I have 109,000+ miles on my 2008 Nissan Armada. While driving home I noticed my rear window had clouded and within a few seconds I saw my rpms rev to over 4000. I disengaged the cruise control to prevent it from trying to maintain my speed of 70 mph. At that point I lost the drive from the transmission. Luckily I was able to coast to a stop on the shoulder of an exit without an accident. Once stopped I checked to see if the transmission would engage enough for me to drive it into a service station parking lot; it did. I looked at the vehicle and had transmission fluid from the driver's side front wheel to the rear end of the vehicle. I found fluid accumulated in the front skid pan. Being out of warranty I contacted the Nissan dealer I purchased the vehicle from and a transmission specialist company to discuss. Nissan dealer told me they know of no problems Nissan is having like this, but I would have to replace the transmission, oil cooler, and radiator. . . . Approximately $7,000. 00+. The transmission specialist I called immediately told me the problem with my vehicle as soon as I mentioned I lost drive power. He told me I have the same problem with the transmission oil cooler cracking allowing water to enter the transmission causing damage the two Nissan Armadas he had recently repaired. He told me to check with Nissan before doing anything because Nissan had to extend transmission warranties on several models. They use the VIN # for legibility. I contacted Nissan (1-800-Nissan 1). They said my VIN # wasn't in the program so it is not covered even though I have the same problem that their other vehicles are having. How is this possible? other problems from the beginning. . . 4 fuel sending units - still inaccurate, several attempts to repair back camera system including replacing it - still blanking out or scrolling out of control, and roof console just dropping off.

Dear sir or MA' on christmas eve, in the evening, my husband, daughter, and I were driving back home from fairfield, illinois to glen carbon, illinois, when our 2007 Nissan Armada failed us. There was a house a short walk down the road, so my husband ran down there for assistance. Obviously, it was cold and dark outside. My daughter (4 years old) and I (pregnant at the time) stayed inside the locked car. My husband came back quickly as there was no answer at the door of said house. He then called his sister whom was an hour away to have her come help assist us. Meanwhile a man stopped and offered to help. He offered a jump start and gas. Neither worked but he was able to call a local acquaintance of his to tow our vehicle. The charge for this service on christmas eve was $350. So my husband's sister picked us up, and our car was towed the remaining 45 minute distance to our home. After all was said and done, it turns out the car just needed an extra gallon of gas to get it started. Now almost thirty days after this incident, I am in receipt of a recall notice from Nissan stating that: the fuel gauge may be inaccurate due to a malfunction in the fuel level sending unit. Given that, we file this complaint. I believe Nissan is responsible for the circumstances of our christmas eve which cost us several hours and several hundred dollars. Please advise.

While driving the vehicle in rush hour traffic, the entire system shut down and the vehicle had to coast accross three lanes of traffic at a speed of 40 miles per hour. There were fou people in the vehicle, two adults and two children who were all extremely frightened by the experience. At least one vehicle traveling behind ours had to come to a fast hault just barely missing the rear end of the truck. I hd the vehicle towed by aaa because it would not start or crack up. After leaving the vehicle with my private mechanic for one day he discovered that the fuel system was not functioning properly. I then called my local Nissan dealer to explain the issue and to see if a recall had been done in regards to this issue I was told "no" and that I would have to pay to have it fixed because my extended warranty was up. I then asked if the vehicle had any recent recalls and was told no. After speaking withmy mechanic again, he told me that the vehicle had a recall but it was voluntary by the dealer and only for Nissan Armada models 2005-2008, my vehicle is a 2004 but has the exact same problem and could have killed my family.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The vehicle was included in the recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other:storage:fuel gauge system) and had repairs performed. The contact stated that the fuel gauge had not failed before the repairs were performed. After the repairs, the contact noticed the fuel gauge read empty while parked. After driving the vehicle the fuel gauge reading fluctuated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The technician stated the fuel gauge would have to be replaced. The repair would not be covered under the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,064. Updated 09/21/lj.
Check engine light remained on due to catalytic converter failure. Received warranty notice from Nissan of problem with catalytic failure, however, my mileage prevented free replacement. My state require emission testing each year, therefore, without replacement I would be unable to register my truck. My truck was purchased new and is service on a regular basis. Paid for replacement.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact turned the key off and tried to restart the engine and the vehicle would not start. All of the electrical components continued operation. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and the dealer discovered a faulty sender unit. The dealer replaced the sender unit. After the repairs, the check engine light illuminated so the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer. The diagnostic test showed that the catalytic convert malfunctioned and would need to be replaced. The dealer replaced the catalytic convert and a month later, the catalytic converter failure recurred. The contact inquired with the manufacturer in regards to NHTSA campaign id number: 10v074000 (fuel system, other:storage:fuel gauge system) but was advised that his VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was investigating whether or not the vehicle should be added to the recall. The failure mileage was 96,500.
The vehicle unexpectedly shut down while I was driving on a highway at 65 mph. The engine shutdown completely but the electrical parts were still functioning. Luckily I was driving at a time when there was no traffic so I was able to coast to the side of the road. I waited for about 5 minutes and tried to re-start the vehicle hoping that I could at least get home. After about 20 minutes and a couple of attempts, the vehicle did start but stalled and shut down again a few blocks from home while I was driving at 35mph. Again I was able to coast to the side of the road and tried to re-start it with no success. At this point I had the vehicle towed. The Nissan dealership changed the ipdm and supposedly fixed the vehicle. I picked it up and after driving only 10 miles, it would not start back up. I took it back to the dealer again and they came back saying that now the catalytic converters had to be replaced and informed me that both the ipdm and catalytic converters were a common issue with the Armada. Sounds to me like a recall should be in place for this. I can only thank god for helping me to stay calm when the vehicle shutdown and that neither my kids or I got into an accident on the freeway. What makes this matter worse is that there was no warning! no engine light or anything to warn you of the failure or danger!.
Everytime I fill up my gas on 2004 Armada the fuel gauge only shows 3/4 full not full.
Nissan Armada (2007) fuel indicator malfunctions and subsequently causes the vehicle to run out of fuel.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Armada. The driver stated that the fuel gauge was defective, causing the vehicle to run out of fuel while driving on the freeway at approximately 65 mph. The driver was able to safely pull over on the side of the freeway. The failure mileage was approximately 69,600. The current mileage was approximately 69,700.
I own a Nissan Armada (2005). While driving normally in highway conditions, the vehicle has stalled out and quit running on 3 occasions. After the first incident, I had it towed to a dealership but no work was done since they could not get the vehicle to repeat the problem. About a month later the same thing happened again. The vehicle had to be towed back the dealership again. This time I was told the problem was related to the "integrated power distribution module (ipdm). After looking up this problem on the internet, I discovered that this has been a continuing problem with both older and newer Armadas (as well as other Nissans). I do not know if there have been crashes resulting from this problem but I do feel this is a safety issue that Nissan needs to address.
My fuel gauge is not working correct and I am moveing from florida to new york soon. I did not have a incident.

Throttle control: within two days after purchase (9-5-09), there was erratic control of the engine. Engine sputtered and accelerated without any pressure on the gas pedal and at other times the engine decelerated when pressure was applied to the gas pedal. On 9-9-09, the vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealership and the throttle body of the engine was replaced. No incident since the repair. Information only.

Nissan could provide help outside the u. S. The car damage on a mission back to the states
as I could not finish the mission because Nissan is mechanical damage, I lost my job, leaving me no money to pick up the car

Fuel sending unit does not accurately indicate fuel level- this was reported when the vehicle was new - estimated date above. Was told by dealer it was not a problem. Nissan is recalling on other models and on the Armada but only on specific years but not the 2004. This could be a potentially dangerous situation if I run out of gas and the gauge is still reading that there is gas.
Fuel sending unit does not accurately indicate the fuel level. This was brought to the attention of the Nissan service dept in henderson nevada when the car was new and with every vehicle service or repair since - most recently in June 2011. I was initially told it was normal due the type of fuel indicator. Now I see there are recalls on other Nissan Armadas but different years and on other Nissan models. This could create a serious safety issue if I am unable to detect my fuel level accurately. Nissan refuses to stand behind their vehicles. They know it is a problem in their vehicles and will honor a replacement on some vehicles but not others.
