We own a 2012 Nissan Maxima (VIN 1n4aa5ap5p5cc853951). While driving on the 215 freeway near henderson, nv our middle portion of our panoramic sunroof exploded/shattered for no reason. Have been trying to get it repaired but no parts availability in vegas, the replacement part arrived cracked in phoenix and we are now on our way home to oklahoma. The area was taped down in vegas and we have been in contact with Nissan consumer affairs to see if this will be covered by them due to class action suit listed on internet. They suggested we take to our local dealership in oklahoma.

Purchased 2017 Nissan Maxima at passport of marlow heights on 3/17/20. Took car to first service at passport on 6/22/20 for oil change & tire rotation. After further issues with my front left wheel and going to sheehy of waldorf for my second service I discovered that passport of marlow heights service advisor did not notify me of "the left wheel stud issue" while purchasing the car and until a week after my initial service visit of 6/22/20. The service advisor at passport reported a incorrect service date of 6/25/20 to cover up the late multi-point "lug nut" notification. On 1/8/2021 2nd scheduled maintenance at sheehy of waldorf, I requested oil change, tire rotate, 4-wheel alignment and balance. Sheehy found: lug nuts were crossed threaded which caused studs to be messed up as well. Sheehy "replaced 2 lug nuts and 2 studs on driver front tire. " for an added amount of $251. 53. I left sheehy of waldorf after my service and as I accelerated, I felt strong vibration at each interval, I returned to sheehy and asked for someone to ride with me. A shop foreman drove my car and he felt the vibration at each interval. The foreman took vehicle back in garage and inspected wheels "& found that the right rear wheel has been welded & the weld has split & cracked. The other 3 wheels have bends in the wheel & out of round" video & photo provided by sheehy. Sheehy also informed that air bag light is took car back to passport to re-inspect wheels/rim/air bag issues they created and after further research I found: air bag recall: report receipt date: Apr 26, 2016 NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 component(s): air bags - air bags: sensor: occupant classification. Now - passport is stating that my air bag light is on because "rodents have chewed thru my wires in my engine harness. Based on my research passport knew about this issue, dealer didn't disclose accident.

I've had my car for a little over a year and only one owner before me, it has been maintained well. My car has been making a noise for months now so I finally took it to a dealership (on August 3, 2019) and was told nothing was wrong. Not even a week later it broke down almost 2 hours from my house. Other than the knocking noise (which including a popping noise), uneven tire wear (had a blow out on 65 3 hours from home), it started not accelerating when I was at a stop sign or light. It still runs, but I've spent over $500 within a months time trying to receive answers and haven't yet. I see recalls for other years as in the suspension/strut insulator cracking. Also, I've seen other complaints about transmissions slipping and Nissan not wanting to fix them. I am now expecting my first child and have no form of transportation due to Nissan and their dealerships not knowing basic car knowledge nor wanting their customers safe and satisfied.

Cruise control drops out while engaged under all road/weather conditions. Dashboard indication "front radar unavailable due to obstruction" seems well documented online for several other Nissan vehicles. System will reset itself after several minutes, but also drops out and is non-functional intermitently, essentially making the tracking cruise control inoperable.

On Friday, December 15, 2017 I was driving on a city street at approximately 45 mph and I heard a loud boom. I pulled off and saw that my sunroof had exploded. There was a large hole in the middle of the sunroof with the edges of the glass raised upward. The remaining glass was popping and cracking.
Instrument dashboard on top is melting/sticky all over causing the material to become very shiny therefore creating a safety issue. The glare during sunny day in south florida is causing a safety issue as I can't see pedestrians or certain vehicles when the sun hits the dashboard. The center console around the radio is cracking and separating near the passenger airbag creating a safety concern. Vehicle was purchased used in 2012/2013 and this started to occur September 2017.
My 2009 Nissan Maxima has a cracked and melting dashboard. The result of this is that the sunlight causes an extreme glare on the windshield that makes visibility almost impossible on sunny days. A biker or pedestrian could be crossing the street in front of me and I would not know it due to only seeing the glare on the windshield. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs about this and they were nothing but rude the entire time. They said there are no known defects with it and they don't believe it is an issue. I told them that I cannot see and it is an extremely big issue and they disagree. I even offered to pay towards the cost of a new dashboard and they said they aren't going to do anything about it. There seems to be nothing else I can do at this point and it is only a matter of time before an accident occurs due to the blinding reflection from the dash.

The dashboard to my 2009 Nissan Maxima is melting and it is cracking around all the ac vents and around the radio & display console.
I was driving down the highway and my girlfriend and I heard a loud explosion. I knew right away that nothing had hit the car because there was no one else on the freeway. I took it to the dealership and they told me something must have hit it. I called my insurance company to set up a time to get my vehicle repaired, however, upon further investigation I noticed that there were many reports of the "exploding sunroofs. " some of the debris fell through the crack and got into our eyes. Some of the shards landed on my girlfriend and pricked her up, but no real damage.
My dashboard is melting. It has been like this for a very long time and nothing will fix it, as it is simply a problem with the way it was made. I have looked it up and I am not the only one with this problem. Many other people with a Nissan Maxima or a Nissan altima have melting dashboards. Texas heat, along with many other states, is damaging our dashboards. Not only is it melting, but it breaks and cracks if you touch it. If a fingernail touches it, it creates an indention. I have many spots on my dashboard where pieces have fallen completely off. Not only is it breaking, but it is also very very sticky. It is hard to clean. The worst part is that it causes a glare and it is very dangerous to drive. Since it is so sticky, the sun reflects and causes a glare on the windshield. It makes it very hard to see and it is very dangerous.
