Nissan Armada owners have reported 127 problems related to equipment (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Nissan Armada based on all problems reported for the Armada.
The Armada drains the battery for no reason. The frontal collision warning comes on while driving even if no car are near and stays on. Car has power but will not start or release the gear to neutral. This has happen in several occasions and then it starts later on and no code for draining battery was found at dealer. They try to blame it on the trailer brake. I remove it and it still does the same. Trailer brake wiring was done at factory. Car only has 20428 miles.

I keep receiving a message on my screen that says sonar system error please contact your dealer for assistance. Now, the alert for the tire, oil, and fitler will not reset.
I was driving to work on the morning of 11/17/2020, when I hit a deer with a front of my SUV. The front end of my SUV was severely damaged which caused the airbag to deploy, when the airbag deployed I thought it may have burnt me instead it was emblem retaining ring from the inside of the steering wheel that holds the plastic advertisement / emblem of the vehicle come out and cut / impaled me across the neck. Which led me to going to the er in the back of an ambulance. When I got to the er the doctor on call said if it would have been an inch over it would have cut the main culinary artery which I would have bled to death. At the er I received x-rays and stitches now I'm left with a scar.

I purchase my Nissan Armada in April 2019. In November 2019 the car left me stranded with a death battery. I had to get it jump started and then drive it to the dealership, a low battery. This happened again in December 2019, same issue , they checked and changed the the battery. This year I had the same issue 4 times already sometimes parked at my house some at public areas, through out the year, the first two times they had to jump started . The third time the mechanic they sent couldn't started, since I was stranded in a public parking lot another person had to help. The fourth time the towing company could not get it started and it had to be towed. They have checked the ignition, the battery, the electrical and they can't find what is making the battery drain power and leave it useful. The dealerships respond is, to drive it longer distance once a week or to buy a power battery for my house to charge it once a week! the car is still in the shop since I will not take this as a logical explanation, for a new car with only 9. 800 miles. Their solutions are 1- to buy a larger battery at my cost and lose the warranty from them ,2- buy a battery tender to charge my car once a week ( at my own cost) 3- buy a new car ( our request to see options) and for them is a regular tradeoff. They can't find the problem and their solutions are not logical. Compared to other models and brands, with even less driving habits than mine , I don't see them having to go through this or charging their cars at home!! they don't have an answer and their solution as they tell me won't guarantee the car will work. And the worst part they all cost me money! it is sad that my investment and reliability on a family car is not giving me the confidence, safety and is a hazel when this happens. I have my toddler to transport and I hate to be stuck somewhere with no help.
During normal driving, bci light will appear and then all dash warning lights and car will handle sluggishly. Upon stopping and attempting to restart car, vehicle will not start for upwards of 30 minutes. Once vehicle is in park and vehicle is restarted. . . Gear shift cannot be moved from park to drive. This has endangered my family by occuring at traffic lights at busy intersections and unprotected railroad crossings. Please investigate this before someone is killed because of this defect.

While driving, the brakes will engage involuntary and most the lights on the dashboard light up. A message bci malfunction appears. Car can not accelerate at a safe speed until car is parked and restarted. Sometimes it will not start up immediately, leaving the occupants of the vehicle stranded.
While driving at rate of 45 miles per hour in the city of oxnard, CA in my 2017 Nissan Armada sl, the car started to immediately slow down to a speed of 5 miles per hour, which almost caused an accident. The antiskid and 4x4 lights and check engine light came on, but the car could not accelerate. I had to pull over to allow traffic to continue. After waiting for several minutes with the car off I restarted the car and then drove as normal. I took the vehicle to get looked at, but the technician couldn't determine the cause using diagnostic equipment. The car continues to drive normal, but then stalls and the same issue arises.

Having issues with my dome lights staying on, once all the doors, are closed. I've had this checked 3 times, at 2 different Nissan's and know one can find the issue. I'm putting it in the shop, later this week I've had to replace the battery, do to the dome lights, being on and I have no knowledge until my family comes home, or my neighbor lets us know. I just purchased this vehicle in March 2020.
Opened the car and found my rear overhead console hanging by the electrical wires in the back seat. Please note that the vehicle was stationary for 3 days. 2 months later, while driving, the front overhead console fell off and dangled infront of the windshield.
Had battery replaced in October 2019 and brake switch due to vehicle not starting. I had to have vehicle towed. Now, having same issue with vehicle not starting. Having it towed to dealership in dallas.
Truck will not start after several attempts. Have had battery replaced in September due to the same problem. Have had the brake switched replaced due to dealership stating that they couldn't find a problem but replaced switch anyway (longview,TX). I took vehicle back to original dealership on today, clay cooley of dallas,TX and they provided me with a two page list of codes and asked has the vehicle ever been in a wreck. I told them not to my knowledge unless it happened before I purchased it from their lot. They stated that they couldn't make a diagnosis and this time and sent me back home with a vehicle that keeps me stranded and having to boost off.
Vehicle was parked in driveway. Went to leave house and the overhead rear console was hanging from ceiling by wires and console was resting on my child's car seat. Fortunately my family was not in the vehicle at the time of failure.

Vehicle sonar system didn't warned driver about obstacle which resulted in hitting it causing damage to the rear while backing up bumper. It works fine 90% of the time but it didn't at least twice when my wife hit lamp and 2nd time poll . I took vehicle to baker Nissan explained what happened but they didn't find anything wrong with it. When I asked how many times they tested it the response was: 1 time representative tried backing up and 1 time mechanic.
The airbag light is staying on. No codes read this problem. If the vehicle is running the airbag dash light remains on. The check engine light is not on.

Purchased new 11/30/2018. On 10/4/19 (mileage: 9,742), vehicle was parked and would not start. Dealership (northpark) claimed faulty battery and replaced. On 12/11/19 (mileage: 12,241), vehicle was parked and would not start. Same dealership replaced "faulty brake light switch". On 1/27/20 (mileage: 13,409), car was parked and would not start. Same dealership replaced "faulty battery". Each time vehicle was disabled, we were able to get it running by charging the battery and driving to the dealership, which is located 4-5 miles from home/work. It is noted that the voltage needle moves excessively while the vehicle is in use. It continues to do so at this time. Concerns were brought to the service advisor that it is not faulty batteries - however, service dept. Stated they have an diagnostic tests and cannot find anything wrong. On 1/27/20, called Nissan consumer affairs but as of 1/29/20 my calls have not been returned.
When I am towing my 4000 lb trailer, using a weight distribution hitch, set up properly by my RV specialist, with either unloaded or with a loaded weight not exceeding even 6000 pounds, the Armada sinks in the back end in a way that the rear tires come extremely close to the wheel well rims. My RV specialist is very concerned that if I am driving and hit a bump or hole, the tire could strike the wheel well rim and cause a blow out or major accident. They are concerned the spring ratio is not designed properly for the Armada (which has a tow package and is supposedly capable of towing 8500 pounds). I have brought this issue to Nissan north America's attention and they will not even take a look at the problem, instead telling me that if an accident occurs, it is covered under my warranty!.
Bci malfunction message displayed on the dash along with other indicators. Vehicle wouldn't start. Service department suggested to continue to press the brake and push start button while I waited for road side assistance tow. After about 15 min the vehicle started. Minutes later the vehicle was on but would not move out of park. Continued to attempt while waiting for tow again and it eventually went out of park. The next day it would not start again and eventually did. Dropped off at dealer for service. Picked up that afternoon and was told they replaced the brake switch. I drove less than a mile away and the bci malfunction message came on again and displayed other warning lights again as well. I was back at the dealership within 5 minutes of departing and placed in the same small loaner vehicle that did not fit my family. Picked it up my Armada the next day around noon and was told they now replaced the brake sensor. Drove off and made one stop on my way back to work which is 4 miles from the dealership and before I made it there the bci malfunction light came on again. After much conversation and frustration the vehicle is back at the dealership for the 4th time for the same problem. I purchased the vehicle new June 13, 2019 and the problems started sept 4th 2019.
Bought this used on June 25,2019 with approximately 46860 miles on it from wolfchase chysler in bartlett,TN. I am in the medical field and today (8/2/18) was trying to leave work today and my car would not crank. In the process, I noticed that the brake wouldn't catch and when I finally was able to crank it, the shifter wouldn't go out of park. It was stuck. This happened 2 more times before driving down the road on a trip and this warning light bci malfunction as we are driving down the road. My brakes became really touchy and I had to pull off the road to keep from having an accident. Then, I had to cut it off and keep trying to get it going bc I couldn't get the malfunction to go away or even come on to put it back in gear. This is a huge safety hazard and traveling with two children could have been extremely hazardous today. I am requesting Nissan and the dealership take responsibility for this problem after paying a huge price for a premium vehicle. . . The last thing I need to do is be broke down on the side of the road.
I was making a left turn at a stop light when the complete ceiling console (lights, rear climate control button, sun roof buttons) fell out of ceiling of vehicle. I attempted to catch with one hand while controlling vehicle with other hand. Upon pulling over and parking vehicle, I found that some how the plastic had broken on both screws/bolts that was holding it in place. Not sure what could have caused this but the dropping of the unit completely startled me while driving.
Is giving a delta stroke sensor c1179 and also suddenly the brake lights turns on and can't use the brakes and I have to turn it off and on again and it will go away but it happens even if I am on the highway and it worries me. Please let me know what is this code because nobody seems to know. This has happened a couple of times.
I was on the freeway going 60 mph when this happened . Having problems with the brake booster brake pedal goes all the way to the floor and doesn't wanna break on time also makes a weird noises this only happens when the brake light is on I have to turn off the vehicle and start again and then it won't do it for a while and then after a while it happen again so scary.
For several month now off and on while I'm driving the truck makes a loud noise, steering wheel shakes then I heard a spring noise. It almost feels like the truck is going to fall apart. Then the slip amd vdc off sensor comes on. Then it stops sensor lights go away. Then it happens again, it's been real frequent lately.

My car died after came out from store the car crank but it won't start no engine light on new fuel pump new spark pug new fuel relay still a lot people say it may be I p d m.
Bought a new 2018 Nissan Armada in Dec 2018 in the evening. Not thinking much about it purchased my new SUV and drove home. Shortly after my purchase I noticed in the sun that my truck paint didn't look quite right. After washing I noticed a couple paint chips around the door area that were quite significant. Contacted Nissan promptly about this issue. After taking to a Nissan collision center and being told its a bad quality paint and will only be correct with being stripped down to the metal and redone, this was completely disregarded by Nissan. They then sent me a "specialist" who told me that paint chips are common and that my orange peel is in the new black Armada is to help hide imperfections. Nissan will not warranty anything. Nissan is selling autos with inferior paint quality. I am seeking legal advice and this is a lesson learned about Nissan products.
Adc slip light come on the car cut off and have no power motion and in park hightway and street.
The fuel shows that I have a quarter of a tank or a bit more left and the number mileage on the screen shows the same. My vehicle randomly stops without warning. This has happened 3 times. I had the vehicle repaired last year for the same reason and here I am again. I see there is a recall and my car was not included. I called Nissan and the representative told me told contact NHTSA to be more effective. . . . . He acknowledged the problem with the trucks. I feel as though it is a definite safety hazard. We were lucky this time. My air bag light will not shut off either and he mentioned this was another recall. . Why did this VIN miss the recalls. It clearly has those issues. They want me to go to a dealer and I cannot afford to do that. The dealers are more expensive. Hopefully there is assistance. There is a rattle with the a/c fan. I don't know what is going on with that however I have an odor from it as well. Again I am bringing it back to the mechanic however the tow company gave me the recall info and I don't understand how this truck was missed. Can you help with the recall for us. Recall #'s 10v51700,10v074000,10v349000. Our thanks.
Vehicle keeps dying saying no key found, it has already been to service and battery replaced in the key, it's a brand new battery.
Front skidplate bolt broken no accident.

Driving the vehicle under normal city driving conditions the interior overhead console simply fell down and was left hanging by attached wires. Nobody had touched or otherwise manipulated the console. It fell in two stages, at first it drooped and then moments later fell and luckily did not hit our daughter in the head.
When I went out to the garage to get something out of my truck this morning the front console had fallen completely down, and when I checked the rear console that one is lose.
Is mine on a recall? , because one of 4 readings 'takata recall ' tires pressure on my vehicle is not working.
On sudden brake n battery sign comes up n stop brake stops workinbrg . . Once restart all signs on dashboard disappear and everything works fine. . Thn again after driving couple of mins or miles brakes n accelerator-stops working. . N took to Nissan dealer they couldn't find anything wrong but it happened with lots of people who has Nissan pathfinder Armada le so they should take this issue seriously cz anything can happen to anyone. . Thanks god we got saved we was in a highway.
