2 Suspension problem of the 2024 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/19/2024

Sway bar was loose from manufacturer. Purchased 7/31. In the first two weeks of driving, I noticed an unusual sound when I turned the vehicle hard one way. At first I thought it was the frame flexing as it was new, however, it seemed to get worse. I noticed the steering become more loose as days went on. I called my salesman who asked me to bring it in to have service take a look. Turns out that the swaybar was not screwed in tight or heck may have been missing a few bolts. Service center said that it came that way from the factory. Doesn't appear that service did a thorough look over when they rcvd the vehicle off the truck. They fixed it, no issue and did so timely. Second, I also noticed that it seems as if the clear coat on the paint job on the front two fenders and hood was missed. The layer, if any, is very very thin and almost non existent. I also noticed that the paint is very thin as if perhaps one coat. It is also a bit pitted almost on the hood and front left fender as if something was sprayed like overspray and the paint is almost pitted in those areas.

3 Suspension problem of the 2024 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/18/2024

2024 Nissan vehicle was sold from rock hill Nissan with open voluntary recall on front rh lower link on 7. 18. 2024. Dealer responsibility it is the dealer’s responsibility to check service comm or dealer business systems (dbs) national service history for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the national highway traffic safety administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed. Repair was complete on 7. 28. 2024 at Nissan of gastonia. It took 4 hours. I'm unable to locate the paperwork but can request from dealership.

4 Suspension problem of the 2003 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/13/2024

I was driving and my truck started drifting and I felt like I was losing control. Could of caused a very serious and dangerous accident - scared me to death, had just bought this Nissan, and love the brand. Had great tires and brakes just completely done. Brought it to my mechanic and he put it up on the hoist. Frame almost completely rusted out and through in many spots. They were surprised it did not completely come apart! extremely dangerous and they suspect like Toyota that maybe part of a NHTSA recall. I just checked and did not find one, but there should be, how many other un-safe Frontiers are out there be driven every day by the public. I can send pictures if needed, just need to ask mechanic to put back up on hoist, as he would not let me drive the car and it is still there. Horrific danger!.

7 Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 11/04/2021

I was driving my vehicle and I ran out of gas. The gas gauge maintained a quarter of a tank and the gas light never came on. I check for recalls and it turns out this is a known recall for this vehicle, but it says 0 recalls. But the problem still persists, therefore the vehicle is still suffering from this problem. After filling the gas after the car ran out. I tested this theory 2 more times to confirm that indeed the vehicle was suffering from this recall, in which I run out of gas without knowing. Secondly, the links associated with the other recall, have also failed/failing as the vehicle is becoming unstable while driving at times and a mechanic has already determined the links to be the cause, yet when I check my VIN number, it says 0 recalls. Yet my vehicle clearly suffers from this. Can my vehicle please be added to the list, as this is very scary as the first time I ran out of gas I was on the expressway, and the vehicle sways yet it is not listed and needs to be for safety reasons and concerns. Thank you for your time, effort, and consideration regarding this, I await your timely response.

13 Suspension problem of the 2002 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/10/2017

Takata inflators: understanding that it is a supercharger and it will not get the fuel mileage as a four-cylinder vehicle I should not be going through this much gas and I do not have my foot in it all the time also my front driver seat is about to dismantle from the floor there is a lot of electrical issues which I'm not sure if that is what is causing sensor problems the check engine light is now on again. I have had over $3000 of my own money put into this truck along with another used motor and supercharger put in right after purchasing this truck used I would not have preferred them buying used I wanted remanufactured but it was not my choice they said. The bed of the truck is also riding out the brake system I also have to redo again which I should not have any issues. And for a supercharger it should have a lot more power than it does. I have documentation to prove that I have spent so far receipts and I do not even like taking the highway at times because I just don't feel like it safe enough to be honest with you and I should not feel that way when I just purchased this truck not even a year ago. This is the first used truck I have ever purchased where I have had so many issues with it I don't know whether not to blame myself to use dealership or the truck itself I fell in love with the truck at first sight but I will never do that again. When it rains and I'm on the highway I will lose power almost to the point where I think the engine and the engine well almost shut off I will have to get off the highway shut the truck down let it sit for about a minute or two turn it back on and then proceed if I still in losing power I will have to shut it off again and then wait until the truck is ready in order for it to have its power back I do not know what the problem is I'm not sure if too much rain is getting into the engine and I'm not sure why.

17 Suspension problem of the 2015 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that there was an intermittent failure with the rear tires rubber burning out when attempting to make a stop, at a light, up and down a hill which had caused the contact to shift gears into neutral. The caller had to put the gear in neutral and then park but was uncertain as to what was causing the rear to be unstable when releasing the accelerator pedal. No dealer had been able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired so the contact was uncertain if the failure may result in a catastrophic crash. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was waiting to determine the technical guidelines to repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.

18 Suspension problem of the 2011 Nissan Frontier

19 Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/08/2015

I took my truck to temecula Nissan and had it check, they told me my air bag would not open if I was in an accident, faulty spiral cable-p1564,faulty vent control valve-p0448, faulty fuel tank sending unit- p0463 this are things that need to be fixed, some of them are on a recall list but I was told it expired. So I could die behind this.

20 Suspension problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/03/2015

When I got out of college the first thing I wanted to do was to buy my dream car. I had been looking into getting a truck and I was debating between my number one choice a Nissan Frontier or 2nd choice Toyota tacoma. I knew the tacoma was probably more reliable in terms of minor parts yet I just loved the design of the Frontier and therefore I bought one in 2006 brand new. Ever since it has been my preferred and only way of transportation. I knew that maintaining it was imperative therefore when it came to an oil change, change of suspension trusts, transmission service, change of spark plugs; it was all done at the proper time. Yet my truck started giving me issues 4 months ago when it would shake or shimmer on road and freeway. Did several tire rotations, did suspension change, yet the issue still persisted. It all came down to a screeching halt when I was going up to sequoia national park for a hike with friends. My Frontier all of a sudden started loosing power and then the gears would just not change. Eventually my 'engine service soon' appeared and was forced to stop our trip. Had to hire a tow truck to bring down the truck and upon scanning I got a p1759 code. Upon researching I come to find out this is a common issue with not only this line of truck but also xterra and titan brands. You cannot believe my disappointment. If it were something simple I wouldn't mind but transmission?!? really?!? because of somebodies' mistake when it came to the engineering of the truck?!? and to find out Nissan is just ignoring the issue. Total disappointment and frustration! now I have to wait for our sweet government to take action since this is a perfect example of a major corporation irresponsibility and ultimately. . . . Greed. Be warned all Frontier drivers, your time will come.

Se llevo al dealer y se nos notifico que era un desperfecto DE la guagua y tuvimos que pagar 3,287. 88 ya que la guagua tiene 9 anos y la garantia era 80,000 millas o 8 anos lo que surgiera primero. 24 Suspension problem of the 2003 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/11/2013

I heard a sudden thud and then a grinding noise coming from the rear end as if a brake had hung up,metal to metal. When I exited the vehicle there was smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle and a very strong smell of overheating of the brakes or metal and fluid. Upon pulling the wheels, our company mechanic found nothing of the sort to be wrong. I called a friend to have the vehicle trailer-ed to monro muffler and brake in mansfield PA,where it was determined the bearings had failed in the rears, both inner and outer. Nissan USA determined that my VIN # did not fall into the recall campaign even though it fell within the same make, model and year within recall campaign #02v299000! Nissan advised me to take the truck to williams Nissan in sayre PA and have it diagnosed there. I had previously called them before contacting Nissan USA where they had already advised me of the VIN # not being within the recall campaign. There is no doubt that an accident could have occurred if not a fire or both! this came with absolutely no warning in the very early morning on my way to work. I would advise anyone who owns these make, model and years to have this checked and repaired. I cannot believe Nissan would not take responsibility in such an exact case as this particular recall states. In essence this does start with the abs braking system and seals as monro told me the seals had failed!.

25 Suspension problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/25/2013

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while changing the rear brakes, he noticed a massive amount of grease in the rear drum. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 90,000. Kmj.

26 Suspension problem of the 2012 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/14/2012

The Frontier 2012 (new car) start loosing the alignment, the dealer worked three times with the same problem, changes the original tires for a new 4 tires, but the problem persisted. In 17 months the car damage 6 new tires changed by the dealer due my complaints and they do not want to attend my car anymore no matter the warranty car. I applied to the lemon law, because the engineer send by Nissan said that the car is working properly. But some mechanics tell me the car problem is in the suspension, at this moment I continue waiting for the florida lemon law results, but very afraid about the insecure feeling at driving my car.

27 Suspension problem of the 2004 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/30/2012

For the second time in less then three years my rear axel and wheel have come loose and very close to falling off. Both times the mechanics told me it was because of a broken washer. After doing some research I have found that other Frontier owners have had similar axel problems. Mechanics have told me that they are aware of Frontier rear axel problems. This is a major safety concern for myself and for other Frontier owners. This problem could cause serious and dangerous accidents that could injure or kill people. I was blessed that both times my rear axel failed I was only going at a slow speed. If it happened on the highway at a higher speed I would hate to think what might happen. Axles coming loose should not be happening. Nissan should step up and deal with this major safety problem.

28 Suspension problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/24/2012

While driving at a speed of 60-65 on the highway my 2005 Nissan Frontier feels like the transmission slips out of gear and starts to grind. This occurs only under acceleration and I do not mean hard acceleration. I am simply at a cruising speed on the highway and trying to simply maintain a speed and the noise occurs daily. I am not positive that the noise is coming from the transmission because I am no mechanic, but the sound is a grinding sound which means it is a gear grinding somewhere. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealer three times and all I was told is that the transmission is okay. I do not have a service engine light on so maybe that is the reason, but I was able to show the dealer the noise and still no help. All I wanted when I bought this truck is a reliable car and I do not have one. Nissan should be held responsible for putting out a subpar product. I know based on the online forums that I am not alone in these issues with the truck.

29 Suspension problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/25/2012

I purchased my truck from the Nissan dealer in 2006 and recently noticed that the front tires were worn rather badly. I thought this was unusual since I had less than 35,000 miles on the truck. I took my truck to sears and asked them to align the wheels and rotate the tires. Sears could not do the alignment because they would have to order and install some parts that were not on the truck at manufacturing. I called Nissan north America to find out if this was necessary and was told that for certain make of vehicles this was true. I would have to pay for the parts and labor to make it possible to align the wheels to recommended specifications. According to sears, since the cambers and casters were not within recommended specification, tire wear, handling and safety problems may result. I feel that the necessary parts should have been installed during manufacturing to avoid any possible accidents due to premature tire wear. The Nissan dealer should install the necessary parts for free and Nissan should notify any vehicle owners affected by this deficiency which might cause handling and safety problems.

30 Suspension problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/07/2011

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the emergency brake engaged while driving. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who discovered that the rear passenger's side axle seal had leaked onto the emergency brake pads. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 52,000 and the current mileage was 68,000.

31 Suspension problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/01/2008

I own a 2006 Nissan Frontier, it was delivered with only half the keys programmed for the vehicle, a strange rattling of plastic shrouding in the engine compartment and as I found out a fast set of tires later, the front end out of alignment [ too much toe in ]. When I read the manual I found out that my 4wd vehicle was "not intended to be used off of the road", this was not in any of the presales literature and the reason I buy 4wd is so I can use it off road. At 100 miles after warranty I had to take it in because the fuel sending unit had failed, about a $600 repair on a part that should last 200,000 miles. The mechanic told me their dealership is replacing about one of these a week on a couple of models. When I picked it up I got the trouble light on the way home, I scanned it to see what the problem was [code po448 ]. I took it back. The first canister they ordered showed up broken [ kind of fragile for something mounted on the bottom of a 4wd ]. Parts replaced under the emissions warranty were 14953zp50c filter-canister, 14950-ea20a canister assy. E, and 14935-am60b valve assy. -CO. The service order says " . . . Inspected/found no flow very rusty. . . . ". As the vehicle only has 36,000 miles on it this does not bode well for the future.

32 Suspension problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/15/2008

My 2008 Nissan Frontier 4x4 crewcab is thrown all over the road by normal wind draft while driving down the road and on windy days it is a nightmare to keep on the road. You cannot relax while driving or you will find yourself on the shoulder of the road before you know it! I am afraid I am going end up in a wreck because of it or at the very least I believe I might be stop and accused of driving drunk. I have taken it back to the dealer and had it checked. Nothing mechanically wrong. They tell me it is wind draft. I am very disappointed I bought this truck as I can't do anything about it now and I don't think Nissan is going to do anything about it, even though the look on the shop forman's face told me he knows it is a design flaw that he can do nothing about and that he is uncomfortable being caught in this position. This is an unsafe vehicle to operate and there should be a recall to do whatever it takes to fix this before someone gets killed. In my opinion, it is just a matter of time before this is reality!!!!!!!!.

33 Suspension problem of the 2004 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/27/2004
