2 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2018

Fuel gauge operating erratic showing empty when I fill up and the low fuel light coming on then after driving it shows a different reading. I don't know how much gas is in it at any time because gauge not working correctly.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2018

My 2007 Nissan Frontier crew cab has 107k miles and for unknown reasons the airbag light will not reset. This is unsafe because the airbags may not work in an accident. Also the fuel gauge is malfunctioning.

6 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2017

Fuel gauge erratic. Check engine light on. I filled truck w gas & was driving on hwy 160 & noticed fuel gauge light on & gauge on empty. There have been recalls for trucks like mine for fuel level sensor sending unit.

7 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2016

Fuel gauge dropped from full to below empty and check engine light came on. Diagnosed with p0463 error code, fuel sensor unit malfunction. It appears that Nissan has replaced the unit on 2006 & 2008 units, but for some reason failed to address the 2007 model year. Vehicle has 54k miles. This could create safety issue if someone runs out of fuel during heavy traffic.

8 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2016

While driving fuel gauge suddenly dropped to empty and caused service engine warning light to come on. This has happened on 5 occasions. Problem seems related to that addressed by NHTSA campaign # 10v075000 for 2006 and 2008 Nissan Frontiers although the 2007 Frontier is not addressed in this campaign.

9 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2015

Never received recall notice for fuel gauge sender unit/float problem - dealer/Nissan will not honor older recall so they say I must pay for repair.

10 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2015

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. While driving at various speeds, the fuel gauge would indicated there was low fuel in the vehicle and would register the incorrect amount of fuel on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel sending unit failed and needed to be replaced. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.

11 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2015

Nissan sold me a new truck with a design flaw, a faulty fuel sending unit. Nissan consumer affairs said I have to take the truck with the design flaw (e. G. Failed fuel sending unit) to a Nissan dealer and pay to have it diagnosed (though the problem is already known to me as being the design flaw of a failed fuel sending unit) after which they would investigate to see if they can provide assistance to repair it though they admitted after checking my VIN they are not aware of any instance that would cover the repair (e. G. They are not going to repair it). The bottom line is I purchased a new Nissan Frontier which I had maintained by a local mechanic (not a Nissan dealership) and it came with a design flaw (e. G. Fuel sending unit) that they want me to pay over a hundred dollars to have diagnosed at one of their dealerships after which they aren't going to fix it for me (despite the face saving act of Nissan consumer affairs). Nissan displayed zero integrity in failing to diagnose and pay to have the design flaw repaired, in my opinion, at their cost. Furthermore, the policy they developed to "save face" is disingenuous in my estimation and designed only to increase their profit further. I'm a low income worker who will drive around with a fuel gauge that doesn't work and the service engine light on because I can't pay the hundreds and hundreds of dollars that it would cost to have a design flaw diagnosed at a Nissan dealership afterwards paying to repair it myself because Nissan isn't going to.

12 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2015

My 2007 Nissan Frontier is experiencing what many other Frontier truck owner are experiencing. . . The dreaded inaccurate fuel gauge readings along with the check engine light. I am blown away that Nissan has not had the courage to order a recall on this well known issue. Hopefully this will not result in a number of fatalities before they "do the right thing". Very unfortunate and a poor form of customer service for owners who will most likely seek a different brand as there next purchase.

13 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge indicated the incorrect reading levels and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000. Djr.

14 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2014

Fuel gauge fails to register proper amount of fuel, triggers check engine light (mil) and reports trouble code showing open circuit in fuel sensor system. This failure requires me to watch mileage by using trip odometer to monitor when to purchase fuel. Could also cause failure of emissions test as check engine light is on. This would be an unnecessary financial burden to fix as well as having a failure of the emissions test based on the fuel sending unit not functioning properly and not from excessive emissions or other emissions control parts. Emissions tests are $50-70 per attempt with dyno runs. Estimated cost of repair is $5-750. 00 for labor and materials. Vehicle was purchased new 7/07 with 50 miles on it as it was delivered from another dealership. Currently has 61,000 miles. Vehicle runs perfect otherwise. Would like Nissan to at least send the replacement part (@ $250).

15 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2014

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated the fuel gauge failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to a independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed stated the the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,000. Bm.

16 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2014

I was told that my vehicle does not have a recall due to the VIN but yet when I went on the safecar. Gov website and the issue's that I am having with my truck is what is on the list. What I don't understand why the place that I get it repair will not honor this. I have the abs/vdc wheel speed sensor and the fuel gauge issues.

17 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2014

My wife ran out of fuel on the road while driving our 2007 Nissan Frontier. . Read more...

18 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2013

Fuel gauge not working properly. I brought the truck to dealer and they determined it was due to faulty fuel level sensor sending unit. Cost: $511 this should be a recall since it is a safety issue in that I could run out of gas on the highway and possibly become involved in a collision.

19 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

Nissan extended a limited warranty for a fuel gauge sending unit which displays incorrect amount of fuel. My Nissan has passed the year of extended warranty not the miles. So Nissan failed my "hardship request" that they sent my case through. Though I did not have any problems with the fuel sending unit until after the warranty expired, Nissan's decision was to deny my fix. I don't see how I can report a problem if it has not occurred. The Nissan official told me over the phone that I had not spent enough money at the dealer ship/has not had my vehicle serviced there enough though my vehicle was there times before and I had maintenance performed at another qualified service center.

20 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2012

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the service engine warning light illuminated as the fuel gauge displayed a false reading. 21 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2012

Check engine light on and fuel gauge inoperative. Will not pass smog as sending unit default. Ran out of gas on highway. Have been using mileage indicator to fill up.

22 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2010

My ses (service engine soon) light has been on for weeks now, the fuel gauge has been completely erratic. I am really worried that I will run out of gas in the middle of nowhere, or run out of fuel and not know and get hit on the freeway! Nissan has a service bulletin out about this very issue but still refuses to do a recall on what they admit is a bad sensor. I have had this diagnosed for free at aamco,(p0463 is the code) Nissan refuses to accept this and wants me to pay them 100. 00+ to let them diagnose what I already know!.

23 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier crew cab. While starting the vehicle he noticed that the fuel level gauge had failed. The contact had recently refueled the vehicle and the fuel level gauge dropped from full to empty and would occur whenever refueling the vehicle. On one occasion, the fuel level gauge read the tank as one-quarter full yet the vehicle stalled because the fuel tank was empty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 42,000 and the current mileage was 46,400.

24 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The check engine light illuminated when he drove the vehicle to a local mechanic. The diagnostic test indicated that the failure was caused by the fuel sending unit. The manufacturer advised the contact to have the dealer diagnose the failure. The dealers diagnostic test determined that the failure was caused by the fuel sending gauge. The manufacturer later stated that they would not offer any assistance with the repairs since the VIN was not included in recall 10v074000 fuel system, other: storage: fuel gauge system. The failure and current mileages were 97,261.

25 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. While driving at approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact discovered that he had run out of gasoline fuel. The fuel level gauge displayed one-fourth of gasoline in the vehicle although there was none. The contact was able to add more fuel to the vehicle and proceed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 49,000.

26 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate level amount of gasoline. The fuel gauge displayed empty while the fuel tank was full and displayed full when the fuel tank was empty. The contact stated that it was difficult to determine how much fuel was in the vehicle and caused the vehicle to stop running due to the failure. The contact stated that there was a related recall for the fuel level sensor for the 2006 and 2008 models but not the 2007. The manufacturer stated that since the vehicle was not a part of the recall they would not repair the vehicle at no charge. The contact stated that the manufacturer should extend the recall to include his year, make and model vehicle. The failure mileage was 76,000. Updated 12/22/lj.

27 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that whenever the vehicle was fueled, the gas gauge would display an inaccurate reading. The gauge would read empty for about 50 miles and then read full. The vehicle had not been inspected but the dealer informed the contact that the fuel sending unit most likely needed to be replaced. The failure continued but had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000. The current mileage was 70,289.
