7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2018

My Frontier was involved in a fuel level sensor recall in 2010 and was never replaced. The cel came on today(10/17/2018). I called my local dealer and they said the warranty on that part was increased 72;000 miles or three years. So as of today it is expired. I thought if a part was under recall it was for the life of vehicle. I worked at this dealership for over twenty years and never heard of anything like this. If a part is defective does it matter when it fails?.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2018

Fuel guage doesn't work correctly. Sometimes it show the right level and other times it shows empty or somewhere in between. Ran out of fuel the other day on the highway. I know there was a recall on this for 2006 -2008, but it says my VIN number doesn't have a recall for this.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2017

Nissan recognized leak in radiator, leading to corrosion in transmission resulting in clunking shifting with automatic transmission, until transmission cannot shift by itself. Secret warranty bulletin put out but only to Nissan service centres and not shared with vehicles owners until to late for most. If they recalled or fixed the radiator, would not now need a new transmission repair for ~$7000. Truck will no longer go up hills unless one shifts as if it were manual.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2016

Our 07 Nissan Frontier was being driven to be inspected for registration when, at a stop light, it just turned off and would not start. We had it towed to a mechanic. He had to send it to the local Nissan dealership for the computer to be replaced and reprogrammed. According to this mechanic, the leak from the radiator has mixed with transmission fluid in the transmission causing all these components to fail and need replacing. This is unacceptable!!.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2016

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the fuel level sensor failed and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. In addition, when the vehicle was filled with fuel, the fuel sensor gauge remained on empty. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel sensor, o ring, and clip needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2015

Fuel level gauge failed at approximately 76k miles. Received code po 461 indicating sensor failure. Currently using odometer to keep from running out of gas while driving. Noted recall 10v075000 apparently covers this exact problem but 2007 model year not included. Service bulletin ntb-07-069c also notes issue of defective oem part used by Nissan in manufacture of vehicle, but only recourse is to replace at owner's expense. Note over 150 separate complaints under various categories for this identical problem. Seems like a valid safety issue requiring a voluntary recall by Nissan for affected vehicles or a mandatory recall by NHTSA.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2015

The fuel level sensor has failed causing a safety issue. The 2006 and the 2008 model years have been recalled for this same issue but not the 2007 model.

15 Other Fuel System problem

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2014

18 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2014

Fuel level sensor malfunction, truck shut off while showing it was half full of gas. I was in the process of moving so I had a truck load of furniture and also pulling my boat. I luckily carry a heavy duty chain with me and was able to get someone to tow me to a gas station. I then read that Nissan had recalled 2005-2008 models but when I called my particular truck wasn't one of them. It doesn't really make sense to me if my truck is showing the same problems why it isn't recalled. This didn't cause that big of an issue for me but I feel like this is a serious problem and could put someone in danger of having an accident. The seal around where the sensor connects doesn't hold so gas gets in and corrodes the connecting pins causing it to malfunction. They wanted to charge me $400 to fix it so I bought the part online for $85 and fixed it myself. I don't feel like this is right and Nissan needs to be held accountable.

31 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2010

When my 2007 Frontier reached a little over 50k miles, noticed service engine soon light coming on. Stayed on, turned truck on and off, noticed last time that the gauges all shook a little before engine started, now when to start again to take another child to school and engine won't start at all, makes click click sound and all gauges shake, see many similar complaints, looks like this needs a recall!!!!!!!!!!!.

32 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2010

2007 Nissan Frontier gas gauge quits working and sends a signal for the service engine soon light to come on. Online there are a huge number of people with Frontiers, xterras and pathfinders with the identical issue. Problem is apparently a bad fuel sending unit.

The fuel level sensor has failed in my 2007 Nissan Frontier. I have done a little research and found several others complaining about the same issue. Please help investigate this issue.
