1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2024

We just keep having endless safety issues. We would be on freeway and all of a sudden it would stop while driving on freeway!and car going really fast, and almost hitting us my whole family terrified. . Once in a heavey under pass where supper busy of big rigs almost hitting us one of the most terrifying things you can feel of almost being hit,and this vehicle is super heavey, and cannot push by my self with back injury and my wife with really bad heart condion , at times it would only go 25 to 35 miles per hour. . My widows keep falling my lightingi I have done everything possible and replaced almost everything, then another problem we depend on what we have and need for our doctors appointment and sometimes don’t start and when it is turn off it dose this noise. . Etc can you help me, I don’t have money to keep spending on this car moo put something is very wrong.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2020

The vehicle will start having erratic rpms, hesitation to accelerate, engine rpms will not go above 2000-2500 or below 1000-300 without severe hesitation, then sometimes it will just completely shut down everything no matter if stopped at a light or driving highway speeds. Total loss of vehicle control happens. . . No brakes, power steering, no acceleration. Every light turns on on dash and if your driving at the time you better hope that you can quickly throw it in neutral, crank the engine at least 2-4 times before it'll start up, then kick it back in drive to gain control of the vehicle again so you can pull over somewhere safe before you get into a serious wreck. Taking it to Nissan was pointless since after you get the Armada restarted, it doesn't retain any codes that the dealership can use to diagnose the problem nor can the mechanic replicate the issue on test drives. At which point I look like I'm the crazy one, then they send me off on my way with no answers. The only other problem that the Armada had long before this problem, during it, and currently is a cracked exhaust manifold which, too, is apparently a very common issue that plagues other Armadas which Nissan refused to acknowledge as a very common problem and issue a recall. This issue is hard to support with pics or documents since it almost always occurs while the vehicle is in motion so you're too occupied trying not to kill yourself or others on the road and when you do go to Nissan there no codes to pull since I guess the vehicle erases it after the complete loss of power. Feels like I'm chasing my tail. . .

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2018

My Nissan Armada only has 67k miles on it like brand new it all of a sudden just lost all power I drove it the night before no issues then the next morning there were 3 lights on which were the vdc, slip, and the check engine light. Also, the trunk on the vehicle doesnt unlock when you hit the button neither does the glass lift door I have to climb in thru the vehicle get inside the trunk and take cover off of the emergency release and hold down lever while someone from the outside opens the door for me while im inside holding the lever down. The loss of power is the main issue here what if I was on the interstate or something and that happened.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2018

Thn again after driving couple of mins or miles brakes n accelerator-stops working. . N took to Nissan dealer they couldn't find anything wrong but it happened with lots of people who has Nissan pathfinder Armada le so they should take this issue seriously cz anything can happen to anyone. . Thanks god we got saved we was in a highway.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2017

Doesn't matter the speed of the vehicle, brakes tend to press to the floor, grinding noise and the only way to stop this is to pull over the vehicle, turn off the ignition and restart it. It randomly happens, but I am very concerned that if and when I tow or am on the highway, I don't won't my brakes to not work. Could kill me. . . I have had an issue with brakes and lights coming on that says vdo ,antilock etc: when driving the SUV at lower speeds and you try to apply the brakes the whole front end starts shaking and grinding and it is impossible to stop. I have replaced brakes, rotors , wheel hub bearings and still have this problem. It is scary when you can't stop a 7,000lb vehicle! I am in fear of an accident . I have read of others having the same problem. Sometimes when running hyw speeds a lot of lights come on and dingers and this has been happening since I bought the Armada. I want to know what Nissan is gonna do about this problem cause it seems I am not the only one having these issues. By the way this is going on since I purchased the vehicle back on 10/2006.

6 Electrical System problem

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2016

Bought a 2004 Nissan Armada 08/08/2016 the second day I had to go to the dealers and pay close to 4xx to have a computer hooked up to it because my brake light came on and didnt have any brakes, it then happened the second week of owning the vehicle, called Nissan north America at first I was told I would be reimbursed and my problem fixed then was told its out of warranty. Regardless it was not my fault Nissan does not no how to make vehicle or fix there fauly problems. Then today I went out to start my truck and it will turn over all day long but will not start, I have a 2 year old special needs child and was heading to get his medication which can be very serious if hes without, contacted nna yet again with no luck. On top of the list of other problems iv had with this vehicle.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2015

My Armada shuts off while driving down the road. When it does the steering goes and the brakes won't work. I bought got rear ended trying to get off the road when it happened the first time. This is a very dangerous problem. I just got this about 6 months ago. I looked up and seen recalls on this problem but I put my VIN number in and it says there is none for my car. If it has been fixed prior to my ownership then its went out again. And again thats not good. This could get someone killed! esp if I was driving on interstate. I couldn't get out of way of traffic.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2015

Traveling up a slight hill at about 20 mph the vehicle started losing power. The engine died resulting in a loss of power steering. I put the vehicle in park and shut off the ignition. I had no power and no power steering. After about a minute I tried and successfully started the vehicle. It attempted to die again, but I revved the engine and kept it running. It was frightening to think what would have happened if we were on a highway at 70 mph and lost power. In my opinion this is a dangerous situation. Thankfully the incident was on a county road with no traffic as we had two of our grandchildren in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2013

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while traveling at any speed, the abs sensor illuminated and there was a loud springing sound intermittently coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician cleared the computer for the vdc code, replaced the ball bearings and the differential housing. The failure recurred. The contact had to continuously turn off the vehicle and restart it in order to reset the abs sensor and the vdc sensor to no avail. The vehicle was to be inspected, diagnosed and repaired. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id numbers: 07e046000 (equipment). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000. Pam updated 8/11/cn.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2013

On above date I was driving my vehicle down on the hwy slowing down to exit off. I turned on my air conditioning unit and it started to make a hissing noise from underneath the dashboard. I couldn't figure what could have gone since I recently had my vehicle inspected at conocelli Nissan on ridge pk. I took my vehicle back in and I was told me air conditioner lines were rusted and leaking. I asked how can that happen? no one could give me an answer. No one understood how my lines rusted on a vehicle that is not that old. I was told Nissan is supposed to use rust free lines for the Armada's. Last year I had to pay for my muffler to be replaced for the same reason. I am being charged a great deal of funds for repairs that can not be explained as to how these things occur, my vehicle is not that old. If you have any answers please let me know. I too like other Armada owners has had numerous breaking problem which almost lead to a collision, that would have put my family at risk. The dealership couldn't figure out what was going on. They believe it was the abs system but they rather try to reset the electrical system first. .

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2012

Applied brakes , brake light went on abs stopped working, brakes groan. They work at 10 %. Please see youtube enter Armada brake system problem. There are 100's of complaints for the exact same failure. There is a problem in the brake booster. Once you shut off the vehicle and restart it the abs resets until the next occurrence. This has occurred many times over the years, this system failure will cause death if not addressed.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2011

I own a 2004 Nissan Armada. About 2 weeks ago while driving the red airbag warning light turned on and would not turn off. I just had it serviced today and was told that the front crash zone airbag sensor being that it is located outside of the front radiator grill ends up rusting out from the elements of our weather. Therefore it needed to be replaced. The car is out of warranty so therefore it was billable. After doing some research I came across a Nissan recall from January 2009. The NHTSA campaign id # is 08v690000. This recall was for the exact same problem with the crash zone sensor rusting out from snow/salt in the northern us states but was only limited to 2005-2009 pathfinders, frontiers and xterra vehicles. I feel that my vehicle should be included in this recall due to the fact that it is the exact same problem listed in the recall and I live in NY state which obviously has winters with snow and salt. The recall issued a redesigned sensor to correct the problem at no cost to the vehicle owner.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2010

2004 Nissan Armada se 4wd vehicle just stalls while driving no warning light so indication something is wrong with car, stall in a very busy intersection while driving , loss of steering brakes etc. Dash lights blink and light up. Car restarts if you crank it a few times , but this has happened on several more occasions , took to a dealership and no light indicators to diagnose the problem , this is very unsafe for my family and I to be in this Armada.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2010

While driving about 45 mph in the night time, suddenly dash board lights flashes very rapidly and stalls the engine. Luckily, no other car was next to us. We safely stopped the our 2004 Nissan Armada SUV on the side of road. After about 10~15 minutes, we tried to re-start the car, but no luck. After giving gas pedal several times, we could re-start the car. We drove home (about 5 miles in distance) safely. Next day, while my wife was driving to her parents' house, once again, with rapid flashing on the dash board, the engine dies while she was driving. We took to the Nissan dealership next morning, they said it would been no gas in the gas tank. We had more than 1/4 tankful of gas. While the service man was driving into the service bay, the car stalls in same manner. Then, they said it was the electrical part problem in the driver's side. Because of the safety issue, we have let Nissan dealer replaced the electrical part. Lets' see whether it fixed the problem.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2008

Either with the vehicle running or if the engine is turned off. From time to time there is a very loud clicking noise that comes from the right side of the dashboard. I was told it was a heater actuator, which controls the vent door. Its a $2. 00 part that is buried inside of the dash. Total cost for labor $1600, the entire dash board has to come out to get to the heater unit. This is a problem with Armadas and titans 2004-2008. It should be a recall.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2005

Brake jutter, grinding, shaking when braking. Abs vdl slip brake lights up on dash--unable to turn off. Stopping vehicle and restarting corrects the problem sometimes; other times the light stays on. Brake pads originally replaced early after purchase in 2005 when the vehicle was still under warranty. The vehicle is rarely driven--there is approximately 36k miles on the vehicle--but the problem has been persistnet over the years when driven. Lately, I have been driving the vehicle more often and the problem is continuing and it is more apparent that there is a problem with the vehicle brakes. I am also experiencing problems with the lift gate as it recently stopped functioning when pressing the key fob or either of the switches inside the vehicle. I began opening and closing the lift gate manually and now it will not close securely, I. E. , it is not getting that final seal when closed. In addition, the front passenger window no longer goes up or down and does not work when using the driver's or passenger switch. Finally, the driver's seat does not reset to the position programmed when the engin starts and turns off. I decided to research the internet today and was quite surprised to see that there are so many others who are experiencing the same problem with their 2004 amada. Called a local Nissan dealer today and they were well aware of the problem. Just as so many have written all over the internet, the dealer suggest that you bring the vehicle in when the brake light issue is displayed so that they can perform diagnostic test.
