29 problems related to other fuel system tank assembly have been reported for the 2007 Nissan Frontier. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2007 Nissan Frontier based on all problems reported for the 2007 Frontier.
There is a known problem with the fuel sending unit for Frontiers about this age. Nissan extended the warrantee a few years ago, but it wasn't long enough to cover the defect. Now the sending unit needs to be replaced for the fuel gauge to work, and the whole gas tank needs to be dropped to do it. Nissan ought to cover this known issue with a full recall, not just an extended warrantee.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. While driving at unknown speeds, the fuel gauge indicated that there was fuel in the fuel tank, but in reality, there was no fuel in the vehicle. While in traffic on a hill, the vehicle stalled due to lack of fuel; however, the fuel gauge displayed a quarter tank of fuel. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. There were no open recalls for the vehicle. The failure mileage was 72,000.
Fuel gauge is not accurate or indicates empty with fuel warning light displayed, even when tank is full. Research shows that it is a defective fuel level sending unit. This should have been recalled for repair by Nissan. Running out of fuel, unexpectedly on the highway could have very dangerous consequences.
Fuel gauge not moving to full, as gas tank got refilled. It shows empty after refill and check engine light illuminates. Sometimes stay empty until gas out, not safe to drive. Hard to tell if emptied or not. Need rpair. My truck is only 40000 when this happened, now its at 60000 miles. Repair will cost over $600 if only replacing inside tank fuel gauge.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed to provide accurate reading levels and remained indicating that the fuel tank was full. The contact refueled the vehicle several times but the fuel gauge remained indicating full. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a manufacturer recall related to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The approximate failure mileage was 60,100.
I took my truck to temecula Nissan and had it check, they told me my air bag would not open if I was in an accident, faulty spiral cable-p1564,faulty vent control valve-p0448, faulty fuel tank sending unit- p0463 this are things that need to be fixed, some of them are on a recall list but I was told it expired. So I could die behind this.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that they filled the vehicle with fuel and as they started driving the fuel gauge started to drop towards being empty. The failure corrected itself, but the second time the failure occurred the service engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and it was determined that the sender inside the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The manufacturer stated that the part was not under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The current mileage was 95549. Rl.
Traveling along hwy 209 in bigfork, mt, I noticed my gas gauge needle drop from 1/2 tank to below zero and immediately the fuel light came on along with the check engine light. A mile down the road and the engine stalled and had to make an emergency pull-over with my two young children in the car. Thankfully, the traffic was light that day, I was able to pull over safely, and I had cell service. I called my husband and let him know what happened. He brought gas and, sure enough, the truck started once again, but did not register fuel again until I filled the tank completely. It continues to repeat this cycle where it will register until a certain fuel level and then the needle will dive to below empty.
Vehicle ran out of gas when the gas hand was reading at a quarter of a tank. It happened as I entered traffic.
I have been having the fuel gauge problems with my 2007 Nissan Frontier that I now see so many other people have complained about. It has been close to a year that I have had the issue but I knew it was the fuel level indicator sensor causing the check engine light to come so I didn't get it fixed. I would fill up with gas and the fuel gauge would stay at empty (no matter how much fuel was in the tank when I started fueling). Then after driving up to 100 miles the fuel gauge would go up to what I assume was an accurate reading. It has been about a month now the fuel gauge has completely quit working. I would fill up at between 250 miles to 300 miles on a tank because I knew I always got over 300 miles on a tank of gas. Well, this morning on my way to work I ran out a gas right in the middle of a busy intersection. I am very disgusted to see all of the complaints about this problem and Nissan is not willing to do anything about it. On top of that, I thought a smaller pickup with a 6 cylinder engine would get better gas mileage than is does. My 2007 Frontier gets lousy gas mileage.
My vehicle no longer registers how much fuel is in my tank because of a faulty fuel sending unit. I ran out of gas on the freeway. Why wasn't a recall issued to fix the known problem? stalled vehicles pose a hazard.
Fuel gage shows empty when its full or vise versa. Gauge does not work because fuel tank has warped and float wont read it properly. Nissan is aware of their problem but Nissan in reno nv wants $400. 00 to fix it. Their faulty parts and they wont stand behind them. Weak.
Fuel gage shows empty when its the tank is full and causes the "check engine" light to go on. I can't tell when I'm out of gas.
Gas gauge quit working goes between half and quarter tank and stops, letting you run out of gas. Next item is timing chain howl on cold starts for over a year now then I read bulletin that chain tensioners are wearing and causing timing chain failures and Nissan has never notified owners I was just in to dealer about gas gauge problem about 2 weeks ago and no one mentioned timing chain problem.
Gas gauge does not register accurately. Example being when tank is empty it still reads 1 quarter full.
My 2007 Nissan Frontier fuel gauge remains past the empty mark. It stays that way even when the tank is full. This also causes my check engine light to stay on. This causes me not to know how much gas I have left.
Fuel indicator reads empty when tank is full.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel gauge tank unit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 65,000.
My fuel gauge is not working properly, which has caused the check engine light to stay on constantly. When I fill up with fuel, the fuel gauge will sometimes move up to full, but only after a few starts of the engine. However, it will fall back down to empty after only driving a few miles or so. I really never know how much fuel I have unless I go back to fill it up just to be safe. I have looked online today and found out that there is a massive and very widespread fuel system issue with this vehicle type. I notified Nissan today and was told that there is not an open recall for this problem with my vehicle. How is that even possible, based on the number of incidents I have found from my research dealing with this particular issue. The Nissan agent advised me to go to a Nissan dealership garage and ask for a diagnostic check. She said to call her back or have a mechanic rep. Call to advise what the diagnostic check revealed. She stated Nissan may be able to help with some financial aide. I truly appreciate the gesture, but that does not fix the fact that this issue should be completely covered by a manufacturer recall. Yesterday I ran out of gas on the expressway during heavy traffic. I was very fortunate to be able to coast two lanes over to the emergency lane. However, the portion I was in was very narrow and did not offer ample room to pour the gas in the tank that a friend brought me an hour after I ran out of gas. A police officer kindly stopped to assist with the very dangerous mission of trying to get the gas in the vehicle standing only inches from the traffic as it rushed by at very high speeds. To make a long story a little shorter, there was an incident involving two tractor trailers and two cars. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Including the officer, my friend, and myself, who were standing only feet from where the incident occurred. Thank god!.
Filled gas tank gauge did not read full , then engine light came on, brought to my mechanic stated fuel gauge registered the problem cost app. 700. 00.
I filled my fuel tank with about 19 gallons. When I started the truck the fuel needle never moved. Started to drive to work and the fuel level dropped to empty and the light turned on. After driving for 30 miles the service engine light came on. I have no idea why.
During regular driving, there is a squeaking noise coming from the fuel tank.
The check engine light came on when the gas tank was under a 1/4 full. I filled the gas tank up and the check engine light stayed on and the fuel gauge read empty. When approximately the gas was down to 3/4 full the gas gauge began to work again. The check engine light stayed on. When I filed the gas tank the gas gauge showed empty. I had the check engine light checked out and it was identified as a faulty fuel sensor. I cleared the check engine light which stayed cleared until the next time the gas tank was filled and the issues came back no fuel gauge reading and check engine light.
This refers to my 07 Nissan Frontier with 90k miles. Since August 2012, fuel guage is erratic indicating erroneous fuel level. May show fuel when empty or empty when tank if fuel. Potential for running out of gas on highway creating hazardous circumstance. Diagnostic code is p0463. Internet search reveals many with same problem on Nissan. Allegedly same problem resulted in recall for 2006 but not for 2007 models with same issue. Why? customer service at local Nissan dealer and Nissan main office not particularly helpful except to say local dealer will fix for 400-500 plus 120 for initial diagnosis. Blatantly unfair to customer for this safety issue. This is not a worn out part, it is a defective electrical fuel sensor sending unit.
The fuel gauge indicated that the car had a quarter of a tank when the car stopped on the highway because it was out of fuel. Then the gauge indicated empty when I was able to refuel the car. This was a recall in the 2006 and 2008 models. Why is this not being recalled in the 2007 model.
Filled up gas tank and gauge registered empty and low fuel light came on when car was started. Fuel gauge has not worked properly since and the check engine light remains on. (fuel sender not workin properly).
Fuel gauge on the truck became inaccurate causing engine to unexpectedly stop running from lack of fuel. This created a dangerous condition in not being able to control the truck in high speed traffic. Nissan dealer said the fuel sensor in the tank had failed and was not covered under manufacturer's warranty due to exceeding mileage and time warranty.
2007 Nissan Frontier with 55,000 miles developed "service engine soon" light when filled up with gasoline. Code shown when read was "fuel sending unit high output". After research with several Nissan dealers, an approximate repair cost of $600 was given, including a $100 diagnostic fee for reading the codes. I have been running vehicle without a properly operating fuel gauge for approximately 5,000 miles since, due to high cost of repair not available at this time. This is a risk since the fuel gauge drops to empty once tank is below half full. This can result in loss of power components upon vehicle ceasing to operate once out of fuel. This is a recurring defect in similar and past model years that the manufacturer is choosing to ignore once out of warranty.
Gas gauge shows as empty even though it has a full tank. Service engine light is on. Was a recall in 2010 concerning this issue although Nissan says it's not a campaign service. Was not notified about the recall even though it symptoms for the recall are exactly the issue I have. Have had the issue for over 7 years. Have contacted dealer and Nissanusa and both deny the recall.
