Automatic Emergency Braking Problems of Nissan Armada

Bci malfunction light comes on after driving for about one mile and will stay like that till the vehicle is turned off. The cruise control will not work during this time. On other online forum a lot of Nissan owners have the same issue but Nissan dealership said that there is no recall on this. I did purchase new brake switches both of them and it got worse. A bunch of other lights come on and the car will not start at all. I removed the new brake switches and cleaned the old ones. Put them back and is doing the same thing were after one mile the bci light will come on.

There is a common known issue with the Armadas that Nissan has not addressed, where you will randomly get a "bci malfunction" warning, sometimes corresponding to a warning about the abs system. The car will not shift out of the current gear when this happens, until you turn it off and back on again. If you are really unlucky, like I am, this will progress to the car randomly applying the brakes and initiating hard stops, in traffic. This happened to me two days ago in traffic and I narrowly escaped an accident. I had to get the car towed home and it still intermittently does this. The brakes locked up so badly that the car was covered in smoke and appeared to be on fire. This is terribly unsafe, and Nissan needs to fix it, because it is more likely that an Armada owner will encounter this, than that they won't, and people are going to be injured and/or killed, if they have not already. This is very serious. Please help.

I’m reaching out with an urgent issue regarding my 2021 Nissan Armada platinum, which is part of our ongoing lemon law case, case # 2023-1489 division b (avoyelles parish, la. ) I began experiencing electrical issues with the vehicle early on, around 10,000 miles. The initial problems included all the screens going black and remaining unresponsive for extended periods. Additionally, the sensors would malfunction when backing up or pulling forward, causing the vehicle to brake hard and stop unexpectedly. The situation has now become significantly more dangerous. The sensors are sporadically activating while I’m driving at highway speeds, causing the car to brake extremely hard without warning. This puts me, my passengers, and others on the road at serious risk of an accident. I contacted the dealership, but they refuse to service the vehicle due to the open lemon law case. I’ve also documented the issue with notes and photos to support this claim. Given the severity of this safety concern, I urgently request your guidance seeking immediate relief from the court or expediting the trial process. Pressuring the manufacturer to address this safety hazard or provide a loaner vehicle. Exploring any additional legal remedies to resolve the immediate safety risk. Please let me know the next steps as soon as possible. This is a time-sensitive, life-threatening issue, and I’m very concerned about driving the vehicle any further. I have had this issue more than 5 times. When I am driving my breaks will lock up like it detects something in the road. I have had cars stop and almost rear end me multiple times. It happens at speeds higher than 20. I am very worried for my safety and my children’s safety in this vehicle.

As I was driving my Nissan Armada the car suddenly stopped as it does if it feels there may be an accident. There was nothing around the truck at that moment and the truck just jolted and didn’t advance. After this the engine light turned on and it does not accelerate properly .

The car in front of me stopped short and neither the collision warning or emergency braking activated or alerted at all, making no attempt to stop the vehicle, resulting in a collision.

I was approaching a railroad track, and my truck slammed on brakes coming to a complete stop. With other cars behind me twice, this is the second time that has happened I was almost hit in the back.

Bci malfunction out of nowhere on a newly dealer-purchased 2020 Nissan Armada with less than 80,000 miles, which is a known and frequent issue on Nissan Armadas. . . And causes unsafe conditions such as random braking, failure to start, rough engine, rough shifting. . . And lights up the dashboard with bci malfunction light, intelligent key warning light, vehicle dynamic control indicator light, bsi light, forward emergency braking warning light.

The entire dashboard, infotainment, and climate controls go blank, this happens all the time. Today, every warning light on the entire dashboard lit up buzzing, had to pull over to turn off car, open door and re start. This is very distracting, and dangerous. This gives no warning at all, it just happens. Been to the dealer 6 times now, on our way for 7. Two times we were at the dealer we were told there is nothing they can do until manufacturer puts out a software new update, the changed entire infotainment system, usb ports etc, the problem has seemed to have gotten worse.

There many times eather one backing up that breaks come on or if I driveing and something just slightly in my lane brakes come on this can cause huge probems. 1) it cause car to wreck 2) it wares breaks down faster as it applying brakes when not neeeded note in curse control going down a hill car is unable to keep it speed the same no programing for this was done, two cruse control has be on for any of safty feachers work 3 if u comeing up on car fast breaks will not come on in short u will hit car in front u there is huge programing probem with this u would think that the programeing would not be so badly made I notace these probems but they cant find any codes wich would cause it and u have recreat what made it happen first time car will slow down if in cruse control but I dont get why wont stop the car if car in front is stop and u comeing up on it to fast the programing is all over internet that there huge probem I ask that they be force to fix the breaks, also this is a 6000 ib car front brakes on my Dodge charger was twice as big why to stop it why are breaks in front and rotor so small this might not be spots car but ways more then h1 hummer.

I was driving a rented 2021 Nissan Armada. The brakes of this vehicle locked up when I was trying to avoid rear ending a car that had suddenly jumped in front of me. Instead of being able to control the braking, once I put the brake on, I tried to let up a little to see if I could stop the vehicle from skidding. However once I put my foot down on the brake it continued to stay depressed. I noticed that the vehicle was sliding and the steering wheel was also locked. I couldn't swerve to the left or right. I hit the van in front of me, the air bags deployed--driver's side air bag broke open and let out noxious gas. I have never driven a vehicle with such aeb troubles. If this is how the 2021 Nissan Armada acts, then other will find themselves not being able to avoid an accident as well. - cheryl d. , frederick, MD, us.

Vehicle does not recognize that the brake pedal is being depressed when trying to start the car. Pushing the start button only cycles the ignition through the on and acc options. The only way to start the vehicle is to use the remote start function on the fob. Additionally, the vehicle experiences and displays a bci malfunction, aeb braking warning, and traction control indicator light is now on. These errors occur while using both key fobs even after replacing the fob batteries. There is a Nissan service bulletin for replacing the brake light switch for multiple Nissan vehicles.
