I have spent over 600 dollars to find out that the transmission control module is bad and that there was a recall to fix coolent leaking into the transmission fluid. My vehicle is still broken because of the part cost 1100 usd and the repair. Total bill is 1600 usd. This was a known problem and should be fixed without me paying a dime. My vehicle was in motion. Now it won't even get up to speed the transmission sounds as if it is stuck in a gear. Very erratic. My cruise control also just blinks and when the mechanic tested the codes it gave a network failure code.

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2015

The transmission on my truck suddenly went out with no warning during my morning commute in heavy traffic on the 202 loop in phoenix. Shifting to a different gear had the same effect as stepping on the gas, which was that the engine revved with no increase or decrease in speed. I had to coast across 4 lanes of fast moving traffic. It was an incredibly dangerous situation. I am told by the Nissan dealership that transmission fluid mixed with coolant and that it was a catastrophic failure. I have received no notices of any kind from Nissan and was shocked to learn that this is a known, commonly occurring defect and that the defect manifests instantaneously and without warning most of the time. Nissan should be held accountable for the defective system and for not notifying me that I should have the dealer fix it before they put my life and property and that of every person around me at risk. Updated 09/15/lj.

I still owe $3600. 00 on this truck ,bought it new with 24 miles on a lease. . . Loved it. . . So after my lease was up I refinanced 2010 with 41501 miles bought a 3 yr extended warranty, never used it . Now after learning about a CO - pay for a truck really Nissan . . . My truck has 81000 miles . . I don't have 2500. 00 to put in it . Time for Nissan to recall it,and face it you have a problem Nissan . Please I need help.

I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier se 4x4 crew cab with 143396 miles and going about 40-45 miles per hrs I hear a catter in the rear of the truck. Made a appointment with a Nissan dealer in my area and the out come was . . The truck needs a transmission and ratiator replacement and it is out of warranty the replacement at the dealer would be a cost to me of 5132. 13 . Nissan had a class action suite in new york and the only win for us consumers whas that they extented the milage to 100. 000 . I called Nissan and was informed that if I had 120. 000 miles on the truck that there would be a cover under the warranty. Nissan knows that there is a issue with trany and ratiator but they did no recalls so now we are stuck. If you are on a fixed income who has over 5000. 00 dollars laying a round for this kind of repair . I can still drive the truck but its not safe if the trany shuts down on the hwy then what ? looks like a accident waiting to happen. Cant have that . So the truck will sit in my yard till I get some answeres that will help me get this issue solved.

26 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2008

I own a 2006 Nissan Frontier, it was delivered with only half the keys programmed for the vehicle, a strange rattling of plastic shrouding in the engine compartment and as I found out a fast set of tires later, the front end out of alignment [ too much toe in ]. When I read the manual I found out that my 4wd vehicle was "not intended to be used off of the road", this was not in any of the presales literature and the reason I buy 4wd is so I can use it off road. At 100 miles after warranty I had to take it in because the fuel sending unit had failed, about a $600 repair on a part that should last 200,000 miles. The mechanic told me their dealership is replacing about one of these a week on a couple of models. When I picked it up I got the trouble light on the way home, I scanned it to see what the problem was [code po448 ]. I took it back. The first canister they ordered showed up broken [ kind of fragile for something mounted on the bottom of a 4wd ]. Parts replaced under the emissions warranty were 14953zp50c filter-canister, 14950-ea20a canister assy. E, and 14935-am60b valve assy. -CO. The service order says " . . . Inspected/found no flow very rusty. . . . ". As the vehicle only has 36,000 miles on it this does not bode well for the future.
