in it. After taking the car into the dealership, I was informed that I needed a new OCS control unit as well as two OCS sensors. I informed them of the previous recall on the OCS; however, they said this was a separate issue, so I was going to have to pay around $700. Nissan originally said in a letter that, "if at any time within the next 15 years, the OCS system in your vehicle does not perform as described above, we urge you to please schedule an appointment at your nearest Nissan dealer. The dealer can check the OCS system in your vehicle and, if needed, perform a one-time retrofit to the OCS system free of charge. " since the OCS is still having issues after the original recall, I thought it was imperative to report this huge safety issue. I was informed that the airbags might not deploy if I were in a car accident, which could cause unnecessary injuries or even death. Clearly there are still unresolved issues with the OCS that need attention.
Both front driver and passenger side seat belts are difficult to pull slack out from the shoulder door frame area when you are trying to put on or take off the seat belt. It feels as though they may get stuck in places. The shoulder straps do not pull or retract smoothly/easily.
I have a problem with the driver sit bell. And my air bag going off no accident I went to the dealer for dat the reset that for $ 125. 00 the tell me next time I have to pay $ 2745. 00 to fix the front passenger air bag, if the air bag going off again I wont to no why because my car never been in accident.
Takata recall - I was traveling on the left inside lane of a 4 lane road driving approximately 65mph when a semi-truck came over into my lane thus pushing me off the road onto the median. I hit a cement culvert & car still proceeded to travel down median without at least 1 back tire finally hitting a tree which stopped car from going into the oncoming traffic. No airbags deployed & the driver seat belt did not catch me with my face going into the steering wheel. When firemen arrived on scene & helped me out they would not allow me back in the vehicle to retrieve the registration card stating that they smelled air bag odors; firemen & highway patrolman along with wrecker service man stated that the air bags should have inflated. I did not receive any life threatening injuries -just a sore neck & back; broken nose & 2 black eyes. Also hurt ankle & hip during wreck. Have had all over body pain all this week. If my daughter had been a passenger she would have gone thru the windshield. Vehicle was declared a total loss by geico insurance. Reported air bag failure to Nissan; have made several calls to them leaving name & phone number to call me; today I received a fedx package of information from Nissan stating they have been unable to contact me & for me to call the enclosed number. I did so & left another message & phone number. Again no one has returned any of my calls but the info in the package shows that they know what car I was driving by the VIN number.

Takata recall, got in a car accident and the air bags didn't deploy. My car was a total loss. Were there any airbags in the car??????.
Takata recall, my passenger front and back seats are the only seat belts that will not retrack whether the car is on/off. I tried driving to see if they then retrack and still nothing happens.
2013 Nissan Altima s - safety system defect / malfunction problem:2 aspects (1)the OCS airbag and seatbelt system warning light "incorrectly indicates" a passenger is not in the seat when in fact the seat is occupied! this condition "turns off the air bag protection for an adult passenger!" (2)the seatbelt light incorrectly indicates that a passenger is unbelted. Erroneous test results: Nissan tests this safety system on equipment programmed by Nissan via a humanly devised algorithm. In other words, since the test equipment is programmed incorrectly, the results will be wrong. Proof: Nissan has recalled to reprogram my vehicle 4 times (I think) a new test algorithm. Additionally, Nissan refuses to acknowledge that there could be a faulty components of this safety system. If the test fails to show a system fault. Nissan ignores the problem. Nissan refuses to replace components of this faulty system. 2013 2017ocs system malfunction continues after multiple reprogrammings by Nissan. Nissan has never fixed this faulty system. Nissan needs to replace this safety system immediately!.
Multiple mechanical issues including the heat. The hood was on fire and I was stuck due to mechanical issues. Luckily I was able to get out after it got too bad.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. While the contact's vehicle was stopped in traffic on the freeway, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The seat belt failed to retract properly. As a result, the contact sustained whiplash to the neck and injuries to the lower back and shoulder, which required medical attention. The front passenger sustained lower back injuries and the rear passenger sustained lower back injuries, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not towed, but was taken to an independent mechanic for the body damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000.
Takata recalls. I am experiencing problems with my seals around my windows. When it rains my car gets water in the doors. Stationary.
The contact owned a 2003 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that another vehicle sped through an intersection and crashed into the front passenger side of the her vehicle. None of the air bags deployed. The driver sustained whiplash, head injuries, and the seat belt failed to provide proper restraint. The front passenger also sustained whiplash and extensive injuries. Medical attention was received and the front passenger was transported away by an ambulance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a yard. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was not available.
Upon impact with another car (my front hitting other car's side at approximately 40 to 45 mph), both front air bags deployed and the seat belts for driver and passenger unlatched. Without the protection of the seat belts, our lower torso and legs shifted forward, causing injuries to our hips, knees and ankle. Our car went into ongoing traffic and then landed in someone's yard. If we would have struck a second car and the air bags started to deflate, we would have been without any protection for the second collision. We thank god for our protection! we did contact Nissan manufacturing with an investigator. He could not view the car in salvage as it moved already to final processing from being totaled.
Headlight don't work as they should there to dark I need to put my high beams to see a lil better.

On or around 6/20/16 I received a NHTSA ans Nissan north America, inc recall notice regarding the occupant classification system (OCS) in my vehicle. I scheduled an appointment for 6/28/16 with Nissan of union city, where I purchased my vehicle. My vehicle was serviced on the aforementioned date, and I was informed by Nissan of union city that the recall malfunction was corrected. However, that is not the truth. The OCS has apparently been turned off completely, thereby causing a safety risk to myself and my passengers. With this function turned off, the vehicle restraint system may not work. I need the system to be tested because I have not been assured of the safety of the system by Nissan of union city after the issue was allegedly corrected by them. Please investigate my complaint.
Takata recall. My back seat passenger side seat belt does not retract. My car was stationary when the seat belt broke.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat belt wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, there was a fracture between the firewall and the interior of the vehicle, which allowed water to enter the vehicle when it rained. The carpet was replaced, but an abnormal odor was still present in the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 15,000.
The car don't start. My seatbelt shredding and I worry that my air bag won't work if my children and I got into an accident.
