I bought a 2007 Nissan Frontier from a car dealership in boise idaho called larry h miller I purchase a vehicle and about a month later I noticed it was making noise coming from the rear end come to find out what is the transmission of the radiator falters and I had coolant in my radiator and my radiator coolant in my transmission I called larry h miller and there was a $500 copay to pay before they would even look at it I did not have that kind of money sticking around it's not in my paperwork anywhere about a $500 copay it was under warranty at the time of fault and approximately six months later the truck went totally blank transmission went totally out I from when I understand I'm stuck with it I just want to know if meson would be responsible to to pay for the transmission sit in my driveway and I'm being garnished for the vehicle as we speak. The noise that it would make his as if somebody would ran over a rumble strip and that noise started between 43 and 48 miles an hour.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. While driving up an incline at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle jerked without warning. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the radiator was leaking coolant into the transmission and the transmission and radiator needed to be replaced. The radiator was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that when the ignition was turned to the on position, there was an abnormal noise coming from the radiator. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. While driving the vehicle, a clunking and stuttering noise emitted from the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic and dealer who diagnosed that the transmission failed. The transmission and main computer needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that NHTSA investigation number: dp12004 (power train) was directly related to the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
I bought the truck and less than a week later I noticed a weird rumbling noise at around 35-50 mph and 1-2 rpms. One time while I was by myself in the mountains scouting for an elk hunting trip, the truck would not go into reverse. This could have been very bad as I was isolated otherwise deep in utah mountains in the fall. Took the truck in and found it was transmission failure just like everyone else had written about on the internet. Extended warranty replaced transmission for $100. 00. 6 months later, I was still nervous about the issue and before a big trip I did some more research. People with similar problems were pointing at the radiator and warned to check it for transmission oil contamination. Checked it last night and the radiator is full of transmission oil. Truck is currently in the shop.
Making a noise when traveling at 35-40 mph accelerating. Nissan dealership states it is the radiator leaking coolant into the transmission which is causing the transmission to fail. Warranty expired on 12/2014. Nissan dealership states a CO-pay of $2500. 00 is what will be charged to fix.
While driving my Frontier, the transmission starting making noise. It started slipping when I was taking off, after having stopped for a red light. Then the service light and indicator lights came on. I could tell that 2nd gear was gone. The truck was towed to a certified Nissan dealer. They informed me that the truck was not covered under warranty and gave me a $5190 estimate. This does not include the $300 for the rental I have had to get for this first week, or the $101 for the towing and diagnostic testing. I have since discovered that the coolant was leaked into the transmission and has caused it to fail. I have also learned that hundreds, if not thousands, have registered complaints that this was due to a radiator failure that was known by Nissan. I did not receive a recall notice or any other notification concerning this problem. I called Nissan consumer affairs and received a case number. After 24 hrs. They called to tell me that they had extended the warranties on the radiators up to 8 yrs. And 80,000 miles, but that they would not be able to help me with my case. I have since found out online that Nissan did not issue recalls on this. My truck had been properly serviced at my Nissan dealership, and both the radiator and transmission was flushed at 30,000 and 60,000 miles. The power-steering was also flushed at 60,000 miles. I believe my dealership should have made me aware of the problem when my truck was in for servicing, and then I could have had the radiator taken care of under the warranty period before all the transmission damage was done. And Nissan should have issued a safety recall, as my truck stopped at 35 mph; and was almost rear ended. I would have normally been on the highway, except once the noise started, I decided to take an alternate route in order to get my vehicle to a safe area. Nissan should have to pay for this period!.

My truck began to shake and tremble when I was trying to back into my drive way. The truck had been making noises and I had taken the truck in to be checked by 3 different mechanics. I was told that they could not find anything and one stated he heard the noise but did not know what it was. The truck continue to make the noise of a grinding and shuttering sound. Did not drive but to work and home due to the problems. The noise would stop when the overdrive was turned off. Lately the truck sounds like the transmission is going. The fuel gauge does not work. It was in a recall but Nissan would not repair even though I was mailed the recall after my mileage was too high for the repair which makes no sense to me because if they sent the notice out late, what does my mileage have to do with their negligence to repair their faulty vehicles? could not repair, the cost was over $600. Had to replace a wheel bearing, over $400. Tire gauge light on. I have had nothing but trouble with this truck. I will never purchase another Nissan product. When dealing with the Nissan recall people I felt as though they could care less. Working on a fixed budget and unable to pay for high cost of repair. What can you do when the big companies refuse to repair their trucks and cars? I was informed there was no one to help me. Have run out of gas several times due to the gas gauge. I have read other's complaints on Nissans and I am surprise that no one forces them to repair their vehicles. This is my only form of transportation and without the repairs, I will be riding the bus. Tired in virginia. Thanks for listening.
The problem began with a growling noise accompanied by a shuddering sensation. I had the problem diagnosed at the dealership as transmission fluid contamination. They advised me to take the vehicle out of service for repairs at an estimated cost of $6500. I could not afford this so I had my local asme certified mechanic replace the radiator and power flush the transmission at a cost of $900. The problem persists and I expect a catastrophic transmission failure at any time.
Whining noise from front of engine. Diagnosed as timing chain tensioner failing. Numerous complaints online. Dealer covered 300 dollars but after 20 days and 13 phone calls, Nissan USA refused to participate in repair or discuss the issue. Concern for transmission failure due to coolant leaking into transmission. Nissan extended warranty to 80,000 which does very little for those of us that keep our vehicles a long time.
Had been getting some noises from the transmission for a little while, but mechanic never caught the real issue. Transmission failed while driving 100km/h, overdrive and 4th gears no longer worked. Was able to make it home and do quick internet search where it became obvious that my problem was related to engine coolant getting mixed with transmission oil due to failed cooler inside radiator. Opened up radiator cap which confirmed this fact, tranny oil floating on top of the engine coolant. Costs for rebuilding transmission over $5,000, hooked up oil to external cooler already in the truck, therefore saved cost of replacing radiator (bypassed this cooler). This is obviously a manufacturing or design defect, nothing do do with normal wear and tear. Nissan will not reimburse the repair.
