My 2006 Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4 had the fuel gauge quit and the service engine soon light (ses) come on after filling up with fuel around 46,800 miles. The fuel gauge started to work again a few days later but the light will not go off for the ses. This truck has been maintained and serviced above and beyond all manufacturer requirements. I bought this truck in sept of 2006 , so it is not even 3 years old but since the warranty ran out at 36,000 miles I can not go to the dealer because they don't care. I also have had numerous paint issues, fading, chipping and rust on this truck and have , as stated before always taken very good care of it.
Fuel gauge shows empty after filling up followed by 'service engine' light coming on and staying on. Have researched on internet and numerous other complaints as well as verified by my dealer (bankston Nissan, lewisville, TX). Cost to repair $500.
At 41,000miles my 2006 Nissan Frontier v6 began having a malfunctioning fuel sending unit causing improper reading of the fuel gauge. Upon researching this problem, I realized that this is a common problem affecting Nissans with the 4. 0l v6 in xterra's, pathfinders and Frontiers. This usually occurs between 39k-49k miles. Nissan has no recall for this and I feel this is a potential hazard considering that the fuel gauge is misreading. Nissan wants their customers to pay $450 for a part that is defective on their part. 2006 Nissan Frontier 40,000 mi. Gas gauge not working service engine soon light stays on.
With 41,000 miles my 2006 Nissan Frontier is giving me an incorrect gas gauge reading. Apparently this is a common issue with Nissan that they are not addressing.
2006 Nissan Frontier fuel sensor has issues at 39,000 miles. Failure after fuel up.
2006 Nissan Frontier le 4x4 - fuel sending issue. This will be the fourth replacement in 18 months. 2/28/09 approx. 38,000 miles,1/4 full, turned vehicle off to refuel, drove away approx 5 mile down the road fuel gage went to empty, fuel light came on, mileage driven screen below odometer blinks, and check engine light comes on. Paid $380 to fix fuel sending issues. Vehicle work fine - Nissan recall comes out return to dealer and replaces for free. , 6/15/10 replaced at approx 63,000 miles, 3/4 full, start vehicle, fuel sender registers empty w/light on and mileage driven screen blinking, Nissan replaces. 7/28/10 replaced at approx 65,000 mile, 1/4 full, fill vehicle, start vehicle, vehicle is slow to register full, takes about 10 miles to level out. Fill vehicle a second time same issue slow to register full. ¾ full, start vehicle, vehicle registers empty, empty light on and mileage driven screen blinking. 8/09/10 approx 65,500 miles, vehicle ⼠full, turn vehicle on, same issues as above. Called Nissan again they say bring it in and theyll look again.
After refueling, fuel gauge reads empty and service engine soon light comes on. Code can be reset, but issue recurs upon next fill-up.
Service engine soon light comes on after every fill up of fuel. Fuel gauge does not show an accurate reading for approximately 1-2 days. Several other consumers have this problem and Nissan should make it right.
Check engine light came on and fuel gauge is inoperative. Nissan recalled units in this model year for this problem but my case was denied.
Fuel level indicator will not respond after fill up. Then the check engine light came on. Code registered is p0463. Indicates fuel level indicator defective.
My fuel gauge does not work all the time on my 2006 Nissan Frontier 4x4 crew cab nismo. I live in south dakota and my wife and 3 year old daughter drive and ride in this vehicle, with the winter months coming and how dangerously cold it gets in south dakota, this could be a life threatening problem. Not to mention if the truck stalled on the road it could cause an accident. My truck has approx. 46,000 miles on it.
I own a 2006 Nissan Frontier, it was delivered with only half the keys programmed for the vehicle, a strange rattling of plastic shrouding in the engine compartment and as I found out a fast set of tires later, the front end out of alignment [ too much toe in ]. When I read the manual I found out that my 4wd vehicle was "not intended to be used off of the road", this was not in any of the presales literature and the reason I buy 4wd is so I can use it off road. At 100 miles after warranty I had to take it in because the fuel sending unit had failed, about a $600 repair on a part that should last 200,000 miles. The mechanic told me their dealership is replacing about one of these a week on a couple of models. When I picked it up I got the trouble light on the way home, I scanned it to see what the problem was [code po448 ]. I took it back. The first canister they ordered showed up broken [ kind of fragile for something mounted on the bottom of a 4wd ]. Parts replaced under the emissions warranty were 14953zp50c filter-canister, 14950-ea20a canister assy. E, and 14935-am60b valve assy. -CO. The service order says " . . . Inspected/found no flow very rusty. . . . ". As the vehicle only has 36,000 miles on it this does not bode well for the future.
The fuel gauge on my 2006 Nissan Frontier crew cab le 4x4 is malfunctioning and fails to give accurate measurements of the amount of fuel present. I have done research on the internet and found many more Frontier owners who are experiencing the same problem.
