1 Tank Assembly problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/05/2013

Wife was driving and gas gauge showed 1/8 tank. Vehicle almost ran out of gas on her. She made it to gas station on fumes. Also, had it happen the other way around not long after first issue. Gas light came on so she went to get gas. After filling vehicle up she found that the tank had 6-7 gallons of gas left in it. It seems fuel sending unit is bad / faulty in this Armada as well as many others. Vehicle (gas gauge) could lead her to believe she has gas and then she could run out of gas somewhere.

2 Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 06/10/2013

I was driving when my vehicle shut down and I lost power steering. Although my gas gauge said 1/4 tank, the end result was that I ran out of gas. I contacted Nissan and they told me that the vehicle was taken in for a previous recall to fix this problem. Obviously it didn't work, and the next time it happens one of my kids could be driving, or it could result in a serious accident. What can I even do to repair it, if the first repair didn't work?.

4 Tank Assembly problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 01/03/2012

My 2005 Nissan Armada has the problem described in NHTSA #10v-074. Nissan claims my vehicle is not part of the recall even thought the recall is for 2005 - 2009 Nissan Armadas. It is very frustrating to have a safety problem, learn that the manufacturer is aware of it and has a recall, but to be told that it doesn't apply to your vehicle. Clearly it does, because I have the exact problem described, "issue can cause the fuel gauge to show that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when fuel tank is empty. ".

6 Tank Assembly problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/15/2011

Driving our Nissan Armada at apprx 15mph and went over a tree branch that could not be avoided that had fallen, with no injury to our vehicle but caused a large leak in the gas tank. Now the punctured gas tank has to be replaced. The risk of this large puncture in the tank from such a minor impact could have resulted in an explosion of the vehicle. Fuel tanks should not be made in a manner that they are so vulnerable to damage because it is a hazard.

Failure Date: 09/26/2010

2006 Nissan Armada stall on freeway while driving fluids were checked in 3 days ago had a little over 1/4 tank of gas. 11 Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 06/10/2010

On June 10th, 2010 I was driving home in the fast lane/ carpool lane (approx 2:15pm) and my car immediately decrease in acceleration. I knew I could not make it over to the right hand shoulder and I had to pull off into the left hand shoulder (this was very unsafe) I immediately called my roadside assistance and while I was on hold a highway patrol officer pulled up behind me. He was able to contact another patrol officer and they stopped all traffic and the first highway patrol officer pushed me to the righthand shoulder. The gas gauge was a little over 1/4 tank. The tow truck arrived and took me to the gas station - after putting in gas the car started right up. The gas station attendant said "wow, another Nissan out of gas - do you know I get so many Armadas' and infinities that come in here with no gas" I received a recall notice approx 2 months ago and immediately went to the Nissan dealership - they informed me that the part was not yet available and they would call me, I contacted the dealership last Friday and again today - they do not expect to receive this part for another 2-3 weeks. I called the Nissan consumer affairs today and there is nothing they can do - I informed them that this was just like Toyota and I requested a rental / loaner vehicle - they could not accomodate that request. This has put me in a terrifying situation. The woman at Nissan consumer told me to keep my tank 1/2 full and I informed her that they letter I just received stated to keep it at a 1/4 tank full so that was a discrepancy.

12 Tank Assembly problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/27/2010

2005 Nissan Armada fuel gauge is not accurate and causing my Armada to ran out of fuel in the mid of highway speed at 65mph. The fuel gauge saying I have 1/4 tank left as the car shutdown in the busy 65mph highway traveling, very close call on accident. Took the SUV to mossy Nissan of houston, I was told there's no recall on my SUV VIN specific. I was told there's a recall 2005-2009 but on VIN # specific only.

13 Tank Assembly problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/22/2010

Our 2004 Nissan Armada le has always had a problem with the fuel gauge not reading correctly. Even after filling up, it never reads full, or even when less than 1/4 tank, the fuel gauge will read at half or more. Then it will drastically drop from the 1/2 tank marker down to empty. Nissan has issued a recall for the fuel sending unit but have omitted the 2004-2005 Nissan Armadas even though the problem with this fuel sending unit has been notorious for these models. Nissan and its affiliate service depts are refusing to acknowledge the problem knowingly it exists.

14 Tank Assembly problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/26/2009

Around 7/09, my Armada just stopped on the freeway (according to the gas gauge, we had a 1/2 tank left). . . Then found out on 7/27/09 that gas gauge was faulty, so I had to pay $560. 21 to antioch Nissan to have that replaced. On 3/3/10, heard on the news there's a recall on fuel gauge on my Nissan & got my reimbursement & had fuel gauge replaced again on 4/2/10. . . Once in a while when I put gas in my Armada, it takes forever for the gas gauge to go up to where it's supposed to be (ie. I put $40 which should put it in 1/2 tank. . . I drove 5 miles before it actually got from 1/4 tank to 1/2 tank. . . I took pictures of this occurrence).
