2 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2018 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/11/2018

Driving a rented Nissan Maxima I encountered an issue I am concerned with. While changing a radio station I accidentally hit something that brought up a menu. Trying to get back to the original screen I found myself on the ongoing lane. We should not be looking at a screen when driving. It should not exist. I am very concerned with these unnecessary devices in cars that car companies push to make a sale. I find it a very dangerous distraction.

4 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2014 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 07/16/2015

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Maxima in January 2015 experienced problems with the electrical system in March of 2015 where the console screen (radio, heat/ac controls, gas mileage, etc. ) constantly blacked out/vertical and horizontal lines appeared. The screen was completely replaced and the repair was fixed by a local Nissan dealer. After receiving an oil change in early July 2015 (first free oil change) I noticed that my vehicle had a ticking and knocking noise/sound that was rather loud coming from the engine. I took the car to a local Nissan dealership and the vehicle was diagnosed with an engine knock from #1 main bearing. At the dealership a service appointment was set-up and I was provided a service bulletin (technical bulletin) from Nissan. The bulletin reads as follows: classification: em12-014a reference ntb12-01a dated December 17, 2013 that for 2009-2014 Maxima’s have engine knocks from #1 main bearing (on this notice there is a note “do not replace the engine for this issue”). I did not realize the Maxima had engine issues. If I knew this at the time of purchase I would have selected another vehicle. I have made a formal complaint to Nissan requesting the repurchase of this vehicle with various manufacture defects (currently waiting on a response). Additionally, I have tried to receive an even trade for a safe vehicle due to the manufacturer defects from the dealership where I brought this car but have been unsuccessful at this point due to the depreciation of the vehicle/current manufacturer defects (unsafe engine). This is utterly ridiculous for a car that has less than 7,000 miles to have so many defects that was purchased 6 months ago. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

5 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 03/16/2015

While driving on the interstate I felt an explosion and nearly lost control of my blood pressure, and I suffer from hyper-tension. The moon roof exploded and I had no idea what had happened. I looked around to see if a gun had been pointed at me because the sound was similar and the impact to the car felt as though it had been hit by an object. The cover over the moon roof was closed so that prevented any glass from entering and cutting me. I pulled off at the next exit to find a gapping hole, shattered glass on the roof and my heart beating rapidly. Once I got home I taped the roof and by the time I got to the repair shop the next day the pressure caused the roof to reopen and continue to break. I contacted Nissan to see if this vehicle was under recall and they said no. The cost was my expense. Now I do not open the shade at all for fear of this happening again resulting in injury. I live in a very hot and humid and rainy climate and when this occured the temperature was in the 70's, and the time of day was approx 6:45pm. I asked the glass company had they had any customers in with this problem and they affirmed. The moon roof glass was ordered and shipped directly to the glass company and my car was out of commission for a few days. The moon roof does not open at all, it was designed that way. If a safety notice had been attached I more than likely would not have purchased this type of vehicle.

6 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2006 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 07/14/2009

I purchased my 06' Maxima in 08' I had it for about 2 months and the cd player doesnt play any thing it skips spits the cd out and an error mesg. Comes up. I took it to the dealer and they "fixed it" so they say 1 week later it starts with the same issue I called and they said they can do anything about it maybe its the cd. So I never got that issue fixed. An other issue is my car has about 70k miles and every time the car goes 20-30 mph it has a hard hit to change gears every time. My car get serviced every 3-4 months and now I need a new tranmission!! I only work about 20 miles from where I live how can that be? also I had to replace some kind of brake part. Every time I went to brake the car made this noise and it started to shake the sound was this grinding sound then an other sound started like when you press the brakes and the roads are wet. But shaking real bad. I went to the dealer and they said its w & t on the car. When I asked him how offten this happens and he said not that offten so how can that be? other than that its little thing like my truck lock doesnt stay put I have to tighten the bolts of it once aweek please make Nissan do a re-call I have read all the compalints and they are all the same and expensive issue.

7 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 06/04/2009

I have had several problems with this car. . . This being the latest. Since buying this vehicle brand new I have had to have the entire dashboard replaced because it warped, the radio replaced, the chrome rails on top of the car replaced and now I took my vehicle in for service because I was hearing a "chirping" noise. I then got a call back and was told that the compressor had gone bad. But it gets better as right after that I was told that Nissan got a bad batch of compressors and they can't get a new one for me. But it still gets better. . . I was then told that if I don't replace the compressor (at a cost of over 1k) then it will fail and damage the belts, which will cause the power steering to fail as well as damaging the condenser. So I need a part that Nissan says is defective so they don't have anymore of them and are waiting on a new supplier, but in addition to that if I don't get this part it will cause additional damage to the car.

8 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 11/19/2008

My car is jerking and bucking bad. There are thousands of people out there with the same problem and Nissan is not doing anything about this. I have had my transmission fluid flushed and it has not helped. Others have had valve body work done and even replaced the transmission. The cars are still doing the same. The transmissions had to have been poorly built. Something needs to be done. I am still paying on the car and having major car issues. Nissan needs to be responsible. The consumer was also informed the vehicle needed a new engine. The cd player had to repaired and the air conditioner failed. Updated 01/21/10.

12 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 12/15/2005

'04 Maxima, maintained regularly, original owner, purchased in summer of '03(first batch of assy. Line); stereo head unit sat button, but no sat connections in back of head unit. I made an appointment one year ('06) near christmas to treat myself to have sirius satellite radio installed in my car as I was promised by the advertisements at time of purchase. The tech had already mounted the antenna to my roof and then was ready to install the tuner and connect it to the stereo head unit and could not locate the jacks on the back of the head unit to connect the satellite tuner. The service advisor explained to me that they have run into this on the cars that came off the assembly line in the first 6 months of production of this particular model. The cars have a sat button on the dash but no connections on the head unit to connect one. Also explained it had since been corrected by Nissan on all cars of the same model made after, that had the appropriate stereo head unit installed to accommodate satellite radio tuners. He then continued to tell me that Nissan was not covering the replacement of the head unit for those customers requesting satellite radio installation. This was a big blow to me and I could not afford to replace the head unit myself. The tech had to un-mount the antenna leaving chunks of paint missing from my roof and I had since had to install an aftermarket portable satellite radio which always gives me static problems. I believe Nissan should cover this replacement since the car was advertised at time of purchase to have the option of satellite radio. I only opted out at time of purchase because I felt comfortable with the fact that I could always come back and get it installed. If I would have known that issue at time of purchase, the dealer would have fixed that in order to make the sale. Why not after the fact? treating current owners good is just as important as attracting new ones. Repeat business is every companies bread and butter.

13 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2003 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/28/2005

I bought a 2003 Maxima se October 2005. My left side speakers would cut in and out only on the cd player. I found the TSB on this and had only had the car for 5 days. Salesman told me I would have to pay for a new one and had to get the manager to send my radio off to a place to get repaired. One month later it quit working again. I have read on numerous web sites about the way Nissan treats people with this problem. I cannot afford to shell out $600 for a new Nissan radio that will break in a few months anyway. And an aftermarket radio takes away from that original look for me. Can they not replace it with the 2002 radio (a new one ) because I haven't heard any complaints on that year. The dealership was crown pontiac in hoover, alabama. They promised me a touch up on the front bumper and hood because of the paint chips and to redo the titanium wheels because the finish was rubbed off and the rims were turning black. No touch up, had a guy come and fix 3 of the wheels and told me to bring the other one to the shop and he would have to work on it overnight for $100. So I have one rim that does not match. I had to shell out $80 for floor mats. Even bought the $1800 extended warranty. So for spending $22000 on a 2003 car, broken cd player, ugly rim, half the paint is missing from the touch up I never received. They were so nice before I got the car, but as soon as the paper was signed, all I got was sorry that will cost you. All I want is for my cd player to work and redo one rim. I cannot get that or even 1 of 2 would be okay.

14 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/12/2005

I bought this 2004 Nissan Maxima at difeo Nissan dealership of jersey city. Since I got it, I had to take it four times to the dealer to change front struts. Right now as I am sending you this email, I can hear that sound again. This is causing me a lot of inconvience, so I would be glad if someone can do something about it. I paid a lot of money for this car and I don't think I should be going through all this frustration for a car I spend so much money for. Secondly the c. D. Don't play when it's cold in the car. Please could someone get back to me or do something about these problems for me please. Thank you, seepersaud.

15 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

The cd player in the vehicle did not work properly. When the consumer tried to play the system it took a long time to get results. When the system finally did start to work, the sound blasted out and only the end of the song played. The cd's played randomly even when they were not suppose to. The dealer replaced the system four times with the same system.

17 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2003 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 02/06/2003

Nissan Maxima 2003 bose system sucks. . . . I got my cd player replaced three times. I believe they are clarion (a bose look a like) and sometimes dealers will put in used systems. Luckily I had the extended warranty, so no charge. But I did wasted couple of hours off work. If I had not purchased the extended warranty, the system runs around hundrendths of dollars.

18 Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2003 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/01/2003

The contact owns a 2003 Nissan Maxima. Nhtsa recall 03v455000 was issued. And the consumer took vehicle to Nissan for recall repairs. However, Nissan refused to do the recall repairs.
