The fuel gage gets to one quarter and it starts to be inaccurate and will run out of gas showing one quarter tank. The fuel gage will not work right until you have over three quarters in. I got so low on fuel the light was on three days ago. I put a few gallons in when I got to town it shower there was 1/8 of a tank by the time I got home it was showing a little over 1/4 were it was when it ran out of gas 1 1/2 years ago. The next morning I had to go to town and it showed I had almost half a tank by the time I got there. I've put about 7 gallons in it and the fuel gage is at the same place. When I filled the tank up the fuel gage started working probably. I've looked and there is a recall on the fuel sending unit on some Nissan Armada already but this one isn't on the list.
My 2005 Nissan Armada ran out of gas and I was in the highway in the center lane the fuel gauge showed quarter tank I took a picture to have because I was confused it showing half tank and I was out of gas.
The fuel shows that I have a quarter of a tank or a bit more left and the number mileage on the screen shows the same. My vehicle randomly stops without warning. This has happened 3 times. I had the vehicle repaired last year for the same reason and here I am again. I see there is a recall and my car was not included. I called Nissan and the representative told me told contact NHTSA to be more effective. . . . . He acknowledged the problem with the trucks. I feel as though it is a definite safety hazard. We were lucky this time. My air bag light will not shut off either and he mentioned this was another recall. . Why did this VIN miss the recalls. It clearly has those issues. They want me to go to a dealer and I cannot afford to do that. The dealers are more expensive. Hopefully there is assistance. There is a rattle with the a/c fan. I don't know what is going on with that however I have an odor from it as well. Again I am bringing it back to the mechanic however the tow company gave me the recall info and I don't understand how this truck was missed. Can you help with the recall for us. Recall #'s 10v51700,10v074000,10v349000. Our thanks.
I was driving on the highway on my way to work when my car suddenly started to stall (in the middle of the highway). I ran out of gas with what my gage said was a little over a quarter of a tank left. There was no gas light on. Once someone was able to bring me gas, my car started back up. I looked up recalls on this model, and even though my VIN is "not effected", I believe it is part of this recall. (NHTSA campaign number 10v074000).
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that tue fuel gauge failed to function for a proper reading and if the fuel level was below a quarter tank, the vehicle may shut off. The contact was not able to determine when the failure may happen due problem with the vehicle. The dealer rock hill Nissan, 550 galleria blvd, rock hill, SC 29730, (803) 818-2713 was notified of the failure, indicated that the vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other) and that the vehicle would need to be scheduled for an appointment to inspect and diagnose the failure. The contact had not yet authorized the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, also indicated that the vehicle was excluded from the recall campaign and provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired yet. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000. Dyd.
My gas gauge has been stuck on 1/4 of a tank since Thursday I crunk up my car this morning,it was finei went back in my car was cut off so my neighbor went and got a gallon of gas poured it in my gas tank in my car crunk back up. Then I went and put $15 in my tank am I gas hand never movedso I checked online and I seen many things that was talking about recalls so I'll call the one 800 number and they told me that my car did not have a recall for the fuel sending unit and I know that's what's wrong with my car and I do not have the money to fix that nor do I have the money to get my car diagnosed at a Nissan dealership what do I need to do because I know my VIN number should have been on the recall list and I refuse to pay for something that should be able to be fixed I see where a lot of people had this problem as well.
The fuel gauge does not indicate actual fuel level. The fuel gauge stops around 1/4 tank . . . And the tank could be empty.
My Armada ran out of gas after having picked up my daughter from school on a city street. I barely made it across the intersection and was able to coast to the side of the road with the steering wheel stiffening up. I've ran out of gas three times since then and each time the gas tank shows there is at least a quarter tank left. The dealer does not recognize this as an issue since my VIN is not one of "those" affected. What can I do? the first incident happened in February when the vehicle had less than 96000 miles on it.
Fuel gauge shows 1/4 of a tank when it is empty. Recalls have been issued for this model but my VIN doesn't show as one of the recalls. This issue has caused my family to stall twice while driving on city street and highway.
Nissan states there are no recalls open for this VIN although nets states this make model and year has a recall out for the the fuel gauge. My gas tank incorrectly reads the gas which caused me to stall on the highway! I can drive around all day and will still show its full. Engine is also very loud during acceleration and overheats the car. Passenger airbag light will also not turn off, not sure if this is a recall, but car indicates no passenger is sitting when there is and shows the airbag will not deploy of a crash happens.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle fuel gauge indicated quarter of tank then the vehicle stalled due to no fuel. The vehicle was refueled and it started normally. The vehicle was driven to a fuel station and then home. The vehicle was not diagnosed by the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. After the contact filled the vehicle with fuel, the fuel gauge falsely displayed a quarter of a tank. In addition, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed, but the dealer stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was unaware if the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 10v074000 (fuel system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 164,240.
The instrument panel fuel gauge is inaccurately displaying that the vehicle still has some fuel, between half and one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty. This has cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall on the highway, causing a dangerous safety situation. The dealer diagnosed the issue and needs to replace the fuel sender unit inside the fuel tank together with the o-ring.
On March 18, 2016, my husband was driving our 2005 Nissan Armada at approx 60mph on the highway. All of a sudden without warning vehicle lost power, luckily my husband was able to steer and coast vehicle to the side. This could have been tragedy. Gas tank needle indicated that vehicle had a quarter tank of gas in it. No low gas light indicator was on or ever came on!! our teenage son had been driving it for over a week. What if he was driving this when this occurred, he could have been killed or killed someone else!!!! vehicle was at 87,632 miles when this occurred. I came to this website and observed where other drivers had the same incident happen. Also observed where Nissan is aware of this flaw in the Armada. I advised my husband about this after he had already called a tow truck. Once he put gas in it, it started right back up. This could have been really bad, but it was only the grace of god that saved my husband surely not Nissan!! usually keep a 1/2 of tank of gas or more, but teenage son had been driving it for the last week. What if my teenager was driving it when it shut down on the highway?? this probably would not have been the same outcome. No low gas light indicator came on to warn my husband that gas was low. My husband, son or someone else could have been killed!! at the time of incident mileage was at 87,632.
I have had numerous issues starting in 13' with the ecm being replaced after 05' Armada stalled on highway traveling 70 miles/hour in heavy traffic. Recently in early 15' I ran out of gas when fuel gauge displayed a quarter tank of gas at a red light. Also in early 15' my a/c will only work when on high. Both of these issues are known & are listed as recalls that I will be making a service appointment with my local Nissan dealer to research, correct & fix. There are numerous reports of similar & exact known issues online. Most recently in November 15' I was picking my children up from school in the rain. I was traveling home when I had to apply my breaks, but they did not perform as they should. The breaks made a spring sound, the brake peddle had little to no resistance when I applied my foot to stop & the break light came on. I had to veer off the road & ran into a fence post very lightly with minimal damage to my front chrome bumper. I turned car off & immediately checked on my two children in the back seat. We were all ok, thank god. I started Armada to find that the break light was no longer on. I hesitated to drive due to what had just happened. I was only 3 miles from home so I slowly attempted to continue home. The Armada drove perfect & the breaks functioned as they should with no issues. I googled incident to find numerous complaints & reports with similar to identical complaints/know issue reported & filed. I was blessed that my family was ok & I was able to avoid a serious potentially life threatening accident with loss of breaks one time for no reason. This was the 1st time this has happened and has not happened since. I feel this should be an immediate recall due to the severity of outcome it could cause with temporary break failure. No need for lifes to be lost or lawsuits to make it right and correct/fix issue at no cost.
SUV ran out of gas at highway speed in center lane during heavy traffic on wife and kids, gauge read 1/4 of tank. Stepped on brake didn't work had a load noise, vdc light, brake light on dash. Understand now that abs system failed and fuel sending unit failed. Nissan has told me that they have a recall on the fuel sending unit on the same year make and model but not mine? they have tried really hard to kill my family with this faulty expensive equipment.
As I was on my way home driving down the highway my truck cut off, this was the third time this has happened in over a year, each time I noticed my fuel gauge was reading 1/4 of a tank, so I check for recalls on the 2005 Nissan Armada and found that there was a recall for the fuel gauge system but when I called the Nissan corp. They told me that the recall was VIN specific and there was no recall on my vehicle. I don't understand how that could be, if there is a recall on the 2005 Armada for the fuel gauge system and my vehicles fuel system is having the same problem why isn't the recall on all Nissan Armadas of the same year.
While driving on the freeway, my Armada all of a sudden lost power and the check engine light and others came on! I was terrified as I floated thru traffic to avoid an accident! I was in the middle lane and could only swerve across fast lane to get near the freeway divider and out of traffic! let's just say I got over right in the nick of time! the truck died out completely! fuel gauge showed I had about 1/4 tank of gas so I thought it was something wrong with my engine. I had just bought the car 4 days prior (no warranty) so I was really unsure of what was going on! state patrol helped get me over to towing zone and I had the truck towed home. I called the dealer and he stated that the gas gauge might be off a bit and to go ahead and add gas. I did as instructed and my truck started right back up! I researched the issue online and found there were thousands of vehicles with same issue which caused Nissan to issue a recall for the fuel system- recall id# 68293, campaign# 10vo74000. I contacted Nissan consumer svcs and was told that my VIN is not included in this specific recall but to take it in to dealer to verify/ confirm issue. I did so the following week and the mechanic at olympia Nissan gladly confirmed issue with fuel sending unit and was quoted $465. Oo plus tax to replace, which Nissan would not cover. Surprisingly, I received a call earlier today from melody with Nissan consumer svcs to inform me that she was escalating my issue regarding fuel system. I could have caused an accident on the freeway with the truck losing power like that, especially when gas gauge clearly shows truck still has gas! as of that day, I now make sure truck has a full tank of gas at all times! :/ Nissan should step up and take responsibility for these defects before it causes fatal accidents.
I have a 2005 Nissan Armada the fuel gauge is not accurate and caused my Armada to run out of fuel in the middle of a highway at speedes of 65mph. The fuel gauge was showing I had 1/4 of a tank left as the car shutdown right in the middle of the busy highway no warning lights at 3am , very close call on a accident almost cost me my life and the cop who was helping me. We could not push my SUV off to the side. So I took the SUV to campbellnelson Nissan of edmonds, I was told there's no recall on my SUV VIN specific. I was told there's a recall 2005-2009 but on not on my VIN #. They called me and said the fule sending unit was bad and was not reading it shows 1/4 of a tank but it was out of gas. So way is my 2005 Nissan Armada not on the recall list what's it going to take someone to get killed! I want Nissan to pay for my SUV to get fixed ASAP this is so wrong my SUV is still at there shop.
The instrument panel gas gauge said that I had a quarter of a tank of gas when in reality I was on empty. I had gone to pick up my daughters friend when it ran out of gas. This is the 4th time is has happened. Once was on a highway in another city near my home. I can't trust it. Whenever I get to half of a tank, I put more fuel in just in case because the truck will stop without any warning when this happens.
We were left stranded on 2 occasions (3/11/14 and 4/22/14) because the fuel display read at least 1/4 tank of gas when, in fact, we found the tank was empty. Once in the middle of a windy road on a bad curve, the other in a parking lot. This is the pertinent recall that is associated with our vehicle from the website: report receipt date: Mar 03, 2010 NHTSA campaign number: 10v074000 component(s): fuel system, other all products associated with this recall: vehicle makemodelmodel year(s) Nissanarmada2005-2009 we have spoken with the dealership where our vehicle has been since Monday, 4/28/14, and the corporate/regional offices for Nissan. 2 diagnostic tests have been run, and did confirm that this is the issue with our vehicle. The corporate office will not approve the repair for our vehicle and now will not return my calls from Wednesday and today. We have been given an estimate from the dealership and have been told they have also been notified this repair will not be covered by Nissan regardless of it being the exact issue covered under the listed recall, and our vehicle is a 2005 Nissan Armada. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle failed without warning. The contact stated that the fuel gauge erroneously displayed that the fuel tank was three quarters full. The failure was recurring. The vehicle was towed to the contact¿s residence and was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 115,952.
Vehicle started fine as usual, but as we were taking off to drive out driveway. The engine stalled and would not restart even though starter was turning. The fuel gauge was showing a quarter of a tank fuel level. I called Nissan dealer and they said it may be fuel sending unit. Put about 4 gallons of gas in gas tank and engine started, but still showed quarter of a tank on fuel gauge. The fuel tank was evidently empty even though gauge was showing it had fuel in tank. This could have been a very serious safety issue if this had happened on the freeway. Nissan dealer says our vehicle VIN is not in the recall, but it is evident that this vehicle has the same issue as the recalled vehicle. This problem needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
We bought this car used. The fuel gauge does not work once it gets down to 1/4 of the tank left. I was driving my car on a city street when all of the sudden my car just turned off. Luckily I was able to slowly steer over to the side of the road. I had no idea what was going on because my fuel gauge said I still had 1/4 tank left of gas. This could've been far more dangerous if I would've run out of gas on a freeway or highway. There was a recall for this year and model for the fuel gauge inaccuracy, but when I called they said my VIN didn't match the recall.
Driving down the interstate, my Armada fuel needle showed I had 1/4 tank of gas. The vehicle shut down and I was stuck on the side of the highway for 3 hours. When the vehicle was towed and a diagnostic check was done, I was told the vehicle had run out of gas. I was told by the dealer that the fuel system had been under recall by Nissan. Nissan says that my vehicle is not apart of the recall, even though, I have the same year and model of the other vehicles recalled.
The instrument panel fuel gauge may inaccurately display that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty.
The instrument panel fuel gauge inaccurately displays that the vehicle still has some fuel, about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty. The vehicle stop working on several occasions while I was driving on the road with my family in the truck. I did not now that it was because of the gas. Fortunately no-one was hurt but it could have produced a series car crash also, passenger airbag light comes on so dealer had to change the old one.
Brake booster malfunctions during normal driving causing unsafe breaking. Brakes almost lock up when pedal is depressed. You have to pull off the road, turn truck off and back on to work, and sometimes you have to do 2 or 3 times. Dealer wants $1k to fix booster and from what I have read, it does not always work fuel gauge malfunctioned, ran out of gas 2 times when gauge still shows 1/4 tank. This is a recall on newer vehicles but mine is a 2005. Airbag light is on and dealer states needs replacing.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the fuel gauge inaccurately displayed that the vehicle had fuel although the fuel tank was empty. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel sender unit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 126,000 and the current mileage was 130,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would not read accurately. The vehicle stalled while the contact was driving 45 mph due to the fuel gauge reading that the fuel tank was full when it was actually empty. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who inspected the vehicle and advised that there was no fuel in the vehicle and that the fuel gauge failed. The vehicle was not repaired and the dealer offered no assistance. The manufacturer was notified who advised the contact that there was a recall for the failure under NHTSA campaign id number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other: storage: fuel gauge system) however, the recall campaign was closed despite the fact that the contact's vehicle was included in the recall. The manufacturer offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was 139,160. . . . Updated 12/03/bf the consumer stated that the fuel gauage broke once in 2007. The vehicle was repaired. The consumer was reimbursed for the repairs under recall in 2010. The fuel gauge failed again with the same issue in 2012. Updated 12/5/2012.
I was driving down an interstate with my wife and 3 children at 75 mph. All of a sudden the car stalled and died. Power steering was lost and the vehicle quickly decelerated. I was able to flash the car behind me so we were not rear-ended and then we coasted to the side of the road. We had the vehicle towed to a local repair shop who told us about the current NHTSA campaign #10v517000. In the meantime my wife looked on some message boards and people reported a fuel tank problem on the Armadas, where the fuel guage shows there is 1/4 of a tank of gas when in reality it is empty. We put some gas in the tank and it started up. We took the vehicle to Nissan dealership and they replaced the ecm relay recall, but said the fuel switch (NHTSA # 10v07400) was VIN specific and we had to pay out of pocket. I believe our vehicle should be a part of this recall and Nissan should reimburse us for these repair costs.
My 2005 Nissan Armada fuel gauge is reading incorrectly. When the fuel gauge gets down to 1/4 of a tank it stops registering. I found this out because twice I thought I had a 1/4 of a tank left but there was actually no gas in my tank and I ran out of gas in the middle of the highway. I took my car to the Nissan of mckinney dealership and they said my VIN number did not fall under the recall and couldn't fix it, even though it was having the same issue as the recall for the Armada. I submitted a complaint to Nissan and they rejected my request to have Nissan pay for it because my VIN wasn't part of the recall. If Nissan knows this is an issue with the aramda why wouldn't all Armada be covered?.
