1 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2020

When you're driving in hazardous conditions the car loses stability and it caused me to go into a spin and hit a wall, anytime it rains you can feel that the car starts to lose grip of the road and I fear for my life every time it remotely starts to rain or the road is wet. And there's a recall on the Nissan Maxima regarding the rear suspension something and the effect of the recall on that vehicle is what's happening to my vehicle.

2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2015

When going to accelerate or change gears (park to reverse) the car jerks. When driving in city and I break then take off, the car engine rev's like the gear has slipped . .

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

I was a proud owner of a 2006 Maxima but now I am very disappointed. About two months ago, my car started jerking when switching gears, accelerating, parking, and slowing down. I went to Nissan and they told me that my transmission had internal failures and needed to be replaced at $4200. 00!!! my car only has 73,000 miles should not need a new transmission. I looked on the internet and discovered that there are thousands of people who have had the same issues and have filed a class action lawsuit against Nissan because they know that their transmissions are messed up and they are trying not to own up to it. This is a safety concern because when it jerks violently or stalls, you lose control of the car which is very scary and terrifying. I will never buy another Nissan again!!!.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2013

I had to do replace a worn engine mount on my car, which required lowering the front suspension member (Nissan speak), or cradle as I call it. I noticed that the front mounting studs were extremely corroded. I do live in a snow/salt state, ohio. The rear studs looked ok. The worst of the front studs had approximately 25% of the stud rotted away due to corrosion. This is not a simple replaceable a bolt, so I had no choice but to reassemble the cradle with the studs as is. If these studs were to fail, the result could be catastrophic. I thought you should know about this. As a side note, this same car had a severely corroded floor that had to be cut out and repaired as well. It appears Nissan does not build a car suited for the snow/salt areas.

5 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2010

2006 Nissan Maxima transmition keeps sliping and jerking in-between gears. There is a growling noise coming from the engine. There is a squeeking coming from the front driverside shock. Took to Nissan dealership to have it inspected and ended up having to have the transmission rebuilt and they couldnt "reconstruct the noises from the shock" and they couldnt identify the what was causing the noise from the engine.

6 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2010

I brought my 2006 Maxima new and had all kind of problems with the car at the very beginning. Everything was under warranty, but when my car had about 62000 miles the car started slipping and missing gears so I took it back to the dealership and they told me that my transmission wasn't cover under the power train because there were 2 types of transmission put into the Maxima and the one that my car had was not cover under the power train. I called Nissan corporate offices and didn't get any satisfaction. I had to replace the trans and many other things on this car. I would not ever or suggest that anyone buy a Nissan. I believed that Nissan knew about this problem before the first complaint was ever made. Same on you Nissan.

7 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2010

I was at the light waiting to make a left turn into my neighborhood and as I got a break to turn in front of traffic my car jerked and cut off. My 2 year old and 3 year old was also in the car I was terrified and now scared to make a turn in front of traffic bc my car may cost me and my kids our life car isn't safe to drive like that.

8 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2006

I bought a 2006 Nissan Maxima 2/27/06 and it has a rattling noise somewhere underneath the car. When I notice this noise bring it to a Nissan dealer where I bought the vehicle. They work on it several time and still didn't fix it. I was unhappy with this and launch a complaint with Nissan consumer affair. A consumer affair specialist told me to take it another dealer which I did. Now it's been a month or more going back and forth to get this noise problem corrected. I still have the car which still have this rattling noise.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2006

: the contact stated while attempting to brake at 20 mph, the vehicle swerves to the left and right. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The dealer stated this was normal for a vehicle with 18 inch tires. The dealership told the consumer the reason he experienced the jerking of the vehicle was because the vehicle has 18 inch wheels and the wheels want to follow the road irregularities.
