It is very frustrating to have a safety problem, learn that the manufacturer is aware of it and has a recall, but to be told that it doesn't apply to your vehicle. Clearly it does, because I have the exact problem described, "issue can cause the fuel gauge to show that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when fuel tank is empty. ".
