4 Transmission Shudder problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

Transmission began to shudder when in overdrive and at speeds 40-50 mph. Shuddering gradually grew worse and worse. Occasional clank sound when shifting from reverse to forward. Diagnosed at dealer as ruptured heat exchanger in radiator which allowed coolant to enter and contaminate the transmission.

5 Transmission Shudder problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/03/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle was shuddering and the transmission had malfunctioned. The contact also stated that vehicle would not accelerate properly and began to over heat and the "check engine " warning light was illuminated. The contact had then coasted over to a service station and inserted water in the coolant reservoir. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis and the mechanic stated that there was a cracked atf line that ran through the engine coolant chamber in the radiator which caused contamination, the radiator needed to be replaced and the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the approximate failure mileage was 99,000. Gb.

6 Transmission Shudder problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 12/18/2013

My 2007 Nissan Frontier developed shuddering in the transmission. It has received all regular service at 3,000 mile intervals. Today I was told that the transmission is contaminated with radiator coolant due to failure of the radiator and will cost $6200. 00 I note innumerable examples of radiator failures with catastrophic transmission failure in the public forums and Nissan agreed to a class-action settlement up to 100,000 miles with a $2500 deductible. Most vehicles are over 100,000 miles. This is a known defect which should be subject to a vehicle recall.

7 Transmission Shudder problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/10/2013

Transmission had begun to bump when changing gears. At times it was hard shifting. On 2-10-13 while driving on the interstate, the truck started to run hot. I stoped and had to put water in the overflow tank. Continued on the interstate and truck did not run hot anymore. Since then, the transmission has gotten worse. Some times the transmission vibrates when changing gears. Many people on the internet are having the same problem.

8 Transmission Shudder problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/10/2012

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph in reverse, the transmission responded with extreme hesitation. The failure also occurred whenever the contact was driving on an incline. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where they advised that the transmission severely vibrated when in reverse. In addition, the transmission fluid was burning abnormally. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 111,916. Kmj.

9 Transmission Shudder problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 05/25/2011

My truck first started shuddering on acceleration in 2011 at 68,000 miles. I checked it out and found foamy coolant and strawberry like milkshake in my transmission. Since it was out of warranty I tried to save it by changing the fluid and doing the bypass which worked for a while. Soon after I received a notice that they extended the warranty on this issue (making it within warranty). I then took it to the Nissan dealer to have them check it out, they said they checked the pressure on the radiator and said everything was fine. Now 2 years later at 100,000 miles my truck can't shift into overdrive. This is very upsetting and I feel you guys should be responsible for fixing this problem. All these vehicles should be recalled!.
